Fridge not cooling. Quoted £186 for call out and fix. Can buy a new one for that price.

Hi Philip, sorry to hear you did not like the price we quoted. The price was for a fixed cost repair so covers multiple call-outs if necessary, covering parts and labour, plus guarantees repairs for a year. If you change your mind please do not hesitate to give us a call on 0800 8654 111.

Was lead to believe that I'd have some say in when repair would happen but just found out I can only specify a day. No point saving a bit on repair if I have to lose a day's pay waiting in for fitter. Immediate cancellation only solution. I knew there had to be a catch!

Hi Andy, sorry to hear we were not able to provide the service you desired. Our engineers are often very busy and we can only be somewhat flexible with the window of time we offer for repairs.

The "salesperson" said I would have an engineer come to look at my freezer in 2 days time. When I eventually got to speak with the engineers it was going to take a lot more time than that. I ended up speaking with a lot of people and got no joy, so I cancelled the contract and asked a local firm to step in.

The agreed repair was for a provisional date but we understand how frustrating it is that it had to be changed. We're sorry to hear our service was not as expected. Your repair was refunded.

Overpriced repair, for which I had to take out insurance I didn't want. Not informed what time the engineer would attend on the day. Waited in until 4:00pm, when he turned up but he couldn't repair our cooker as he "didn't do gas" - without doubt one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had in my entire lifetime.

Told an appointment booked - it wasn't. Missold. Got a refund but sent by cheque rather than back on to card. Would not recommend them.

Nothing went right with Go Assist which after a few months changed to Big Warranties. I insured my washer dryer which cost £976 with them. I had insurance for two years. My machine broke down 20 months into the insurance period and after numerous calls and complaints, four weeks later i get an email that they can't repair it and they will pay me £130 . WHAT!?!?! PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE INSURANCE COMPANIES THEY ARE SEVERAL COMPANIES UNDER ONE MANAGEMENT. BEWARE!

Warning...Do Not go anywhere near Go Assist/Big Warranties!! When my Daewoo American style fridge/freezer developed a problem with the freezer and water dispenser I contacted Go Assist who quoted me a fixed price repair of £179.99 together with a compulsory purchase of a 12 month warranty costing £10.94 per month for 12 months from Big Warranties..I was assured that if the appliance could not be repaired then they would contribute towards the purchase of a new one..When the engineer from Eastern Domestics called he identified the problems whereby the main circuit board and the water valve were faulty.. I was then told by Go Assist that the warranty limit did not run to the cost of the parts needed and I would have to pay the balance..so I paid a further £78.93 for the circuit board.Then I was told that the valve was out of stock at their suppliers..after going online myself after 5mins. I found an alternative and informed Go Assist.. they then came back and said I would need to pay another £27.97 to cover the extra cost required by the alternative supplier.. a week later the engineer came back and fitted the new parts and said to wait for 24hrs to let things settle and start working.. it was obvious the next day that things were no different with the freezer and in fact the water was dispensing even slower than before the new valve had been fitted!..so the engineer called yet again and diagnosed that the compressor was at fault and due to the gas in the system being made obsolete the whole appliance was deemed unrepairable! He sent his report to Big Warranties and when they eventually contacted me 5 days later they said that due to the terms of the warranty I was not entitled to any reimbursement even though I had paid nearly £300 to cover the fixed cost repair, extra cost of parts and one months warranty instalment..it made no difference when I said that it was the engineer who diagnosed the problems incorrectly and I wouldn't have needed to pay out any if he had got it right first time.. I am not happy to say the least as after waiting for 4 weeks from when the fault first started to being told that I will get nothing at all I am now having to buy a new appliance costing £810 which in real terms is £1110 due to what I have already been conned into paying out!! Avoid these cowboy outfits at all costs which includes Go Assist..Big Warranties and Eastern Domestic!!!

Avoid this company! My gas oven needed a thermostat as advised by the engineer that called. However as my built in oven was old the part wasn't available but it's taken a week to find out after numerous attempts to contact them and emails. I am awaiting return of my money. It was taken same day that the job was booked but how long will it take to pay me back. A no go company.!!!! Let's see outcome!!!

