“David Pudney was simply fantastic to deal with on our remortgage. He found us the perfect product for our circumstances and ensured we had a smooth transition from deciding which lender to use and then obtaining the initial offer right through to completion. Cannot recommend him highly enough for any of your mortgage needs. We will definitely be returning to David when we require assistance again.”

“Second experience of dealing with Scott Barron at John Charcol and again a good one. Scott was indispensable in finding a mortgage to suit specific and complex circumstances, then well supported by Louise Cheatle in seeing it through to completion. I would happily use them again and am clear on the value added by brokerages when seeking a good value mortgage.”

“It has been an abslout peace of mind to deal with John Charcol and Harris Zubair in specific. He has helped myself and my wife to get the best mortgage deal as first time buyers and been there for us for every questions and documents we needed through out the process. Harris even helped to get us a great interest rate for the mortgage from our first offer and we really happy and would recommed to anyone with or without selfemployed to use there/his service. We would we be definatly using them for future purchases of property.”

“John Charcol, more specifically Daniel Dordan-Pike and Reanne Monteith, provided my boyfriend and I with the best customer service we have ever received in our lives. We stumbled across John Charcoal from a Google search after we had multiple mortgage brokers tell us that my boyfriend was too much of a complicated applicant due to him being self-employed and not being able to work most of 2020 due to Covid, this on top of the fact we were first time buyers! I submitted a website enquiry late one night and the very next morning, Daniel gave me a call to discuss our case. This phone call was the most amazing first contact and Daniel explained the whole mortgage process so well and clear that I felt like I way buying nothing more than a loaf of bread from the local shop, he just made everything seem so easy and straightforward. Within a matter of days, Daniel provided us with a number of lenders that he confidently felt would accept us (even as complicated applicants). Within 2 weeks, I believe our mortgage application was submitted and it was now in the lenders hands but at no point were we left in the lerch - Daniel was in constant contact with us giving us updates on how the application was going from the lenders. Sadly, the first lender did come back and say no but Daniel was fantastic and straight away raised an appeal to have our application re-evaluated as he truly believed there was nothing for them to say no to. As well as having the appeal running, Daniel also completed a second application with our next lender of choice to ensure that no time would be lost during this stage. Luckily for us, Daniel's appeal to our first lender of choice went through and we had a mortgage offer within about 1 month of our first contact with John Charcol. Daniel was so incredible and efficient that it made us feel so secure during the entire mortgage application process. After we signed our Mortgage Deed, we were then assigned a case handler (Reanne) to help ensure that everything from then to the point of exchange went smoothly. Reanne rang me to introduce herself and once again I immediately felt secure with John Charcol by our side. Unfortunately, our solicitors were probably some of the worst you could imagine but during our entire battle with our Solicitors, Reanne was there every step of the way pushing things forward and just going above and beyond her duty to help us. Even 5 months after our mortgage application had been approved and we had paid for John Charcol's services, Reanne was still on hand helping us get through the process. She was in constant contact checking in on things, liaising with our lenders, chasing our solicitors and at one point even became our IT guru when our solicitors messed up some of our documents. Reanne was the most helpful, responsive and efficient person we have ever come across and the service Reanne provided us was nothing short of perfection. We have been in contact with a number of other employees at John Charcol (Sam Walker, Fiona Allan, Katherine Hollyoake are a few names off the top of my head) and every single one of them have been fantastic and provide us with the highest possible level of service! I am so grateful for Daniel and Reanne and I will recommend them to anyone I possibly can because their help and service has been impeccable and without them, I truly believe we would not be moving into our property! If you are looking for the best mortgage brokers, then John Charcol are the answer!”

“Harris sorts my mortgage for me every time, he’s been super helpful as always. I don’t think I could trust anyone else to manage it, trust is really important in this instance. “This review has taken me much much longer than it should have done, but when moving in a new home life becomes hectic for a while. However, we first contacted Razz over a year ago now, and have recently (a month or so) moved into our house. I can not express enough how easy going Razz was, how quick he got things done but also how laid back he was and wasn’t pushy when we laid back on the house move in the middle of it. When we did get back in contact, he was very quick to start where we had left things. Razz is the most friendliest person throughout the whole house move I have had to deal with, things were always straight forward for him, never a worry on our side and no job was too big for him to complete for us. With being first time buyers and a young couple, there was a lot that was understood as easy on our behalf, but Razz made that very straight forward and spoke in plain English to explain a lot easier to us. Both me and my partner are overwhelmed by his help and without him, the mortgage side of things would have not been as easy, let alone the best deal we could have wished for. I for one was really impressed when we got the figures back. Towards the end of the house move things started to drag and become quite stressful, which had nothing to do with Razz, however, I contacted him with my concerns and straight away he contacted the relevant people and all of a sudden things got moving very quick and in the week we had a moving in date. I will forever recommend Razz to anyone I know who may be moving house. Thank you for the bottom of our hearts to John Charcol and especially Razz for making our lives that little bit easier, being so very friendly and just one call away on every little question or situation I had. Razz your the best at what you do and we will forever be in your debts for making a first time buyer at so much ease with everything. We both really can’t thank you enough, when some companies we used were hard work, YOU lifted a massive weight of our shoulders by working along side you! Your not only known as amazing by us but also by a lot of others I know! Thanks again! Jordan and Lee.”

“John Charcol have been absolutely amazing! As first time buyers especially in these uncertain times, we were really anxious about getting on the property ladder but our mortgage adviser Lawrence was brilliant in answering all of our questions and making sure we were comfortable with all of our decisions. Samantha was also fantastic with explaining all our options regarding insurance policies and the “serious stuff” which made the whole process much easier to understand! We couldn’t recommend John Charcol more highly and are so grateful and lucky to have their expertise during our journey!”

“As two young(ish) self-employed people, my partner and I weren't convinced the type of mortgage we were looking for was going to be possible for us. We spoke to a couple of other mortgage advisors first who weren't able to find the right thing for us, but after speaking to Sophie at John Charcoal, our minds were instantly put at ease. Sophie found us the perfect mortgage so we could buy our dream home in time to save on the stamp duty holiday. After that, Samantha dealt with the rest of the process right through from receiving our mortgage offer to moving into our new home. We couldn't have asked for more helpful advisors. I believe the service was well worth the money, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.”

“Scam advisor, stay away Stay away from John Charcol, time waster and stolen my hard earned money £520 Initially, i was told, i have no pay no money till mortgage is fully approved. After few weeks, i have received a call from my broker Natasha, i have to pay £520 for survey and application fee of 199, application fee of £199 are transferable or refundable in case, there is an issue with a property. After few weeks, I received an email from her, neither of the fees are refundable. What a scam! Stay away from them. Look for better mortgage adviser. Impossible to get hold of them on phone too.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Your adviser was correct when she stated that John Charcol do not charge a fee for our advice until your mortgage is fully approved. As your mortgage has not been approved, you have not been charged your fee. With the majority of mortgages, the lender (not John Charcol) charges a survey fee and for the lender used for your particular circumstances, a non-refundable assessment fee was also charged at outset. These fees were clearly documented and provided to you prior to your mortgage application with this lender. Many thanks, Alice
