“Extra charges for everything, I recently joined and was disappointed that when I swapped my reg number I was made to call twice, spend 1.5 hours on hold, be told by the first person this had to be done online, then learn it couldn't be, the second agent then sorted it for me and charged £50 for the privilege.......not great”

“Disappointed - Really great insurance offer online but then had three attempts to purchase my new insurance which failed (reason unknown as had sufficient funds in account) website gave no explanation just a number to call. Called number and the advisor I got was extremely abrupt and just rude due to this I purchased car insurance through another provider. Very disappointed with the customer service received.”

“What a terrible customer journey.
On the phone for almost an hour.
Passed from different departments for me to have to start my quote over again as they obviously don't tell the next person what has already been discussed and agreed.
I simply wanted to amend my policy.
If there weren't such high cancellation costs and charges (I asked what they would be and the list was endless, although they couldn't give me an exact figure!) I would have definitely cancelled my policy and gone elsewhere, but unfortunately I am stuck with Go Skippy due to the financial aspect.
I will certainly not be renewing next year.

“Online portal does not work for renewing your policy. Phoning to renew was painful. Being kept on hold for 30minutes and the being hung up on when you get through. This happened on 3 occasions. Call operators are hard to understand, not sure if the call centre is in this country. They charge an excessive £50 if you need to make a change to your policy.”
“So far not too great, and I've only been with them two weeks. Very unclear in regards to how to present documentation.
Not only do they require an absolutely obscene amount of information and documentation, they are very unclear as to how it should be presented. One text told me to present it all on the online portal, but there's no section for some of these to be entered. The other text (which followed multiple threats to cancel my policy as I had "not sent the documents needed" and notifications I would be charged £75 for the pleasure) - told me to email it to them, which turns out is the correct way, but it took them two weeks to tell me.
Not to mention it seems setting up a direct debit may be an issue given the fact they use a seperate finance company (like most, yes, but they seemingly have no contact with GoSkippy and require you to set everything up, even though GoSkippy are the broker).
Overall very complicated just to START my policy. I hope it's not the case when making a claim if I ever reach such a point.”
“I did an online quote, which came out at a fantastic price, I purchased the car I wanted and called up to finalise the insurance, and the cost went up over £30 a month. Being in a situation where I needed something immediately, I went ahead, but I feel let down that the pricing can be so inconsistent and change that much just from wanting something to start on the day.”
“I wait for a recovery truk more then 4 hours and at the end of the second conversation with your incompetent operator she told me : You don't have a recovery policy with us, even if i pay extra on my premium for that. Next year i'll change my insurance company. Thank you!”
“I bought an insurance policy online, but couldn't get any proof that I was actually covered. Received an email saying that they had taken my money, but no certificate. After 3 follow up calls, I eventually got someone to send me the documents, but had to have a day off from work because I was unsure if I was even insured! Total waste of time changing. Won't use this company again!”

“I called up to change my vehicle and I was told 4 different stories 1 saying I didn't have to pay anything up front and that they would put it on monthly what the difference was then I was contacted and said I had to pay an up front payment and same again. It was so frustrating and I was not happy been told so many stories as I was stressing all week. Finally got it sorted and made them send me a letter to confirm what they said just incase they contact me again wanting money. All I can say is when this is up I am changing insurances. Shouldn't have had to be so stressful changing cars”
