“I had an amazing experience on the Gap 360 Sri Lanka trip and could not recommend it enough. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, with a great mix of culture, adventure, wildlife and downtime. From exploring ancient temples and going on safari to scenic landscapes and beach time, every part of the trip felt well thought out and exciting.
Transport was mainly by coach, which we used for most journeys and was comfortable and well organised. One of the highlights was the scenic train journey to Ella, which was absolutely beautiful and a real bucket list experience, passing through lush green hills and tea plantations.
Our group leader, Maisie, was absolutely fantastic and truly made the trip what it was. She was organised, approachable and endlessly supportive, always making sure everyone felt included and comfortable. She struck the perfect balance between fun and professionalism and brought such positive energy to the group.
The trip can feel a little busy at times, but if you are someone who wants a full 12 days of authentic Sri Lanka, this is definitely the trip for you. One thing I was initially apprehensive about was the group dynamic, but it ended up being one of the best parts of the experience. Our group was really chilled, with a mix of different personalities and a few couples.
The age range on my trip was roughly 23–40, which I personally loved. Even though I was one of the youngest, I really enjoyed spending time with people who were slightly more mature.
A special highlight of the trip is the exclusive morning on the last day to meet and speak with young locals, or “monks”, which offers a unique insight into their lives and perspectives. There was also a nice blend of fun throughout the trip: we had a night out in Ella at a bar and club, and on the last night we went to a beach club, which was a perfect way to unwind and celebrate the trip.
The final few days were spent at a wellness resort, which was the perfect way to relax after a busy itinerary. If you enjoy Pilates and yoga, this place is definitely for you. I also squeezed in an extra surf lesson at Hiriketiya Beach, which was an amazing experience and well worth doing if surfing is your thing.
Accommodation and transport throughout were better than expected, and it was clear that Gap 360 has strong local connections and a real respect for the country. At the start of the trip, you go straight to Negombo from Colombo airport, which makes for an easy arrival. One tip I would give is to plan a few extra days after the trip if you can, either in Weligama for more beach time or Colombo for a city experience. Having a bit of downtime afterwards really helps you feel fully relaxed and recharged before heading home.
Sri Lanka itself is an incredible destination, and this trip was the perfect way to experience it. I made lifelong friends, felt safe and supported throughout, and came home with unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone considering Gap 360.
I would give it a 4 out of 5, I feel the tour was very lovely the only downside is make sure you check properly when you are booking as we didn’t see the Sigiriya Rock due to the rain, at times it felt quite full on only having one night somewhere. I would have liked spending an extra chill day in the south although I feel the itinerary was great and really well planned sometimes it felt quite tiring, our leader Maisie deserves a solid 5/5 she was very organised, she always made sure the group felt, were well catered for and were included and safe.”

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Southeast Asia Adventure/Journey - we have done so much in such a short space of time, I feel real privileged to have been on it. It is full on, there’s not a lot of down time to relax because you don’t want to miss out on any activities and sight-seeing. It hasn’t always been perfect, I do feel like Gap360 have been quite deceiving with what is included in the trip - we found that more often than not the daily activities were all ‘optional’ meaning we had to pay on the spot even more than the cost of the trip (so not included, which would be disappointing, some up to £50). The tour guides were all mostly very good, the ones who specifically stood out to me were Mai & May (Thailand), Viet (Vietnam) and Neng (Laos), they were really excellent guides that you could tell really cared about their countries. But all in all, I would say this trip has given me some of the best memories and some nice friends too!!”

“Messaged gap 360 and was told they don’t respond on weekends which i don’t understand as people travel every day of the week so I needed a response for some information in order to fill out a Thailand digital arrival card which also they didn’t inform me I needed to have completed before I land in Thailand however no response and their helpline wasn’t open however intro for my Vietnam and Cambodia tour was amazing 10/10 staff a 24/7 helpline and both my leaders Leo and Sel were amazing and made my experience so much better and memorable”

“The South East Asia Journey trip was truly life changing! I genuinely met friends who I will keep in contact with and enjoyed getting stuck in at every single moment. Most of the tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Most of the activities were well organised and super fun. Gap360 really helped to take away the stress of travelling and I would totally recommend it to any other young person wanting to go on an extended trip abroad. The only improvements I would make is that I felt some of the hostels were not up to the standard I would have hoped and I found some of the included meals challenging as a person with a food intolerance.”

