The surveyor behaved in a very improper and unprofessional manner. His actions were inappropriate and his strange demeanor and behaviour made me feel uncomfortable in my own home. I made a formal complaint to Romans on 12th November but as far as I can tell, they have done nothing about it. I would never use this service again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The lady I was on the phone to was very rude and did not want to talk on the phone I got asked to complete the email instead of talk on the phone when I wanted to ask questions. She then sounded like she was fed up whilst talking to me

I got one reply and they were 40 miles away. As a consequence (I suppose) the price was unaffordably high

The surveyor that I chose from your list has not provided good service. There has been a lack of communication and it is taking a very long time to give the report back. On asking when I could expect the report (after already waiting 7 working days) I was told it would be sent to me today (10 working days after the survey was done) in line with their terms of service. Their terms of service say 10 working days would be the maximum time to wait. The 10 working days are up today and I still haven't received the report! I am not happy with this service.

Just some red tape hoops to jump through. There is no recourse for the surveyor overlooking a problems. They have every angle covered to avoid responsibility. You have to get it done to appease the bank and the estate agents are all lying scum too. Best advice is get a builder to come have a look at the house with you and ball-park what you might spend fixing it up.

Booked and was told a date that the survey would take place. Then changed to a much later date with no notification why. When talking to the company they were very helpful when they wanted money but at no other time. Was charged for a flood report which surprise, surprise was useless and said that the property was in a high risk area - the property was in a seaside town! Although we believed that the company would be local to the property it was in fact based less than 2 miles from where we currently live across the other side of the country. How does that make it local?

Stated the obvious though missed out or downplayed important issues that have cost us money. Usual caveats about get another survey for electrics/heating/plumbing made survey a waste of money. I would recommend anyone asking if they should get a survey to pay a builder to give you a survey, they would get more useful feedback about costs.

I was directed to your site by Saga Insurance, who believed that I would be able to get an immediate, if approximate, free building costs estimate for insurance purposes. I couldn't find this as an option, only links to various surveyors who would provide a survey for a fee.

Customer service poor from a previous company used. Wanted me to do everything on line, different customer service every time I emailed or phoned. No communication once they had received info and payment. Double booked appointment even though it was arranged a few weeks in advance and having to rearrange with the customer just days before- Not professional. On a positive note the survey was thorough.

Tried to contact Ken Howson, he said he could not hear me on the phone and disconnected the call. Emailed him but no response. We did not contact Your Survey as their service seemed too impersonal.

Well your website is good, easy to navigate however, you need to closely look at your supplier base. Either they are so busy they don't want the custom or they are totally inadequate as suppliers. You website suggested two surveyors in my area, the first one I have sent two emails too but have not heard from them. The second supplier again I have had to email twice and have still not received a quote!

I asked for surveyors in the Chichester area; the ones this site gave me were from Shoreham to London. I presume that these were provided because they had paid RICS to be on the list. I therefore used the internet to search for a local surveyor. The ones that I spoke to could not assist due to pressure of work but gave me details for a surveyor in Chichester who was perfect for the task required.
