Found them online. It looked like a straight forward hassle-free fee agreed in advance service. When they book you in you can't know who you are booked with or contact them prior to your appointment, which is odd if you want to discuss details in advance. Then the selected conveyance contacts you and you have to sign a further agreement, different to the original one with iMyHome. I provided our conveyance all the required details for our valuation, which he chose to ignore. He also ignore all our conversations on the day and went onto over value our property (HTB repayment). I had to complaint to iMyHome who washed their hands and said it was between us and the conveyance. After much pushing our valuation went down and went through without issues with HTB. I am very unhappy as this is not people who do a good job, they just tick boxes, paper push and play it safe for them but at no point they are trying to impartially do a figure, instead they do what they know it will give them "no hassle" at your detriment. I had to do most of the work and then pay for it. TBH this is an industry issue and not particular to iMyHome and I guess my bad for expecting better.

The survey was done quickly and report produced the next day. However, I’ve followed up my email and telephone to get some further information about something in the report and I haven’t had any response.

The survey was organised very quickly and went really well. However, as soon as I signed up I got about 10 emails with quotes who kept emailing over the following weeks which was quite annoying.

From appointing a surveyor to recieving the report it was just under 6 weeks. Surveyor seemed to drag making the appointment to view the house or I may have been inpatient but it was also difficult to get hold of them to what was happening, I found that things moved a lot quicker when I enquired about cancelling within 12 hours a appointment was made to complete the survey

Everything was great - except I was told I would get updates via SMS and email. I got one on the day (at 12:04 - why are you texting people in the middle of the night?) just to explain it would be today, however this was clearly automated. I then expected to get one when the survey had been completed on the same day, but this never came. I had to phone a few days later, as because I was told I would get an update and didn’t, I was worried the survey hadn’t happened. The guy on the phone told me you only get a completion SMS at the end once the report is ready. When I looked at my account online it still said the survey was pending. I think it would be great if: a) SMS at an appropriate time (8am earliest?) b) online account shows more information as to the status (aka ‘survey complete, report being generated’ c) Extra SMS once the survey has been completed However otherwise very good service, value for money and the guy I did speak to over the phone was absolutely brilliant. Very polite, quick and helpful (hopefully this feedback reaches him!)

IMyHome was good as a platform, sorted the survey quickly and answered queries etc. The surveyor they recommended though didn't do a very good job, too little info in the survey, lazy comments that were too general so as a buyer we don't have enough specific info to action some things, and when we got a second specialist surveyor he said basically it wasn't needed and the recommendations were 'cut and paste'. So we wasted money and feel let down. We also asked some question about the report and the answers were the same, lazy, unspecific, basically they couldn't care less. So I thought imyhome was saving me time and more convenient but in the end I wouldn't use again, I would check out local surveyors myself so I could choose who does my job.

Generally the report was what i was looking for. There were a couple of observations by the surveyor which did not correspond to the legal searches which have been carried out eg he thought there was a private septic tank when in fact the development is connected to the main drains and sewers. Possibly more emphasis could have been put on the lack of an up to date test certificate for the electrical system and the central heating system as these are very important internal elements.

While in the end I had a survey done, I don't like the booking process (or lack of one) with this company. When you try to book a survey, they cannot see the diary of the Surveyor. I was given misleading information as to available, bookable dates, which caused huge stress and confusion. Saying that, when I complained, a survey was arranged and carried out very promptly.

It is therefore difficult to give exact dates prior to discussing with the agent or sellers. While we do our best to provide everyone with the soonest possible date, it can take a few days for things to be confirmed by the relevant access contact. The facility that is iMyHome is fine, but the Surveyors used for my survey were poor. The report I could have written myself, and the surveyor failed to mention or spot several issues, including Asbestos roof to the garage, rotten wooden support for the garage roof, which could be moved by hand, and large cracks in the brick wall by the door to the garden from the kitchen , through which daylight could be seen.

We are able to arrange specialist electrical, gas and home services reports, should you wish to get these tested by a suitably qualified individual. If you need a straightforward report on a new property this product works. However if you feel the need to discuss any issues arising this doesn't seem possible. All my queries were referred on through a call centre/receptionist. If I bought again tomorrow I'd go local. The cost difference wasn't substantial.

Covered the basic, I expected more, could not understand the rating that where put against the items, thinks that i thought should have been a 2 or 3 where marked as a 1

The report its self was covering your backs .. ie electrics not tested need a professional .. plumbing the same , even just testing shower/ toilet water pressure need to get a professional , boiler/ heating not checked same as above water pipes ect outside didn’t open cover needs Thames water to check , could be Asbestos In Roof again need to get professional advice ect ect .. so basically You need a professional in to check every particular Field in the property. The chap was very nice on the phone when I contacted him regarding this matter basically Said whats Written above.. so no come back what so ever . Regards.

The survey went well and was very thorough. The booking of it caused a few issues, the vendor of the house we were buying was given a 4 hour window as to when the surveyor would be coming. Due to the nature of his job this would have been very difficult. On his behalf I had to ring up to request a more definite slot, I got told they cant book in actual times and that they don't have that option. I think some flexibility for the booking staff is needed. The options that were put to me not in a bad way were take the slot or cancellation and refund Eventually they said they would ring the vendor and try and sort something out. They did this and he did get a more definite time. It shouldnt have had to be that difficult

Straightforward to set up and pay, and seemed quick to pass on the details to the surveyors but the surveyors sat on the request for a fair few days. This led to delays.
