Delivery was exactly as stated for which I paid £75 for one role of insulation pricey I thought. Then I recieved an email telling me if delivery failed you would charge £50 to £200 I think the amounts are correct. That really annoyed me on topmof the £70 of so you had already charged me. Never before have I recieved an email from a company threatening me with that. I would never buy from you agsin because of it.

Sincere apologies for the tone of our delivery update Hi there, thank you for sharing this feedback. First, I’m glad to hear your order arrived exactly as scheduled, but I am truly sorry that our delivery message left such a bad taste in your mouth. I hear you, getting a message about extra fees when you’ve already paid for delivery feels like a 'hidden catch.' That was never our intention. Because insulation is so bulky and heavy, the specialist couriers we use charge us heavily for 'failed' deliveries where they have to take the product back to a hub and return the next day. We send that alert to try and protect our customers from those surprise third party charges, but we clearly missed the mark on the 'friendly' scale and made it sound like a threat instead. We’re actually in the process of rewriting those notifications right now to make sure they sound more helpful and less 'scary' thanks to feedback like yours. Extremely poor service, broken promises, and no accountability I ordered insulation boards from this company after being clearly told that orders placed before 11am would be delivered the next day if I paid an £80 delivery charge. I placed my order at 10am and paid the extra fee. The delivery did not arrive the next day. I had builders on site who were paid but unable to work. After calling the company, I was told they were checking with the depot and that delivery would arrive by the end of the day. It did not. The same thing happened on day two — no delivery and more money lost in labour costs. On day three, I was told the order would be dispatched within 90 minutes. Once again, nothing arrived. The delivery finally arrived six days later. Even the delivery driver was surprised, stating the depot is very close to my property. When I later needed to return boards (which I accept was my error), I was informed I had to buy replacements first and then request a return. Two days later I was told the return would only be accepted with a 20% restocking fee, and I would also need to pay return delivery. In total, I spent over £500 on materials and incurred additional costs paying builders for several days due to the company’s failure to meet its delivery promise. I requested compensation and received no response. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Dear Flavio, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the delay in your delivery and the resulting frustration and impact on your project timeline. This was purely down to a simple error with the depot putting the wrong date in the system for delivery. We acknowledge that we failed to meet the next day delivery promise on this occasion. While we know it cannot recover the cost of your builders time, we can confirm that your next day delivery fee was fully refunded as soon as the delay was identified. Regarding the return of materials, our records show that some incorrect items were unfortunately ordered in error at the time of purchase. To resolve this, we assisted you in placing a new order for the correct boards. When arranging the return of the original items, we found that the haulage cost for a collection of the incorrect items would have exceeded the value of the products themselves. In an effort to save you money, we suggested a private sale or a self return to the depot, which you decided on a self return. The 20% restocking fee is a standard requirement from the depot for all returns. We apologize if this, combined with the administrative closing of your ticket after 48 hours of no response, felt like a lack of accountability. Terrible service. Insufficient notice of delivery. No delivery tracking. Penalty threats if not able to receive delivery. Tread very carefully with this company !

Ordered 7 boards of 80 mm. when installing discovered one was 90mm, when I complained was told I wouldn’t get a refund or replacement as I’d cut the board and it was my fault for not checking the order …. It appears they don’t accept any responsibility to ensure they send the correct items….

Delivery man was beyond rude, he did not want to unload the items from the lorry, he ask me if I had a forklift, in a domestic property!! Ridiculous

Well first time using Build4 Less and its not good , order 15th May still not delivered 28th May , failed to deliver twice , they didn't call or contact me about the failed deliveries i had to contact them, still no details, should have been delivered again on the 23rd but no show. E-mailed no response , called and now waiting for a call back, i don't hold much faith in this company i'm expecting they will refund my if they dont deliver . Hold On they just called , its coming later this afternoon ?? i will update tomorrow see what happens either way two weeks for building supplies is a joke, no urgency, jobs getting behind cant say i'm satisfied with the service so far.

Shocking company with fake reviews,spend approx £1400 for insulation and plasterboard,agree a date for delivery.sat around all morning waiting,i decided to call them and was told oooops sorry not being delivered today as issue with lorry.was not contacted to tell me so had to cancel order. Emmet the sales manager said it would take between 5 and 10 working days for refund yet its gone way past this with no sign of refund and wont answer my emails. Shockingly poor way to run a business.

