“After contacting the site, I received a deluge of offers, most of which were irrelevant since they concerned Homebuyer surveys, which have no interest for me. Many were also too far away for me to consider anyway.”

“Indicated price was refused by one of the surveyors. Double check with the surveyor before moving ahead. I think this was down to that specific surveyor. Otherwise, excellent service. Used before, using now and most likely will use in the future. Thanks.”

“I used the Homeowners Alliance website for advice on getting updated EPC. Very simple to get 5 suggestions very quickly but within minutes was getting phone calls "I am in area, could visit tomorrow". The last thing I expected was to be hassled for my business and it should be made clear if you share your details you will be "cold called". If I use any of recommendations it will be tp a person/company who hasn't contacted me.”

“COMPANY USED = DRAIN DIVISION, details provided by LOCAL SURVEYORS, DRAINING SECTION: On initial contact with DRAIN DIVISION, offered me an appointment quite quickly for the following Monday at 9am. Alex (with Matt) arrived when they said. Alex appeared to assess the situation well, enough to make me feel they agreed with and understood my concerns and the problem; followed current drainage in place, lifted drain covers and talked me through what the solutions could be. A report would follow for me to check and Alex said they, and he confirmed it would be him, could actually do the work in 2 or 3 weeks' time. I paid £450 for the service, which I had already been informed was the fee and would be payable on the same day. I paid with a credit card. A receipt was printed out. However, I have heard nothing since. No emailed report, no request to book for the work to be done and the phone number on the printed bill receipt (Customer Job No: 36092) and an alternative one provided by Local Surveyors Direct, are either unobtainable or no longer recognised. I think you can understand my concerns now. For these reasons, it is very difficult to rate this company and I have concerns they may not be legitimately working. I sincerely hope I am incorrect.”

“We decided to use Novello Surveyors because it had appeared they were local [but apparently are not] and seemed to have good reviews. The lady surveyor was punctual, efficient and polite. However, it was too windy to fly the drone to inspect the valley gutters which I had highlighted as the prime reason for the survey. Consequently, the drone was flown a couple of days later without my presence. The photos submitted a week thereafter were of such low resolution that you could not enlarge them sufficiently to see detail clearly so a waste of time and money. black mark. in this age of drones of amateur construction in Ukraine which can pinpoint anything frankly this was not good enough. We had approached six surveyor companies. All included in their report samples evaluation of the costs involved in rectifying defects. Not Novello. They sheltered behind pages of small print and wanted to charge extra. this was disappointing and frustrating. The result is that at 80 years of age, I have to clamber out of a skylight, slide down 9 ft of roof into a valley gutter and carry out an inspection of the valleys personally. Risky and irritating.”

“The website was easy to navigate but unfortunately I had to wait 3 weeks for a survey with FP Surveyors then the surveyor let me down on the day they were due to visit the property and their next available appointment was a further 3 weeks away so I cancelled and went elsewhere. Their advert/website etc led me to believe they would be out within 3 days of booking which wasn't the case. I didn't hear from them after payment was made until I chased them.”

“It was OK - however, I wanted to read through the surveyors and contact them myself, which I did when I found someone suitable on the list. However, I was inundated with emails from surveyors, and it went on for a good couple of weeks. It got incredibly confusing when I mistook one of them for the one I had already booked to complete a survey, and almost booked two by accident! I think it should be up to the person searching whether or not they want to be contacted, however I saw no option for this.”
