“Gap360 helped me decide between two packages that I’ve been considering for well over a year, their options included more help after I finish the welcome week, so it was mainly that aspect that helped me decide who to book with and put me at ease that the company I chose cared about me”
“I've travelled with Gap before and they've always offered excellent customer service whenever I've had any questions, queries or doubts.
The 25 day Thai adventure with Gap was a great way to see parts of Thailand I never would have seen by myself. There was great activities and plenty of free time (which everyone else used to party). Our tour leader, Kung, was so nice and very helpful. Fun trip, ended on a high snorkeling with sharks and turtles!”
“Chai was the best tour guide ever!
Couldn’t have asked for a better person to lead us around Thailand
Some of the places we stayed were not the same as I got told by gap360 before the trip started. The new hostels were not up to the same standard as the hotels we were supposed to be in”
“I was very happy with our thoughtful and accommodating guides Nyla and Poy. I have extra needs as an autistic person and when I said I needed to leave a loud place Poy walked me back to the hotel. I would have liked more cultural information about the ways in which people lived in Thailand but due to the immature people on the tour I think it would have been lost on them and kind of pointless. I was very disappointed with the English people on the tour. I am older (26) but I was so shocked with the language of the 'men' on the tour, from the r words (in front of me an autistic person which I was very open about) to consent jokes whilst in a 3000 year old cave with drawings, to games of would you rather gang r**p x or y. I was shocked with the amount of Homophobic comments from the people on the tour. 'That's gay' ... I haven't hear this kind of language since I was at school 10 years ago. I am an openly bisexual women and there were bisexual men and other women on the tour who felt increasing uncomfortable about the language used. It really tarnish the trip and was very hard to hear day in and day out. I had to go off by myself a lot to get away from it. Or call this use of language out which was meant with conflict. I did not expect in this age group to be so immature which sadly did make the trip very unpleasant at times. This is no fault of the guide or gap360 and I feel like I just got very unlikely with certain people who dominated the group dynamics on this trip.
I had an amazing time with other lovely kind people on this trip and because the group of 23 was big, by the end we branched off and had our own outings and fun.
Thailand is absolutely beautiful and I just wish the gym boys had slowed down a bit on the jungle hike so we could take it all in and see the animals (which were no where to be seen due to the loud inappropriate conversation by these boys).
I had an incredible infighting experience in the temple praying to Buda (which again was interrupted by the immature boys laughing the whole time in the sacred place).
I liked Bangkok but would again have liked to have seen more of the culture the museums ect (maybe this is my age again rather then the strip).
Chiang Mai was beautiful, personally 1 day less would have been better. The Elephant 'sanctuary' was not a sanctuary as we would describe it. There were men with sticks who owned the Elephants and even though these Elephants were not put to work in the logging industry they were there for tourists and recently the men who owned these beautiful Elephants had bred a calf. The baby Elephant was amazing to see from a selfish point of view as a tourist. But it did make me sad as this little guy was there again for the tourist to oow and aww over. It does make me wonder why they brought a bull in to bred when there is no where for these Elephants anymore.
It did feel a bit like they where there to perform, taking the banana from there mouths and going to the river.
I do believe these Elephants are cared for but they did feel more like pets.
The flight was with a very budget airline to the south of Thailand. The men had no leg room at all. And it did not feel very safe for the nervous flyers.
The islands were incredible and I enjoyed every single one of them.
I did think ao nang was pointless, were was nothing there, people got stung by jellyfish, the hostel felt like a prison mental cage. And I did not feel safe in the area as it was dominated by Indian men who were tourists or shop owners who would sexually harass you as waking down the street every 10 feet.
I would like to say that the Thai people were very friendly, really like tourists and the men were very respectful of us women and I never had an issue with them.
I would remove ao nang of the trip.
There was a lot of travelling between places and I feel often this was unnecessary when there were airports in the towns we visited more often then not. I am not sure if this was due to price, but flying between Krabi airport and koh Samui for example would have been better. Rather then hanging around bus stations and hours on 'ferries' boats, buses and taxis.
The islands were amazing on the east side of Thailand and I just wish we had more time there! So good 😁
I wish there was a flight from the east side of Thailand to Bangkok so you could fly straight home on the last day. The coach being a day coach as well just was very long and felt again a bit of unnecessary time wasting.
Overall I would have no gone with this group of people had I known what their every day language and how immature these boys where. But I am pleased i did experience some of Thailand and did some amazing people. Again our guide was so accommodating and always on hand 24 hours a day for 25days straight, if anything she (Nyla) deserves a medal.”
Thank you so much for your really detailed and informative review, we appreciate you bringing these points to our attention. We will make sure the local team and the guides take additional steps in the future to speak to the group about appropriate behavior whilst on tour, and to be sensitive to other cultures and of other travellers.
We're glad that overall you had a really great time on this trip and that you loved Thailand 😊
“Initially, it took a few days for my query to be answered, I asked a question through WhatsApp and the website but when I received an answer I had all the information I needed to book. The booking process was very easy.”
