Very pleased with the cover offered, but disappointed that new customers are offered a discount which isn't offered to existing customers who are renewing their breakdown cover.

When I was looking for breakdown cover, after looking at various offers in my price range, GEM was easily the best choice. For what you pay you get personal cover for any car you drive, which is great. Plus they have very good customer service and fast response. I think I called GEM three times last year and they always came and without fuss either fixed my car on the spot or took me to my house. Which I always appreciated, it is stressful enough to have your car unable to start so I was always happy GEM made it easy to get back on the road.

I've had to make 2 call out's this year but both times the service has been amazing, from the time you make the call until your back on the road it went very smoothly both times hence why I have renewed my recovery again with GEM and will always recommend them. Thank you!

Luckily I've not had to test the breakdown service, but every time I've felt the need to phone GEM about anything I've always got straight through and my questions have been answered quickly and in a friendly manner. The cost is very reasonable for what they offer and they are a pleasure to deal with.

Trouble was a flat battery car was in garage at home . we pushed car onto driveway and I phoned GEM motoring assist. I was told I would be assisted 'within the hour' and so it was when a local firm arrived (ELVA) and got the car started but advised me that the battery had had it! I said that I would go to either the local Peugeot dealer or to Halfords for the replacement and the operative said that his firm supplied batteries ,tyres etc and also did repairs MOT's etc; which I was unaware of . So he rang his company and got me a price and I went there and they fitted it free!

I have not needed to use the breakdown cover yet (hopefully I won't need to) - but the service I have received so far has been excellent and I actually feel valued as a customer. I am glad I chose Gem Motoring Assist instead of the more well known companies :)

In December of 2014 a very bad cold spell caught me out, whilst delivering Xmas cards to friends, my car stalled outside my friends house who were at work, and could not get it started. Contacting GEM I was told the someone would be with me within the hour, this later was increased by 25 minutes. The weather had turned too cold for me to stay with the car, so I contacted GEM to say that I had to move or else I would be in trouble, I told the chap on phone and from the goodness of this mans heart he agreed and told me that the recovery vehicle would pick me up from home. I had to start to go home (1 mile or so ) I was dithering with cold. This happened, I was picked up from my home, my car was restarted and I was mobile again, without the help of the GEM man I would have been in real trouble, Thank you friend.
