“Sorry but this is a rip off company my neighbour of 75 was quoted £60 it might be a bit more if it takes longer and at the end of the job which took less than half an hour was charged £280 When she asked can't It be cheaper than that cos that's a lot was told that's our rate So why wasn't she told that in the first place absolutely a rip off I googled the locks and they are between £15 -£20 so where you get £280 for a job that took less than half an hour ???????????”

“The price for the lock and labour at £184 was very steep, especially as the job only took 15 minutes! When the men left I realised that although the key locks perfectly well, the door is loose in the frame, so it'll be draughty in winter. Wish I hadn't gone with this supplier.”

“I contacted Keys4U 033 0088 4662 to ask for help installing some new locks on my property in Epsom From each of my three calls I was promised a call back. My fourth call I was again offered a call back and I explained that this wasn't working and I was disappointed as I as the client was having to continually call back The response from the young lady was this is the first time you have spoken to me so what do you want !!!! Not particularly helpful Now off to find an alternative company”

“Having locked ourselves out on a freezing morning we were told our wait would be 30mins. We ended up waiting almost 3 times that long without a single call from the company to keep us informed. Then charged £70 for 1 minute of work. Locksmith was polite and apologetic though.”

“Absolutely awful, man was incredibly rude and started bombarding us with his anti-mask vitriol and then charged us £70 for what was essentially putting a coat hanger through the letterbox. I understand that it is not just that which we were paying for but for 5 minutes work this is horrendously overpriced and this man was thoroughly rude and unpleasant. If it was not for the fact that my partner desperately needed to go inside the house at that moment I would have let him leave the door locked and bought one of those jumped up coat hangers which I found in a local store for £30.”

“Locksmith drilled through lock even though he had plenty of other options. Was at my house less than 30 mins. Quoted £59 initially and asked to pay nearly 4x as much as that at £202. Would not reccommend. Either the locksmiths are there to get as much money as possible for a simple job or they don’t know what they are doing. Completely rip you off when your in need.”

“Not sure how you justify a bill of £184 for a 5 minute job and charge a £100 for a lock barrel that you can pick up for £12 to £15 . I understand that there is a call out charge ,distance of travel but really wished I had not bothered as I could have done the job myself and saved myself £169 !!! I feel Ripped off.”

“We had small domestic safe that we could not open. Called this company who sent safe opener within one hour.He was here less than 20 minute's,safe opened at a cost of £190 plus vat WHAT A RIP OFF”

“My main door would not unlock. The locksmith who came to unlock my door was charging ridiculous prices. He kept changing what he was going to charge me plus VAT. I rang his office and the receptionist told me a lower price. When I asked him how much it would cost to repair the door, the price he gave was ridiculous too.”

“In a few words guy came to fit a lock overcharged me by nearly £100 so I have now found out. Plus attempted to add futher charges and over quoted me for other locks. I am on quite strong medication so I think he took advantage of that.☹”

“I found myself locked out of my house, around 10pm on a cold night, wearing light clothing. As a registered disabled person, who needed to take medication - I started to panic and have anxiety attack. I found this company on Google, called the number explained the problem and lock and was quoted £60. The locksmith arrived in 25 minutes which was fantastic service so far. The locksmith gave a text book 'cowboy tradesman' loud exhale and sigh. He informed me that as my door was a special case but strangely asked me how much I was quoted. He explained that the quote was wrong and it would be £120. He gave me three options, this £120 or drill the lock - which would cost more morning or he would leave. As I was already having panic flushes over not getting my medication on time- His actions forced me into paying the £120. Astonishingly he took a tiny thin metal allen key out is pocket and without any force or application this tiny key simply opened the door via the lock mechanism. I asked is that what doubled the price to which he smirked and replied cooly... "yes". He reexplained that £120 was cheaper than drilling a hole or me been in the cold all night. Locksmiths are specialist experts, but when someone takes advantage of a vulnerable person for financial gain is morally corrupt. I could understand if I was charged double because he went into battle with the lock, taking more time and effort. But this was not the case. Instead he quoted a action that was not appropriate (drill) his Allen key use proved that. I've submitted a request for call back but I doubt I will see my money again.”

“Absolutely the most awful service ever! The engineer couldn’t wait to make as much money as possible! Told me it was an old lock although only 8 years old ( Chubb have told me they last 20 years). Got his drill out and changed it . He said that would cost £159 before VAT . Then the new lock was £229 before VAT!! I question the lock type and he assured me it was a Chubb as I requested. He put it in without showing me the BS standard details and maximum security details as most locksmiths would do. Nothing in the lock that showed any bs standard! Again when I questioned this he said he could take it out but I still have to pay cancellation fees etc . Absolutely appalling crooks. Don’t ever use these people. And also the ring tone is abroad so not sure where the service is from ( the lady I spoke to was also beyond awful) . Never use this company so many better ones out there”

“Today I have been robbed by Keys4U. It was a normal job not an emergency for just changing the multi-locking mechanism lock on my UPVC door. Just for the lock and keep they charged me £161. I had bought exactly the same lock from the local lock Smith for £69 plus vat. When I try to speak with the customer services the lady was very rude and didn't even bother to listen to me. I would suggest you to stay away from them and look around for someone nice with reasonable price.”