“The Thai adventure trip was amazing; very well organized, a good balance between free time and planned activities, and I felt like I properly saw Thailand. Our tour guides (Kung and Jesse) were brilliant and made me feel very safe throughout (as a solo female traveller this was really important for me). I met such lovely people and I really want to travel more asap! I think the trip was a bit overpriced given how cheap Thailand is. For me it was still worth it for stress free travel.”
“Booking with Gap360 has been super easy. The staff I’ve interacted with have been exceptionally helpful in answering any questions I may have. They have even contacted the local team to find out more about the itinerary for me. Response times have always been fast.
Only reason this is a four star not five is I think there should be more transparency about the fact you need a doctor to fill out a medical form if you have a health condition. I’ve never had to get my doctor to fill in a form to say I can go on holiday before, it came as a shock to me. I am unable to prepare anything till I’ve been for deemed to go which is a stress I wasn’t prepared for. I’m not against the medical form as I understand it’s to keep them and me safe but wish that there were alternatives.”
Thanks for your review Amelia, we're so glad we can help with any questions you have. Thank you for providing feedback, we're always looking to improve our customer experience so I will make sure this reaches the relevant team for consideration.
We hope you have a lovely trip with us 😊
“Everything went great. only thing is u guys should make sure that the information, pics and details are up to date because the pictures that were of African Dawn were def not the experience. The game room was filthy and not even used. There was nothing to really do but drink and sit around.”
Thank you for your review Sarita, we're glad you had a great time! We have passed on your valuable feedback to our product team to help improve the experience for future travellers.
“The itinerary itself was amazing, and thoroughly enjoyable. However, our tour guide Tan, was fairly useless. She got us from A to B but didn’t inform us of any info such as bus/ferry times, or if we asked her a question she would say ‘look at the whatsapp group that we set up’. On one occasion she was quite rude to me, I asked one of the tour guides at Khao Sok National Park what was for dinner and she replies quite sassy at me saying ‘he’s the tour guide not the cook’ - to me that comment was unnecessary and rude. Most of the time she acted as if she didn’t want to be there, and everyone in the group felt that she was lacking on the tour guide front. This did make the trip less enjoyable, but thankfully the other people who were on the tour were lovely and I made some life long friends. But the places we went too were great, however I would recommend changing the location of the Koh Phangan hostel, as there isn’t much to do close by and as most people are on budgets they do not want to take a taxi/tuk tuk, and would rather things be in walking distance.”
“Very clear, professional and accesicble.
Doing Oz jobs in Melbourne, could of done with more testimonials from ex travellers on what people did for job and living arrangements after the orientation as extra security that all will be well.”
“Haven’t been on my trip yet so can’t give 5 stars yet! But if you are thinking about travelling for the first time I recommend booking with gap 360! They answer every question (all 5 million of mine anyway!) and help to reassure you with everything - very helpful if you’re like me and stress about all the things you’re not 100% sure on!”
“Everything was well organised in terms of flights transfers ferries between the islands. The only criticism was that our rep Ru wasn't very acknowledgeable I think this could have been due to language barrier otherwise very nice man. When we asked a out local eateries or things to do outwith the tour he couldn't really answer so we had to guess where to go by using the Internet.”
“Just booked the Rio to Lima trip and I've had all the help I needed along the way to deciding if the trip was right for me. All my questions were answered with loads of detail and they were very fast at responding. Can't wait for my trip with them now 😁”
“My booking experience with Gap 360 was GOOD! It was very easy and quick but the time between the booking and being accepted gave me hear palpitations haha!”
“It was easy to use and very informative. It was useful to be able to speak to someone regarding the trip whilst online. It would have been nice to have booked for more than one person at a time.”
“The trip was amazing, such a great experience and so many opportunities available and included. I made friends for life on the trip also. It would be 5 stars, if advertisement was 100% accurate, regarding WiFi on the coach, and the mentioning of activities being weather dependent in some countries.
I had the best time regardless though. Definitely recommend!”
“Have used gap360 a few times now and have found them a very reliable company.
They have always found cheap flights for me, answered questions promptly, not been pushy like other travel companies and made the overall organisation easy.
I’ve broken down the Thailand trip pros and cons below:
Pros:
Elephant sanctuary
Flight prices
Accommodation
Boat trip
Activities included
Food
Cons:
Unclear that you had to make your own way back
Certain activities included such as the night markets were included and there was no way to decline, however we then had to pay to get back to our hostel, which was fairly cheap and fine for myself but other people hadn’t wanted to go at all so were annoyed they had to go there and pay to get back. This happened on a few occasions, transport was included but transport back wasn’t yet you weren’t told this until you were at the place so we then had to ask each time
Too much time in Bangkok - expensive and not much to do
Too much free time with little advice on what to do other than “chill by pool”, would be good to have more options/suggestions available as opposed to trying to research it all when occasionally had bad WiFi
Overall, I would recommend doing this trip and it’s a great way to make friends/have the ease of travelling. The cons I have listed are fairly easy to iron out and didn’t hinder the trip, but would be areas for improvement.”
