We are interested Irish citizenship for my mother and after paying €250 for an initial consultation, we were told she was a good candidate to apply for citizenship through the Foreign Births Register. For a considerable fee, IAS said they could handle everything for us from getting documents to setting up the account. After wiring the money in April 2025, we were assigned an immigration lawyer and a “Client Relationship Officer” who were both very unresponsive. The lawyer was often “reviewing my case” and weeks would go by without any meaningful response to my inquiries. On two different occasions, they worked with us to set up our online account on the government website; however, both accounts expired because we did not have the proper forms ready for submission. We had paid for IAS to lead us through the process and do the work, but after 6 months with nothing to show for it, I took the time to carefully research what was required. I then realized that the lawyer was pursuing citizenship through Naturalization and not through the Foreign Birth Registry. (Which explains why they chose to ignore my direct questions and instead sent one sentence email responses with ever-changing advice). At this point, I asked for a partial refund, since the work they had done to this point went against their initial recommendation and we had nothing to show for it. No surprise here that they are unresponsive. At this point, unless I’m willing to spend a lot more of my time arguing with this incompetent group, I don’t hold out any hope of seeing a partial refund. I strongly advise against using this firm, especially since as other reviewers have said, they do not bring to the table anything that you can’t read for yourself on the government website.

Serious Concerns Regarding Legal Representation and Advice Provided I recently recommended your services to a friend who had been attempting, unsuccessfully, to obtain a dependant visa for his child. By the time he approached your organisation, his application had already been rejected multiple times. He fully explained the history of the case and provided all relevant information regarding the previous refusals. Despite this, instead of receiving robust legal representation and a carefully prepared fresh application with strengthened supporting evidence, your firm resubmitted largely the same information, supported by weak evidence that had already been rejected. Unsurprisingly, the application was refused again. What is particularly concerning is that, following this further refusal, the only solutions now being offered are entirely different visa routes, giving the clear impression that your organisation is attempting to sell an alternative service after the failure of the original application. This approach feels both inappropriate and potentially predatory. Given that all of the relevant information was available to you from the outset, I find it extremely troubling that these alternative routes were not presented at the start, particularly if the original route had little realistic prospect of success. There appears to have been a significant lack of diligence and professional effort in properly preparing and submitting a strong application on your part.

Terrible to respond and have only just partially refunded my deposit after four months of requests.

I engaged Immigration Advice Service (IAS) to handle my visa renewal. The Home Office asked IAS more than once to provide specific evidence about my UK company’s activities. Instead of supplying this, IAS replied that the evidence was “not required.” Because of this refusal to provide what the Home Office explicitly requested, my application was refused. This has caused me serious financial and personal harm. I am now pursuing a formal complaint with the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA). I am sharing this so that others are aware of my experience when considering IAS for representation.

Extremely overpriced and disappointing. They fail to provide proper advice and are unresponsive. They didn’t show up for the scheduled appointment, yet lied about it and blamed the client instead. They deducted a large amount from the deposit claiming it was for 'services rendered', even though they provided almost nothing. The advice they gave was worse than what you’d get from ChatGPT — seriously poor quality. My sincere advice to anyone: do not use their services.

Despite paying a significant fee, the quality of service was utterly unacceptable. I would never recommend any of my friends to start wasting time with them.

I requested a consultation about the founder/global talent visas. I got much better and more detailed advice from chat GPT. The advisor that I got was unable to clarify the details that I was interested in. It seemed like the advisor was just reading the visas specifications off the official government website. When I asked for clarifications of the detail I got nothing. Wasted 180 pounds. When I got a *free* consultation with a different legal firm (OTB), it was immediately obvious the advisor knew what he was talking about and he was able to answer my questions in depth.

I rang up a few minutes ago based on a query for a client asking whether buying a property in the UK would give them residency and citizenship. He said they would only be able to answer the question if I gave them details of my client despite the fact that their website specifically provides some content and says they can answer questions. He asked me how could he possibly answer my question without speaking directly to my client. I was blown away by the by both the question and the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the tone. The lack of respect I would definitely not refer anyone to them.

Complete waste of £250. Paid for the initial consultation, was sent an email less than 24 hours before my call asking for a copy of my CV% which landed in my junk, then had a 25 minute call that I pretty much had to lead by asking questions, they didn't give me any real advice, just answered *some* of my questions, and left me feeling less clear on the process than when I started. Wish I'd have looked for someone a bit more proactive.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this law firm in applying for the UK Global Talent Visa. My case was handled by Mariam Adebayo, and I would not recommend her services to anyone. Despite paying a significant fee, the quality of service was utterly unacceptable. The so-called “guidance” I received went little beyond what is publicly available on the Tech Nation website. There was almost no added value or strategic advice that justified hiring this firm at all. The documents prepared by Mariam Adebayo were consistently careless and poorly written. Multiple drafts were sent to me containing basic grammatical mistakes and clear evidence that my case was not being given proper attention. Even after I provided detailed corrections, it took multiple back-and-forth exchanges to have obvious errors addressed — a process that wasted both time and trust. Communication was equally poor. Responses were slow throughout. After my visa application was rejected, I emailed to arrange a follow-up call — a call that was originally proposed by the firm themselves — and never received any reply. Given the fees charged, the critical importance of the application, and the firm’s marketing of “expertise” in this area, I find this level of service entirely unprofessional. I will be sharing this review widely so that others are aware of my experience with Mariam Adebayo and this firm.

I email them to get a quote on a service, they asked me for my phone number to give me a call, when I provided it to them, Abigail asked what was it that I needed as my first email was blank for them - when it was clearly stated on the subject of the email as well. I did send her a copy of the first email and I am still waiting a response a week later... Looks like they don't want people to pay them, they just want people to take their business elsewhere? Completely ridiculous...

An absolutely rubbish service. I spoke to an alleged expert in my personal circumstances who provided zero information that was either useful or expert. The information he provided I had already discovered through my own research. When I asked questions he was unable to provide a definitive answer and I left the session with no more knowledge than which I had entered. The transcript I was promised never arrived despite numerous email requests. Overall a complete waste of my time and not insignificant amount of money.
