“Only one of five were actually in my area. We used them, they were the cheapest but also provided the biggest comprehensive report. The issue was many were travelling miles and charging for it, rather than the report. That is my perception I may be wrong but you asked.”

“I found the site quite confusing. Of the 5 surveyors you sent me, one doesn't do the type of survey I described, and one is not in the necessary area.”

“It is a helpful aid but ultimately I found a surveyor myself via Google maps. By using this service you open yourself up to constant email and phone calls from some companies. The information provided on the site is useful but I checked trustpilot and Google reviews too which ultimately influenced my decision on the companies provided to me. The price range is very varied too.”

“Survey completed in a timely manner, but didn’t feel there was any personal involvement. They just did the survey and then sent a report. A conversation with the surveyor would have made it feel more personable and maybe even helpful to determine what we actually need to be concerned with.”

“website was Ok. The report from the surveyor omitted a lot. I have found patches of black mould indicating damp - that were not mentioned. I have need to re-wire the property. With the benefit of hindsight, I feel I would have been better having a walk round with a builder. For me, the profession is now right up there with politicians and estate agents.”

“Information via the website was useful. Less useful was trying to get the two recommended surveyors to respond to phonecalls/emails. In the end I used neither of them. One because they weren't interested, the other because they were too expensive.”

“The site was okay, but quotes given had to be confirmed by the surveyors and some didn't do the survey I requested and had a quote for. I instructed Paul Airey from Sunderland. Communication was poor and the survey was sent much later than he agreed. I thought the report was very generic and lacked detail specific to the property. I complained and received a refund.”

“Missed some highly important information and lacked detail . Did not enter loft space even when asked to do full inspection . Report seemed very much universal as if pre written to some extent . Wanted money transferring into personal account not business”

“This company was able to carry out the requested survey a little sooner than my preferred option, but seemed helpful and communication was good. However, once the survey has been carried out, the report took longer than I would have expected to be sent to me (10 working days) and seems to consist of a lot of photographs rather than text.”

“Some of the surveyors do not honor the quote price. Once you contact them, they tell you they will send you the accurate quote and when they do, it's usually an increased price which ultimately defeats the whole purpose of using a comparison website. It's very deceitful and disappointing!”
