“I ordered my plant pot twice, and both times it was not delivered. I had to follow up repeatedly for this to be rectified and eventually it was sent by another courier, which in total was 6 weeks from ordering.”

Hello, Thank you for your order and for taking the time to leave a review. We're so sorry that your pot didn't arrive as expected and for any frustration this caused. Your order was placed on 14th June and dispatched on 17th June using a next day delivery service. Unfortunately, the courier was unable to deliver to the selected pick-up location and the parcel could not subsequently be located. As soon as we became aware of this, we contacted the courier to investigate and, in the meantime, arranged a replacement for you. Unfortunately, the replacement also could not be delivered to the pick-up location and was therefore returned to us. Once it was back with us, we arranged for your order to be re-sent via a different courier directly to your address on a day that suited you, to help ensure it reached you as quickly as possible. We completely understand how disappointing and frustrating this must have been, and we're very sorry for the delay. “I have been using Hortology for a couple of years now, mainly for pots. But I get on very well with there house plant potting compost. My flat is full of around 50 plants all looking very nice and really I have only brought pots compost and sundries from hortology and have always found them friendly to deal with.”

“Very impressed with the range of large indoor plant pots, which I was struggling to find elsewhere for a couple of houseplants which have grown! Their customer service team got in touch about an imperfection on the pot, which was very helpful to know about upfront. Delivery was very quick, and I'm really pleased with the pots we received. Would use again!”

“I cannot praise this company enough. I bought the plant and then they came back and explained it wasn't as perfect as they would - if I still wanted it they would give me a discount, which I took. Then I asked them to delay posting the plant as I was having work completed on my house and would not be there. They were very happy to do this and it arrived on the exact day I wanted. Again it was packed to its usual standard so it arrived in perfect condition. Thank guys for all your help. Penny A”

Hi Margaret Thank you for your feedback. We totally understand your frustration as we feel it too. We can promise you that we only pass a proportion of the actual courier charges on to our customers. The cost that we incur is significantly higher. Sadly courier costs have increased significantly with many couriers adding fuel surcharges which have also increased significantly due to oil prices. The cost of board for our boxes has also increased significantly. The courier pricing strategies are beyond our control. We absorb as much as possible but do ask for a contribution towards the costs of getting your goods to you. Our preference is to be transparent about shipping charges rather than trying to hide it within the cost of a product. We believe this is a fairer model for most customers. I note you are based in an area that incurs even further surcharges from the couriers being located further from many of the UK hubs, which would make shipping even more expensive for you. We totally understand if this means you no longer wish to purchase from us but would be sorry to see you go. Your Hortology Team