I ordered 36 sheets of insulation on-line, your site said 3 - 5 working days, this was ordered on the 8th of January and didn't receive it until the 21st January, I had to call customer services about 6 times, and was promised a call back each time, that never happened. At one point delivery was promised on the 17th, and did not turn up. This cost me time and money waiting, as I had men on site waiting. I will never use them again, and all should avoid them.

We strive to deliver all orders within our estimated time frame, but, occasionally some orders can take longer than anticipated due to transport factors and other issues that may be outside our control. We have reviewed the call logs and can see that you did indeed call several times to which we either called or emailed back with updates regarding your delivery. We acknowledge that this may have been slower than our normal standards of communication, our apologies for this. We cannot however find any detail on a notification advising delivery would be on the 17th but rather the 21st. Again, please accept our apologies on delivery being outside of our estimated time frame and for the delay in updates.

Our delivery timeframes are estimated and we are sorry that your order was delivered outside of this by one working day. While the majority of orders are delivered within these times, we cannot make a guarantee on this due to possible transport issues outside of our control. In regards to the damage you have mentioned, we have no record of you reporting this to us and our Customer Service Manager has contacted you directly for further details but we have not received a response. If goods arrive damaged, we have a robust system in place to ensure items are replaced as quickly as possible. However, if we are not made aware of damages, we cannot provide any assistance.

placed an order for a customer of mine - he had ordered wrong goods and for the past 4wks ive tried to obtain a returns note and keep getting no reply from their returns department

Despite having order a few times from this company, they have canceled one of our orders £188 order, as we are short, they have cancelled it because it's under £200! making the rest of the sound proof a waste of money

A company worth avoiding! The day before my order was due for delivery, received a text message, email, and phone call all within a minute of one another; the caller claimed they couldn't get the Celotex insulation I ordered, but they could substitute another of similar performance - I had to make a decision urgently otherwise it wouldn't go out on time. I didn't order Celotex, but I had ordered Mannok. I specifically asked about the fire performance of E, to which the caller confirmed it was the same. I refused to give an immediate answer, and insisted on reading the data sheet of the substitute product first (which they had sent in the email). Within less than a minute, I noted the fire class was worse than what I ordered, so I tried to call back. There are no direct dial numbers for people, so I spoke to a generic person who spoke privately to the previous caller - and then reported she had already spoken to me. I had to insist on either speaking directly or they could cancel the order. Five minutes later I had a call back from the original caller, and received a slightly patronising and entirely unconvincing story about how they are sort of the same and one is hard to get further north. Needless to say, order cancelled.

Hi Derek, we are sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered with your order. Unfortunately, as advised by our sales representative, occasionally some brands are not available in certain areas and we offer alternatives that are identical or almost identical. We send the datasheets so you can make an informed choice as to if you wish to proceed with the swap or not. In this case, as you mention, the rating was not what you required and therefore you cancelled the order. Please be aware that any material we recommend as an alternative will achieve the same Uvalue as what was originally ordered.

Appalling, I am a builder and ordered from this outfit because they had a competitive price - Big order. No response from them for 14day days! I tried calling emailing, messaging. Then a full week AFTER the product should have been delivered (two weeks from original order) they finally get in touch saying they cant fulfil the order - but they still have my money and I am waiting for the refund - honestly avoid like a plague or you'll catch a proper case of the bargain burns with these charlatans.

The moisture plasterboard was delivered damaged, placed on bottom of delivery so moisture membrane scraped and compromised. Replacement order was sent but this was also damaged, cracked down the middle. Which must have been obvious when loaded. Still awaiting another delivery replacement. I do not always get notifications of delivery so have to juggle being in to receive. Shame as good value price wise (5 stars) but have to give one star for poor state of delivery. Other plasterboard was also damaged on edges during loading on delivery vehicle. I don’t d not report on receipt and I4less will not replace.

We are genuinely sorry that you received a damaged moisture panel and that the replacement was also damaged, this is not a common occurrence and we appreciate the inconvenience this has caused. After the replacement was delivered you advised us you wished to have the board refunded, you then emailed us two days ago to advise you would prefer the board be replaced. We have now organised this replacement for you. Regarding the other plasterboard, you did not advise us of any issue with these boards at the time until over a week after delivery. We have sent you a number of photographs taken by the driver showing the boards delivered to your address with no apparent damage and a POD signed by you that noted the damaged moisture board only. As stated in our terms of delivery, all irregularities and damages must be noted on delivery paperwork immediately on arrival or, via email to deliveries@insulation4less.co.uk within 24 hours. We hope this clarifies the matter for you.