DO NOT BE TAKEN IN - AVOID GO ASSIST / BIG WARRANTIES AT ALL COSTS. I rang to book a dishwasher repair, but said i would ring back after discussing with my partner. The saleswoman suggested I book to hold the repair time slot, and i could easily cancel later if i changed my mind. I booked , and then decided to cancel less than an hour later. I phoned and emailed to cancel repeatedly over the next four days. I was often told that i needed the Customer Care department , but they were either busy or not working that day. I asked for a direct dial number for that department but was told there wasn't one. Despite emailing to cancel that same day, the payments have been taken from my credit card account. I am still waiting for this to be resolved. I feel I have been misled , it has wasted a lot of time, and caused a lot of stress, and , as i say, remains unresolved.

To date the service has been terrible, we were told that the parts were on order to only then hear nothing for weeks. Once chased they then said that the parts weren't available. It was only when we started to ask for a refund that they explained the parts were once again available. It has now been another week and we are still waiting. I will never use this company again and will be spreading the word to everyone I know. Stay clear unless you want to lose your money for nothing.

Booked a services with them to fix a minor leak, when the engineers came to fix the machine they made the condition worse as machine started flooding. call again to fix it and they said had to wait for the parts which took two months to arrive. and even after the second attempt they could not fix it. and when asked for refund they come with all excuses and denied the refund. very bad company and very bad customer service please dont use them at all. consider your money is lost.

Everything!! They take your money. The numbers provided do not work or constantly ring out. They do not respond to emails. We actually got an appointment to fix our dishwasher 6 days after first missed apt we got a call 20mins before apt to say on their way. NEVER turned up and now we can get no response. This company is the worst ever if I could score -5 I would

Booked and paid for a repair. No one came. Have been trying to get an answer from customer service for the last two days. No answer. Very easy to get hold of the sales team though !!!!!

I feel like I've been conned. I paid for my cooker hood to be fixed, they sent out an engineer who sprayed the motor with silicone and it's now not extracting anything at all. when I complained I got fobbed off that they were going to dispute it and call me back but they never do. Now I spent the whole day calling but I'm just continuously on hold. Absolute rip off and I can see that I will never see any money back or have an appliance that's fixed.

We Have a Smeg Range Cooker with an oven which is not working. Go Assist were supposed to get it fixed for us. After six weeks and two visits arranged by Go Assist the oven id still not working. On investigation the company who were supposed to fix the problem are not recognised by Smeg. I contacted Smeg as follows: We have just moved to a house in Whitegate which has a Smeg Range Cooker. The oven did not work so we went on the internet and a Company selected by "Go Assist" arranged for a non Smeg Registered repair company of fix it. Two days they did not turn up and two days when they arrived very late they made a botched repair - the oven is still not working. We contacted Smeg directly who told us: I am sorry to hear of the problem with your repair. --- As North West Appliances is not one of our Smeg registered Engineers there isn't anything we can do. Smeg volunteered to send us full names and addresses of the Smeg registered engineers in our area. So at present after paying a total of about £260+ we still have an oven which does not work - Go Assist are not interested to help. So beware of their services.

Wanted to get my fridge freezer repaired as the fridge wasn't cooling. Most likely from a faulty heating thermostat which would cost £30. Company rang me to quote saying that it would be £138 but I had to sign up to insurance at £5 a month and they had reduced the cost of repair for this. When I said I categorically don't want the insurance just the repair they said that it comes as a package and I didn't have that option so they hadn't really discounted the repair they are just selling insurance. What a con! Told them I will get someone else.

Unable to fix door on fridge but still got charged £60 because not economical to repair. Totally useless service for large repairs. Big mistake to use. Got the impression that was all they were interested was the £60W. ill avoid.

Hi Steve. Our priority is to fix the appliance when possible, however like you said it was uneconomical to do so. As agreed before the service, the charge covers the engineer call-out and administration. We're sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience with Go Assist on this occasion.

I played £160 for a fridge freezer to be fixed. It took 3 months of engineer revisits to decide it couldn't be fixed. Then I found out that as a part had been replaced I didn't qualify for the money back (minus an admin fee).