My points of feedback would be that it all felt very rushed - like for eg we went straight from ha long bay to ha gan loop and it all felt ti rushed
It could if felt better if the trio was longer but then also more days ti rest

“I’ve had a great time on this tour! The tour has been packed with activities everyday, which eventually does exhaust you out at many times, but worth it looking back at everything that we had done. The only comment I would make on the activities is that I wish there were more activities included rather than us using our spending money on them. All our tour guides were happy, smiley and extremely friendly and helpful people.
Keng (although we only had him for 3 days) brought our group close together after only just meeting, his bubbly personality and positivity helped us all settle instantly and enjoy the tour 100x more.
Lee (Ly) was exceptional. We all admired his strong passion for his country, which made our tour in Cambodia feel a lot more personal. His contagious laugh and caring personality made him an absolute joy to be around.
Bao was alot of fun, and very helpful navigating us through Vietnam. He was very informative and factual, and couldn’t help put a smile on your face with any conversation we had.
Sunshine had a very infectious smile that befriended you instantly, and he did a very good job looking after us all when we all grew quite tired from all the fun over the previous few weeks. His love for his job however really gave us the energy to enjoy the tour as much as he, and absorb the culture of his country.
Mai was an angel. She was incredibly welcoming and energetic, which always put excitement into our new day. I had gotten ill which put me in the hospital for a few days, and Mai was extremely helpful, caring and resourceful, helping me get through this time and for helping me sort out my insurance communications. I couldn’t recommend her enough!
Povan is one of the friendliest and nicest people we have had the joy to meet. He has been incredibly informative with the culture and history of Malaysia, and he is a very happy and funny person to have countless of conversations with. He has been incredibly kind treating us to little gifts here and there, or setting up fun challenges for us to engage in during our activities. He has made our trip in this country 100% more enjoyable and 100% more sad that we have to leave it eventually!
Overall our trip wouldn’t have been as fantastic if we didn’t have the amazing tour guides that we were given! They really helped get us through this eventful and action packed trip!”

“I really enjoyed the experience that i had doing the south east asia 47day adventure. I am however disappointed at some of the places we had been taken to. Some places were so run down it wasn’t even worth taking us there and it always seemed like the included activities were the bad ones.
In malaysia we got taken to a “butterfly farm” which was seemed to be “ethical” this is not the case and there is no way anyone could be tricked into this. All the butterflies were dead and had been glued onto the ceiling and walls while they were dead. a lonely kangaroo was sad in a corner of a tiny cage looking so depressed and skinny. A sheep had its insides hanging out after just given birth to a lamb that was clearly struggling. The list goes on about how vile this place is. It’s disgusting and i’m so disappointed that gap360 are giving our money to this company. it is in the cameron highlands and will be writing more about this to gap30.
Apart from those downfalls i had an amazing time with all the people on the group especially the leaders kengkong,Lee,Viet,Prae,Tiva and wadi who made the experience so amazing.”

“The experience overall was very enjoyable, I have loved seeing different countries and cultures within SE Asia. I’ve made friends for life! My favourite guides were Lee, Viet and Mai.
If I could leave some feedback for next time I would say when on sleeper buses without toilets to ensure there are more toilet breaks. Some days also felt rushed due to travel or that random activities were incorporated to make up time. I don’t personally feel the last week in Malaysia was worth the extra £900 based on activities and hostels. I still have Singapore to go my opinion may change. Overall an enjoyable experience.”

“I’ve just come back from the 10 day Japan trip. It was genuinely incredible, such an unforgettable trip and I’m honestly so sad that it’s over! I’ve met people who will be friends for life now and done so many amazing things - literally best holiday ever!
We all absolutely loved the places that we visited, particularly Kyoto and Osaka. The sushi making class was one of the highlights, as well as the Kendo class. I also loved Monkey Mountain, sleeping in a temple, the temples and the kimono hire and tea ceremony! However, there were a few parts that could be improved. For example, we all found the sake tasting quite underwhelming. We were squashed into a room we weren’t supposed to even be in and it was just our tour leader explaining the sake to us, if you could even call it that. We thought it would be a proper class, which when we googled we could see that this was something you could actually do, so would’ve preferred that. When I was in Tokyo after the tour ended, some of my friends from the tour met up to hang out and we went to Tokyo Skytree. It was so amazing and I think it was a missed opportunity for the tour - that could have been planned as an actual activity in the itinerary rather than just suggested. We also found the plan for Shibuya to be quite underwhelming. ‘Piss alley’ was packed so it felt pointless to go there and the sights that were scheduled were not really worth spending that much time on, like the cat hologram, for example.
Another part of why I haven’t rated the trip a 5/5 would be to do with the group leader. Although he was nice and knew a fair amount about the places we were visiting, he got very stressed out over situations that really didn’t need to be stressful. He made the tour feel like a school trip, especially as on some of the nights he waited outside the bars for us right till midnight and would appear throughout the evening to check in on us, even though we explicitly told him that we were fine and he could return to the hostel. It was a bit uncomfortable and kind of put a dampener on the evenings - we’re all adults and it would’ve been nice to have a break from feeling watched/supervised at all times. He didn’t really click well with the group and I think we all felt this massively throughout. Since it’s a tour aimed at slightly younger people, my suggestion would be to have someone within that age range be our leader, or at least someone with better people skills.
Finally, just a note that if you’re vegetarian/pescatarian, the tour will be difficult. Most nights the people who didn’t eat meat in the group, including myself, had to eat from the convenience store, which would’ve been fine if not for the fact that we’d eaten there for breakfast and lunch too. It was literally impossible to find anywhere in the small towns. The vegetarian restaurants that the tour suggested were all closed.
Overall, I had an amazing time, literally the trip of a lifetime, but there were a few issues that could be ironed out to have taken it just to that next level!”
