“Response to my initial enquiry was very prompt. After a couple of emails asking for details of what I wanted and a card receipt for the payment, I have heard nothing. Not a dicky bird. So, initial communication good, thereafter very poor. Don’t know who my surveyor is. Has the survey been done? Where is the report?”

“It said it would provide a choice of local building surveyors, but it supplied only one 'national/regional' company, that no doubt paid for this referral. I can't believe there are not any "local" surveyors available. Do it did not feel impartial to me.”

Hi Karen. We have several surveyors covering your postcode. However, there are two factors coming into play here: 1. as we point our on our search pages: "with many experienced surveyors falling into 'at risk' categories due to age and other underlying health issues, many surveying firms are choosing not to carry out property inspections at present. Others are operating only limited or restricted services", and 2. many of those independent local surveyors that are working are exceptionally busy and are quoting such extended lead times on surveys that they have chosen to suspend their listings. We're sorry we haven't been able to help you with a wider choice, but these are highly unusual times.

“All looked great on the website. I asked for structural survey building quotes, however was the spammed via email and call for standard building quotes which then almost doubled in price when I stated (again) that I needed a structural one. The responses were quick to be fair to the companies, however I felt like I had just given away all my details for nothing. I didn't instruct any of them to carry out the structural survey as they were all more expensive than I had been given elsewhere and the incorrect quote initially left a sour taste.”

“Prices were so way out. valuing a house at less than it was valued in 2006 on one value and £120,000 less than it has been valued by an estate agent”

“Distinctly dodgy. The surveyor company who quoted for us had a 5 star review on the local building surveyors site- but it was only one and clearly dubious- it matched the description of the sample survey we were sent by the company- but the date on the review was several days before the date on the sample survey. The company registered at companies house had only been registered a few months and had one director- who was not a surveyor. I wouldn't touch them.”

“Whilst the website was easy to use we only got one result which I understand may have been due to some companies not wishing to take on work during the second lockdown but the one result never contacted us after we emailed them to ask about engaging them to do the survey. In the end I had to use google search to find and contact alternative companies”

“None of the listed surveyors prices were correct. Despite inoutting details accurately. I rang most who added a lot on.. Doing my own research I found a excellent surveyor on Google locally called THE GOOD SURVEYOR. Very helpful and not greedy at £345 no vat Fantastic Highly recommended Me kara (Gloucestershire)”
