Thank you for your review. According to our instruction sheet it appears that we completed the report within the agreed timescales and the report meets our internal Quality and Audit checks. We would welcome a discussion regarding your concerns and it should be noted that up until this point we have not received any correspondence regarding this.

Sorry to hear the you were not satisfied with the turnaround. We have had a look into your case, the instruction was received on 27/04/2018 and the appointment date was 09/05/2018 (6 working days) the report was delivered 48 hours after the inspection date. It should also be noted that we lost a day because of the Bank Holiday. We wish you well with the purchase.

“Service was fast, but the report contains many facts which were told by some neighbor to the surveyor. Most of those facts were not true as confirmed by the solicitors. I wonder a surveyor can take words of mouth for facts and not investigate himself, this doesn't count as professional. Only good thing is that he didn't hide those facts and mentioned so that I was able to verify those.”

“survey as expected accept for one surprise comment of saying that the property is in a Radon Gas affected area. In these instances it would be really good if the surveyor had access to a Geiger counter to give some idea of how much the property is affected. Other professional tests by UK Radon take 3 months to carry out and vendors not interested in check the levels before selling.”

Dear Carol, Thank you for taking the time to complete your review of iMyHome.co.uk. The issue of radon comes up when buying and selling properties. The advise from the Government is that anyone can find out if a property is in a radon Affected Area by completing an online search. The search will tell you the chance of that property having a high radon level, which we have advised you of. If you are buying in a radon Affected Area, you may want to consider the following points: 1) Ask the current owners if they have completed a three month radon test. 2) If so ask for a copy of the report. 3) If not, discuss a retention with your solicitor and test when you move in. As Chartered Surveyors we do have a duty of care to inform you if the property is in a high risk area but your legal representative should make relevant enquiries regarding its status and your personal position in this regard.
