I tried to pay for a car insurance policy as a referral from GoCompare.com; when authenticating with my bank the GoSkippy payment page timed out. I then tried to go through the process again, but my initial quote identifier was no longer usable (message about "Session timed out") Trying to get this resolved through GoSkippy was a pain - initially blaming my bank for "Credit check failures" (?). I was told this needed to be resolved via a phone call - they then called me, and said taking out a policy via phone would include a surchage of £20 beyond an online price!

Very difficult to reach out to customer care and they drop the call without giving all information.Won't go with this next time.

I was not made aware that there would be a hard credit search before I applied through Comparethemarket. It lowered my credit score and forced me to sign a credit agreement with a company I had never heard of (Not GoSkippy). They seem like a decent company but I'm not happy with this lack of information. Take this information any way you like.

Took 2 hours to even speak to a customer service agent... made my payment then when I checked the details of my account I noticed they had misspelt one letter in my road name called up to try and change that and my quote went up £350.

Been with Go skippy for years. Tried for 3 weeks to get through on the phone. Been unable. Changes I need to make can’t be done on the portal. Promised call backs on the 2 occasions I’ve got through. No callback. Filled in the online complaint form. No response. Emailed - no response.

Chap on phone was ok polite enough etc, but asked me to listen to recorded message at end. I was on phone for 30 mins only to hear on message that if nothing had changed my renewal would be automatic. Why didn't the man tell me this in the beginning instead of keeping me on a 30min phone call going through every little detail when I didn't need to???

Customer services were unhelpful when i rang. I then did want to renew and had an auto renew only for that to be turned off by GoSkippy 2 days before my insurance was due. Then they would not email me a link to renew and i had to call. The price was reasonable and the best i found however customer services needs major work.

Easy to set up ect however told I am not able to have optional extras although the only reason I picked this insurance was because of recommendations for the optional extras

Unfortunatly i want to change something and i can t.i want to put just breckdown but after i select also legal protection or something i couldn t go back to have what i want.an pay 19 pound more.

Argh I hate having to buy insurance on price! The cost of all of life's increases and the extortionate insurance increases in general has meant I have done just that. 2 policies bought with no help from customer services who really couldn't be less bothered with any of my questions, very matter of fact and a little on the abrupt side. I decided to call a second time hoping that I may have caught someone on an 'off' day, nope same again. Go Skippy I know you value feedback as seen on your other review rebuttals but honestly it doesn't seem much has changed. here's hoping I don't actually need to claim!!!!

Booked the wrong date for my policy to start by 10 days and paid for it then tried to amend it by 10 days to start as the present one ends to be told I had to pay another £100 which I did not Not very helpful customer service

Been with them for 2 years with no problems. Nice and cheap too. However that has now changed. Was buying a new car and looked at insurance prices before purchasing. Go skippy came back cheapest. Great would save me having to shop around at renewal. Get car, change over policy, £35 admin charge for me to do all the work online was a bit excessive but otherwise was painless. Now 2 weeks after getting car and price has doubled!!. No reason why. Smaller engine, not moved, etc and yet they double the cost. Definitely going elsewhere now. Especially as been quoted £300 less than go skippy.

Tried to get insurance through go skippy directly but the customer service was shocking. Advisors speak to you like they can’t be bothered dealing with you. Had no choice but to go with go skippy because the were the cheapest insurers for what I wanted but it was easier to go through quotezone even if it was more expensive. I will give two stars though because they’re cheap

Had a terrible first experience. When you sign up for Insurance, you have to provide various details (standard practice in every auto insurance) which included selecting your address from a list of addresses on your postcode. After the policy was purchased, door number disappeared from rest of the address on the policy document. When I called customer service to inform this, they tried to charge me £50 to add the door number claiming It will count as amending details. Since I selected the address from the list of addresses on their website, I am at loss to know… how door number did not appear on policy certificate. After to & fro, they eventually added my address for free claiming it to be a favour and still refused to explain how door number disappeared in the first place. My first impression was … they were trying to scam me of £50. I seriously considered cancelling the policy but there was £75 charge for cancellation. All the issues start after policy is purchased and first payment is done. This puts customers in extremely tough spot. Also, customer service agent was unable to explain what breakdown add on covers. Customer service is dreadful. When I asked to raise a complaint, they refused to transfer call to manager and asked me to read terms. I was given wrong email address to raise complaint. I had to look up for details online to raise the complaint. The employee who contacted me after I raised the complaint was much better. However even she claimed there was nothing wrong on their end and she did not know how the door number did not appear on policy certificate. The damage is done & trust in broken. I am just hoping they will not cause issues at later date since policy is 1 year long and there is long list of admin charges they can force upon customer.
