“There are lots of lovely goods to choose from and ones to be engraved. I purchased a pen for a special birthday and it looked exactly as on the brochure page, maybe the engraving was a little small. It was excellent though. I have bought from here before and will definitely do so again”

“Saw a couple of different pairs of Barbour gloves on the website but wanted to go and see what they were actually like and try them on. Went to their showroom but they didn’t have them on display. Not a problem for them - they just called over to the workshop and got both pairs brought to the showroom. Loved them both and took ages to decide - which again was no problem and I didn’t feel rushed or pressurised at all. Can’t recommend Farrar & Tanner enough.”

“Prompt reply to a query, quality products which were delivered quickly. Very efficient service. My purchase included a trowel and hand fork set as a wedding present which was nicely engraved with the name of the bride and groom. My only regret was that there were 2 boxes to be completed when placing the request for engraving. I put the couple's names in one and the date of their wedding in the other, expecting them to be engraved on the items respectively. However, the names were engraved on both items. Therefore the second box appears redundant but that's not clear when ordering.”

“Unfortunately ive not had a good experience purchasing a chess set from Farrar & Tanner. Its more my fault than Farrar & Tanner as the item supplied were not the size or product i was looking for. This is simply a problem of buying online without the visual inspection when buying in shops.”

“The reason for only 3 stars was I was offered a free engraved message on the boxed malt whisky, plus my name as who the gift was from. The recipient had no idea and only found out by chance when he called me about another matter. Not good. I had filled in all the details on the order form. In fact the form itself from Outdoor 365 was not clear and in the end I had to phone them to make sure that the whisky was sent to the recipient's address not to me. Comparing the costs involved by purchasing through you proved over £20 more expensive than from competitor's prices for the same malt whisky even with carriage charged.”

To clarify, the engraving process requires selecting the personalisation option on the product page, which then takes you to a preview gallery where you can enter your message and confirm before proceeding. It seems this step may not have been completed, which is why the engraving wasn’t included. We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially as it was intended as a thoughtful gift.
