“First time shopping with Hortology and couldn’t fault from start to Finnish, I was in need of guidance as I needed a pet friendly plant and the easy to use website navigated me and filtered down my to suit my needs. The plant came quickly and in damaged, will definitely use again and recommend ( + my plant is stunning ) !!”

“Whilst the plants arrived on time, were healthy and extremely well packaged, one of the plants didn't look very much like the picture on the website. I queried this and was given a refund. Very good service”

“On the whole not bad, I’ve had 2 deliveries and about 8 plants and a pot so far. All plants have been really healthy and very well packaged with fast delivery! I did buy a larger plant on my last order that was at lest 10cm shorter than advertised, I was expecting a taller and fuller plant, what I received was not worth the money. Hortology advised I had received the correct plant and gave me 10% off or offered to collect the plant free of charge, although disappointing they were at least willing to take it back! I have kept the plant as it was a nice specimen. I have had one pot from them and it was very well packaged and a lovely pot. Despite a slight disappointment with my smaller than expected plant, I would buy again due to quality of the plants and their willingness to correct any issues.”

“Hello! I recently ordered a lovely cactus and pot for my sister in law. The delivery option is the reason why I ordered from this business as I live in the United States. The website allowed me to pay through the SHOP App which is wonderfully convenient and my sister In law received a wonderful gift. Delivery was quick and I even received a confirmation picture of the delivery. Excellent service! I’d recommend this business. The care the staff show is clearly reflected in their products.”

“Beautiful pots, a mountain of packaging. Each pot was carefully packed in a box with lots of padding, and then in another box with lots of padding. I appreciate Hortology need to avoid breakages, but the packaging was outrageous. I tiny plant that I ordered came in a 40 or 50cm cubed box. I needed a trip to the tip just to get rid of it all - a boot almost full of cardboard.”

Hi Grattan Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear you needed a trip to the tip! Unfortuantly we do need sufficient packaging to protect our pots in transit. We review our processes regularly in order to ensure we are only using what is required. We have found that any less cushioning significantly increases the amount of breakages, which means resending the item, so double the overall amount of packaging used and two journeys rather than one, which has more impact on the environment. The internal box is that which is supplied by that manufactrur. It is thin and not suitable for transit, hence we need to pack our pots into a proper box for sending to you. We do add a little extra paper at times in the corners of the product box to brace the pot internally if there is a lot of excess space. With respect to your small plant, it looks like this was sent in a 30cm box due to packaging productions issues reasulting in a lack of smaller boxes at the time, for which we apologise. Please be assured our cardboard boxes and paper packaging are all made from recycled material and are fully recyclable. If we can provide any further information please do let us know.
