“Initial enquiry to Fuel Fixer was dealt with compassion at what was a stressful time, your operative attended in 30 minutes, a charming and professional man who soon had the problem resolved. I do highly recommend this company, if you make the same mistake and put in the wrong fuel for the vehicle.”

“Pricing wasn't very clear. Thought it was going to be £330, but with fuel, the optional cleaner fluid (£30) and VAT it was closer to £450. Annoyed is an understatement. Was also told the whole system would be checked in that price, but they did nothing of the sort.”

Due to your comment, the call was listened to and VAT was definitely stated as part of the pricing, and the additive is an optional extra that the engineer might recommend ie it is not part of the booking call. “I phoned and received a prompt answer. Explained my situation and unfortunately as I had driven 100 feet to make the phone call ( aware not meant to use mobiles in petrol stations) I was told the job would take longer as a more detailed clean would be required due to the wrong fuel being pulled through- so they would now have to do from the front of vehicle. They explained that it is a cheaper and easier job when they just have to drain the tank and would cost £150 including VAT but as it was too late I would now have to pay £378 due to increased work and this taking up to an hour to complete. The van took 20 minutes to get to me which was fantastic but then he told me that as I’d driven only 100 foot and being a hybrid car it would have used the electric- so just drained the tank taking 20 minutes. No extra work required and yet still £378 charge. Yes it was my fault but having been so descriptive over the charging and then being charged the higher amount leaves a very sour taste. Would certainly not recommend this company as felt I’d been ripped off!”

“Peter from Fuel Fixer arrived in about 40 minutes from the time I made the phone call from a supermarket car park in Yeovil. We were on holiday in Somerset, long way from home here in Chesterfield. He drained my fuel tank, which took quite a while, and was obviously very knowledgeable and professional in what he was doing. Once the contaminated diesel/petrol mixture was removed, he flushed out the system and miraculously the engine started up and quickly settled down to a smooth rhythm. He reassured me that everything would be OK and, after I settled the fee and received receipts and a 28 day guarantee, I was able to drive away. Everything has been running fine since that day in Yeovil. In fact the engine seems to run the best it's been for many years!”
