I rarely write reviews. I am writing this one because I am angry, because I am justified in being angry, and because if this saves even one person from the experience I had, it will have been worth every word. Immigration Advice Service (IAS) damaged one of the most important processes of my life. Not through bad luck. Not through the complexity of immigration law. Through negligence, incompetence, and what I can only describe as a cynical, sales-first business model that treats clients as revenue sources rather than human beings navigating life-changing circumstances. Here is my story. Every word of it is true. I came to IAS at the start of a US green card application. I was transparent from day one. I gave them everything they needed to understand my situation fully. The advice they gave me in return was wrong. Not nuanced. Not incomplete. Wrong. I followed that advice in good faith because I was paying professionals who I believed knew what they were doing. They did not. IAS then referred me to an external adviser to handle part of my case. This referral cost me additional money on top of what I had already paid IAS. What they failed to mention, or failed to know because they clearly did not do any due diligence whatsoever, was that this adviser was in the process of closing their business. I discovered this myself, the hard way, after paying them. The adviser was unresponsive. Disorganised. Completely unable to deliver even the basics. I was left chasing them constantly, correcting forms myself, doing the job I had paid two separate companies to do. IAS had outsourced my case to a sinking ship and said nothing. When I raised this with IAS, when I went back to the company I had originally trusted with my case and explained what had happened, they did not apologise. They did not take responsibility. They did not offer any form of redress. They tried to sell me more services. Let that land for a moment. IAS created the problem. IAS made money referring me to someone who failed me. And when I came to them with the consequences of their own referral, their answer was another invoice. This is not a company that made a mistake and tried to fix it. This is a company that made a mistake and tried to monetise it. The incompetence of their original advice became even more apparent at this point. When proposing these additional services, IAS raised details about my own case as though they were encountering them for the first time. Details I had given them at the very beginning of our relationship. My case had clearly never been properly read, properly assessed, or properly understood. I had been given incorrect advice built on a foundation of not actually knowing what they were doing. At no point during any of this did IAS have any meaningful oversight of my case. They did not know I had emigrated. Let that sink in. I had moved countries and my immigration advisers, the people I was paying to manage this process, had no idea. My named representative quietly left the company at some point and nobody told me. No auto-reply on their email. No handover to a colleague. No phone call. No letter. I was a paying client and I had simply ceased to exist to them. Out of sight, out of mind, out of pocket. I submitted a formal written complaint setting out everything above in detail. I gave IAS the opportunity to respond, to acknowledge what had happened, to offer even a token gesture that would show they understood the impact of their failures on my life. That complaint has now sat ignored for over 7 days. No response. No acknowledgement. Not even a automated reply confirming receipt. What I did receive during that same period was a marketing email requesting a video review. A video review. I want you to sit with that for a moment. A formal complaint, ignored. A request for a video testimonial, sent. That is IAS. That is exactly who they are and exactly what they value. They want your five star video. They do not want to hear about the ways they failed you. I am now submitting a formal complaint to the Immigration Advice Authority, the body that regulates companies like IAS. I would urge anyone who has had a similar experience to do the same. The regulator’s details are easily found online. Use them. To anyone reading this who is considering using IAS, please hear me. Immigration processes are stressful, expensive, and consequential. You deserve a company that reads your file, understands your situation, vets the people they refer you to, notices when you have emigrated, and picks up the phone when something goes wrong. IAS is not that company. I know this because I trusted them to be, and they proved otherwise at every single turn. They were quick enough to take my money. Everything after that was silence, incompetence, and upselling. Do not use Immigration Advice Service. Not for anything. Not ever.

The IAS has been of incredible help. I needed to switch from student to family route and we have been helped and supported through it all thanks to Elena Ampova who helped us with document checking and answered all my questions. Our application was successful and we will definitely be going back to IAS in the future if we ever needed.

My thanks and gratitude to Mrs Kurshida Begum, I had a call from her yesterday telling that I have been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain. Over the last 10 years, I have been with IAS, I have been seen, looked after. The service from the start has been excellent, the advice and guidance has always been brilliant. Anytime I had a question, I knew Mrs Begum was at the on other end of the phone or email, knowing her working days helped me to know when she would be available to contact her and when to expect a reply to my emails, which was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend Mrs Kushida Begum and IAS, for the service and professionalism that I received, I Definitely will use them again. Many thanks for all you do Best wishes Miriam

We are interested Irish citizenship for my mother and after paying €250 for an initial consultation, we were told she was a good candidate to apply for citizenship through the Foreign Births Register. For a considerable fee, IAS said they could handle everything for us from getting documents to setting up the account. After wiring the money in April 2025, we were assigned an immigration lawyer and a “Client Relationship Officer” who were both very unresponsive. The lawyer was often “reviewing my case” and weeks would go by without any meaningful response to my inquiries. On two different occasions, they worked with us to set up our online account on the government website; however, both accounts expired because we did not have the proper forms ready for submission. We had paid for IAS to lead us through the process and do the work, but after 6 months with nothing to show for it, I took the time to carefully research what was required. I then realized that the lawyer was pursuing citizenship through Naturalization and not through the Foreign Birth Registry. (Which explains why they chose to ignore my direct questions and instead sent one sentence email responses with ever-changing advice). At this point, I asked for a partial refund, since the work they had done to this point went against their initial recommendation and we had nothing to show for it. No surprise here that they are unresponsive. At this point, unless I’m willing to spend a lot more of my time arguing with this incompetent group, I don’t hold out any hope of seeing a partial refund. I strongly advise against using this firm, especially since as other reviewers have said, they do not bring to the table anything that you can’t read for yourself on the government website.
