Sirloin joint was disappointing. While very tender, the flavour was a bit off/over mature. Instead of having a rich, deep flavour which you’d expect with a high quality dry aged sirloin, the joint we received was more tainted and just ‘old’ tasting. The joint was consumed the day after we received it and cooked medium. A shame as been ordered previously had been exceptional.

The Kiev has lost a bit of quality over the years.

Whilst the shoulder of pork was delicious, the heritage sirloin steak was disappointing. The two steaks were not evenly cut, so needed different cooking times. Cooked rare, the steak was not tender and didn't have the flavour I would expect of 32 day aged steak. The delivery was faultless and at the time I expected it.

We bought the Beef Wellington. Outstanding taste but the possibility of all round drey crust is extremely poor. Lacking th layer between the mushroom and pastry. Would be much better sold as ingredients

Good quality and delivery but not much flavour on the sausages.

Disappointed with the duck that I bought for Christmas. The ice packs it was delivered with had caused it to be frozen in places. It was a bit tough and I did not think that the flavour was much better than a supermarket duck that would have cost less that 1/3 as much. Hopefully it had lived a better life than the supermarket duck as this is the only possible justification for the expense.

We have always had really nice meat from Farmison having used them for several years, but the food that we ordered for Christmas Day this year (venison wellington) was very disappointing. The freezing and defrosting process seemed to have had a significant negative effect on the food, and despite following the cooking instructions exactly, the meat was very overdone and the pastry very underdone.

The order was a bit muddled but the beef fillet arrived on time. It was for my daughter’s 40th birthday 6 days ahead of delivery date. The website said minimum use by date was 6 days but when it was delivered it was only 5 days. I chanced it and no-one was ill. So lucky, but for the price I shouldn’t have to have fingers crossed that it’s OK. The meat was lovely, tasty and tender, so no complaints there.

Not over impressed. The chicken was excellent but the rest of my Christmas order, not so good. I also spent £25 on some so-called special steak which was very fatty and gristly. Unfortunately, I only bought this because of a special offer of 'Spend over £20 and get a free Yorkshire pudding tin'. I didn't get the tin. Apart from the chicken, I was very dissapointed with my Christmas order. Sorry, Farmison.

I wasn’t pleased with the way it looked when it arrived. It didn’t look like the picture. I would assume the Turkey would’ve taken on some of the flavours of the brine it was in but it hadn’t. The Turkey was moist which was good.

Good selection, albeit a bit pricey. However, the mini burgers we bought went mouldy after two days despite being in the fridge

The meat was good quality but the packaging is simply deplorable. The organisation could spend more time reducing its environmental footprint by seeking alternatives to unrecyclable plastic and polystyrene (a very dated material).

The turkey ham was delicious and was enjoyed by everyone. Unfortunately, the Heritage Burgers were squashed and 2 packets had the cellophane split open, so they didn't last as long as they should of. After ordering 12 we were only able to consume 4. Better care in the packaging needed, but the 4 we ate were extremely nice.

it was okay. It was expensive so it should be. If you pay £5 a kg for beef, you get horrible produce. If you pay £50 a kg you get decent stuff. Yeah, it's good, but you have to pay for it.

Whilst there is absolutely no doubt your meat is excellent in flavour and does re-educate the pallet - it was beyond frustrating that the recipe for the large belly cured pork - a Christmas special was removed from the site when you stopped selling it - I bought a massive meat selection which was not all eaten before Jan - a central recipe hub on the site would be much easier - i was very disappointed

Good quality meat but not good value for money

Whilst the joint was tasty, as I cut into it there was a lot of bits of string ranging from small bits with knots in to c2inch lengths which were impossible to see and ended up in the mouth. Not very nice at all. Based on this I would say buyer beware. I’ve been forced to tick below in order to complete this review. In fact I have not complained to Farmison so none of the below is true. For the cost of the three bird joint that I purchased I did no expect to find a considerable amount of chopped up string contained within.

I have had meat previously from you and it was great - but the beef wing rib I had for Christmas was not up to your usual standard.

Beautifully ethically packaged, prompt delivery. Unfortunately the meat lack real flavour despite “outstanding breeds”. Lack of flavour and taste, a real let down considering the price.

Delivered on time, and well packaged. Sausagemeat was good. Chicken was good. Sadly, the gammon joint was much smaller than it appeared in the photograph, and far leaner too. I had expected a good covering of fat from a slow-grown beast, but there was very little fat, which made scoring and glazing ineffective. The fat was so thin, that the cloves pierced the meat! The flavour was OK, but I only as good as I have had from Aldi. I was anticipating deep porky flavours, and it just tasted, well, hammy. I think my expectations were just too high. From my first (and last) experience, the product here does not justify the cost, and does not live up to the promise of the wonderful photographs.
