“Appalling service DO NOT USE!!! Seven weeks after I reported a problem with my oven it still hadn’t been fixed even though I’d paid £250 for parts and labour. When I rang to cancel they refused to give me a full refund and charged me £60. Call handlers are unhelpful. Purely a money making company.”

“They fixed my oven last year. Took more than a month to finally get it fixed. Roll on a year later they’ve taken £89.99 from my credit card. When I phone them, it’s because I had a years free membership with them, and now have to pay! Nothing was mentioned at the time about this free years membership. They said I would have got a email to tell me I now had to pay for this ‘membership’, no email sent to me! They have now cancelled the membership, and refunded me a pro rata amount of £52.49. So still £37 out of pocket. Disgraceful firm, keep well away from them.”

“They are very rude i have booked plumber from assist they charge me £169 but some reason i cancel my appointment and ask to refund me but ghey decline to refund me they are to rude behaviour. I have not going in future with him. I also ask you can charge some charges and half pay me back but they say no thanks”

“Signed up to Go Assist via the telephone. Little detail given no terms and conditions referred to. They use agents not employees to fix. The agents were good and unofficiallyquoted £220. Go Assistquoted £704 with no detail about parts or labour. I rechecked with the agents and after long talks with go Assist they said the parts were just in case and if not used then I would get a refund. I had had enough and cancelled my membership after 5 days, and was charged a further months subscription and £50 for the privilege. They have a small customer service team who seem geared up to avoid making any restitution and it seems impossible to go higher fora second look. Hugely frustrating, and in my view a company toavoid”

“Ooo where do I start...part 1 friendly customer service..took £139 upfront to detect and repair a leak. Part 2. Waited 2 days and they send a plumber around to fix my stopcock..( I asked for leak to be detected and repaired)..portsmouth water said nothing wrong with stopcock.stop cocktail.. Parr 3 phoned up go assist to tell them wrong bloke sent around please send around proper person to detect leak.( by the way they said it must have been my fault by telling them wrong info)..getting angry at this point..and they will send appropriate personal around to fix job which I asked for...since then I have had to phone up go assist 3 times just to be told they will get it arranged...now did they?...of course the answer is no...and I am still waiting..now I am going to ask for money back when they are open...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY”

“I was pleased with booking process but my oven now works and I have tried calling all morning - no answer - I want to cancel The appointment and get a refund . I was assured this would not be a problem . I emailed and my email has been blocked”

“An engineer came to repair our boiler. Reported that the parts were unavailable or it was 'uneconomical to repair'. This is despite the fact that the parts are available. The company claims to repair rather than replace in their adverts. The company is then difficult to contact and the chat agent cuts you off after a minute of trying to put you through to an agent. All this despite paying a membership fee. Will be going to a small claims court.”

“Contacted go assist to ask if they could provide a new oven door as mine was unfixable I was told by Alex they could provide me with the door I needed we discussed the colour make and model. I was then told an engineer would bring it out within 2 days. I went on to say I didn't need the engineer as it was very simple to put back on and I was happy for it to be posted out. But was quickly told it was protocol for go assist for the engineer to be present. 2 days later an confused engineer landed with no door. Then I received a message from go assist saying my oven door was unfixable.i called them and was told they was nothing they could or would do about”

“Terrible company. Paid £90 call out and was told an engineer would be out within 2 days to repair my fridge freezer. The engineer was suppose to come out on Monday. Messaged and said been a mix up would be out next day. One excuse after another. Was told would send another engineer. By Friday after being let down 4 times, i cancelled the engineer. I have been told i cannot have a refund. I am waiting to hear from Go assist, as i want my call out fee back.”

“Awful company. I rejected the estimate of £970 to fix a microwave combination oven. I asked for the insurance I had paid back as the work wasn’t done. They deducted £50 for my cancellation even though I did tell them I wasn’t going ahead after a week. Steer clear of this company at all costs.”

“Stay away. Expensive for no reason, they may be polite but it's still very scammy. Was quoted more for repair than a new microwave would cost. I feel stupid falling for this.”

“Unfortunately I've had the same experience as everyone else, charged £148.99 with the discount for taking out the cover, didn't fix the problem with washing machine just pulled it out and put it back without putting waste pipe back, so flooded the kitchen, then when I cancelled the policy then took a further £50, they did eventually refund the 50 but I had still paid 148.99 for nothing except a flooded kitchen, got a local plumber to do the job, do not use go assist!”

“I unfortunately had to put one star so that I was able to voice my utter disgust for this incompetent bunch of charlatans. Paid £139 for a call out to look at my dishwasher. After several date changes an engineer turned up after thinking he was coming to look at a gas cooker. He said it needed parts…….paid £200 for them. He turned up to fit them and said it needed more parts…..£89. Why did he not work that out on his first visit?! I refused to pay anymore. Another engineer turned up 6 days later in the evening unannounced, looked at the dishwasher and said it was beyond repair and needed to be condemned. I have been ripped off for £200 for something that should have been seen by the incompetent first engineer. Perhaps he thought he was working on a gas cooker!! Avoid at all costs!!!”

“I will be detailing my awful dealings with this company in later update but this is directed at Trustpilot and the suggestion that they update overall ratings based on more recent reviews. To give an overall review score rating of 3.9 based on 1388 is extremely misleading due to time span covering reviews. 5 star- 6 over last 4 years 4 stars- last review 4 years ago 3 stars-1 review was 3 years 2 stars- 2 in last year 1 star- 86 in the last year, latest 5 days ago. You owe it to do better or at least give a mention to performance in a 2 or 3 year period. Google rightly ate more up to date and give them 1 star”

“I asked for an engineer to come out and fix my pure glow fire. He promised me he had the right man for the job. Cancelled my date twice. When engineer turned up he was a gas engineer. Didnt know anything about electrics. Asked for refund of my £139. They said no you have paid for call out and labour. He pulled plug out and put it back in. It is disgraceful. They sent me a complaints email which didnt exist. I am now going to write a letter to their head office and also my bank are trying to get my money back.”

“Avoid! I regret ever contacting this company. I was persuaded to buy a go assist membership to save money on a washing machine job. The operator failed to explain this was a 12 month membership contract with a £50 cancellation fee. In fact he suggested the opposite as I originally intended just to pay the full price for the job. The job itself was only half done and the communication with the engineer was extremely poor 100% avoid this company, awful service and disingenuous”

“A complete shower of sh…! Engineer arrived to fix broken washing machine , which we told exactly what problem was. No spares with him even though it’s a common fault. Couldn’t find part no…to which my husband did. Finally when they found the part, they thought 3 weeks for delivery, not including an appointment for fitting was acceptable. Would give NO STARS . Circus🤡”
