Advertise things that they obviously don't actually have in stock and then after ordering say there is a supply problem. Common problem these days.

Unfortunately the colour was nothing like the one advertised, I know they are all slightly different but the colour green was so dark all over (in daylight) and indoors it almost looked as if the colour was black, the supposedly orange top was almost non existent with just a few splodges here and there around the top. After speaking to them and showing them photographs they gave me a very small refund. Not sure I would shop there again as could not take the chance on colour of things.

I purchased a cactus, the packaging was very poor and it arrived very damaged, I asked for a replacement and for it to be correctly packaged this time .but this was also damaged, so I received a refund less this shipping costs. Not sure why I had to pay the shipping as it was the only item I purchased. This all took a long time to sort - I had emailed them directly but they said they didn't receive them.. something wrong with their email system ? Emails did work when I emailed them through their contact form. In the meantime I did contact them via Facebook and their social media person was helpful

was given a voucher as a present for £25, its hard to find a decmt plant for this price plus postage is another £5 . My local nursury has an excellent house plant section , same plant was basically half price. Nice plants but far too expensive.

Good and bad experiences recently - a lovely plant pot which arrived well-packed and exactly what I was looking for. I subsquently ordered a Lisbon plant pot stand, which was extremely over-priced for what arrived particularly when postage costs are taken into account. It was poorly made, unfinished and the legs were different lengths so it wobbled.

I received my plant in poor condition reported it straight away was told if I had read the conditions it says it can be nearly dead when you receive it . After trying to revive it what leafs are left have gone all brown! If this is posting plants go to your local garden centre and bring it home yourself. Unhappy customer Robert

We truly regret any misunderstanding that occurred when you reached out to us concerning the state of your plant upon arrival. As your initial contact with us was in regards to leave loss and one leaf being damaged we did advise that unfortunately due to the fragile nature of the stems and leaves of the Pachira, some leaf/stem loss/damage may occur despite our best efforts to avoid this. Please rest assured that we thoroughly inspect the health of all our plants before they are sent out, as we aim to deliver them in the best possible condition. Really nice pots but the sizing on the website for both pots (from separate collections) were not accurate, so I’d be careful if you’re wishing to purchase specific sized pots.

Pot sizes can vary to some extent due to their handmade nature but the sizes provided should always be there or thereabouts. If they are significantly different and they are therefore unsuitable we would usually offer a free collection to return them. Unfortunately this was disappointing. The plant was tiny, dry and shriveled and the pot ordered according to the dimensions on the website was too big. The sad plant is dead after three weeks and the pot is empty.

Not your fault. I think I just ordered badly. Delivery was prompt, and you managed to do it on the day, although you didn't think you could. I thought the leaf was much brighter and lighter than it is in reality, and I don't much like the pot. I chose carefully, but it is one of the hazards of buying from a picture. It was quite an expensive present but isn't at all interesting. I have seen much nicer at Waitrose for about half the price. My previous experience of Hortology was excellent, so I am not giving up on you

Ordered 3 plants, 2 ferns and a palm. When they arrived the compost in the pots was as dry a dust- no exaggeration. The ferns seem okay after TLC, the palm has die back on a few fronds. Will not use the company again, there are far better out there.

We do show a selection of images on our pot product pages to show the variation in the colour/shade we expect to see. As they are handmade, every one is unique and we do mention on their page that slight imperfections and variations may occur in colour, shape and size. We also subsidise our delivery costs quite significantly. When only ordering very small plants we do appreciate that £4.99 may seem a lot relatively speaking, however delivery is a flat rate for all orders up to a value of £150 and you can get a lot of pots and plants for the same delivery charge making it very cost effective. Hi William Thank you for your review. You order was mainly plants and pots from us, all of which were all grown or made in Europe which has confused us somewhat? We do offer some accessories that are sourced from China such as atomisers and other accessories. However if you are unhappy with the items you have purchased you are welcome to return them for refund. Your Hortology Team

I was told my order wouldn't be shipped until the cold spell was over, then it got shipped anyway two weeks later when temperatures were still below zero. Two of the plants I ordered arrived looking pretty sad. I wouldn't have minded waiting if it meant the plants would be better off, but now I neither got good-looking plants nor an order that arrived on time...

Hi Lovisa We are sorry to hear your plants did not arrive in good condition. Why would you not just let us know so we can put things right for you? Having checked back on your order, it was not delayed more than 1 day beyond original expectation due to the out of stock item that was ordered that had a 1-2 week lead time? We had originally asked if you would like the plants sent in advance whilst waiting for the pot, but then that really cold sub-zero weather came along and we stopped shipping plants for the spell. However temperatures were back to acceptable conditions when your plants were dispatched so there should not be any cold weather damage. If they have suffered in transit however, all you need do is let us know and send a photo at the time..... Your Hortology Team
