I recently was told by my bank that my RAC cover would no longer be valid with my premium account. I compared motor breakdown firms and Gem came to the fore. Excellent value.

2 years ago had to call for assistance for my son cars (family plan). After 5 phone call and 6 hours later a recovery truck was sent out. May you just had a bad day so have given another chance. I would better if there was good communication? Had to go through the Ombudsman. Gem should have nipped in the bud before washing their hands of the complaint.

Disappointed that you were unable to re-establish my old account after a failed payment - I had been with you for many years!! However, I have just opened a new account which was fairly straightforward.

I found GEM from reviews online, especially the Auto Express review and found their website easy to use and their prices and amount of cover very good. I spoke to an advisor on the phone as I had a query and the phone was answered very quickly and the lady was very helpful. Having only just taken out the cover I can't comment on their service if you had a breakdown but if it's a good as my experiences with GEM so far I will be very happy

Had to call on GEM Motoring Assist twice this year on two different cars. The breakdown technicians that arrived were both very knowledgeable, polite and efficient. I would thoroughly recommend GEM as one of the best Breakdown Companies and offer great value and customer service.

Annoying that they give a discount for new members but loyal customers are penalised by paying over £16 more for their loyalty when renewing the annual policy.

Once again I have had to join as a new member to receive the 2 months discount, when will gem wake up and give the discount to loyal customers, I have been a member for years but every year have to rejoin, very annoying to say the least

Broke down and within 15 or 20 mins I was recovered by a lovely man, who was very friendly and helpful, making a horrible experience pleasant. Took us straight back home Would recommend

Car broke down at home and needed to be transported to the garage. Rang in the evening and requested a flatbed transporter for the following morning. The transporter arrived within the promised two-hour window and took me and the car to the garage.

I recently broke down 400 miles from home whilst towing a trailer. The response team were very efficient and I had my first relay driver with me within 1 hour. The second driver took me the remaining distance to my home, some 325 miles. The driver couldn't do enough to help and the customer service team were in constant contact throughout my 10-hour journey checking that everything was OK. Highly recommended.

My daughter's car would not start at home. The recovery vehicle arrived in less than an hour. The very helpful mechanic did a good fault-finding process which concluded with the decision he could not find the issue without proper facilities. He then recovered the vehicle to a local garage. All completed quickly and efficiently.

Great service had a flat tyre at home and discovered had no jack in my recently bought car, Gem had someone here in 20 minutes

I've been with GEM for many years but only had to use them twice - and both times I had a response within minutes rather than hours - I will continue to renew with them as they provide an excellent service at an excellent price

The breakdown man could not fix my car. He told me it was the compacitor beside the dashboard. I took his word for it and asked my brother to do it as the repair man said he could not do it. Yesterday my brother did take the dashboard off but it didn’t have a campactitor. He drove to a hybrid garage and was told. It was NOT the campcitor and he should not have touched it. He was told the main battery under the back seat would need changing. The garage was a 30 minute drive from the car. He lives 45 minutes from the car. He has now had to come back and put everything back behind the dashboard then, take the old battery out and take it back to get the new one. He then needs to come back and fit the new battery. I’m very disappointed with your company for not sending someone who new how to detect what was wrong with the car.
