No problems with any part of the order. The hen house was easy to assemble.

There are brilliant things about the Betty on wheels hen house and pen and then some bad aspects. The side opening door easily falls off its hinges when you open it (my land is not flat) and there is a big gap (draughts) either side of it. It is a roomy house but the perches are on a slant and the nest boxes are above them in height so you know where the chickens are going to sleep! Definitely needs rectifying. If you fit another nest box in place of the opening door (nest boxes fit well) then you have no entrance into the house to catch chickens or whatever. If it only had a back opening door as well this aspect would be perfect but not of course if it fits badly! The pen has wooden roof support in the middle and one side arrived with the nail in it already broken. It should be packed more carefully and marked up as fragile. Then there is the aspect of the pop door which with the pen fitted cannot be accessed (we used string etc to solve the problem) . Apparently the automatic door system is fitted inside (was going to get it but don't see how I could operate it!). Not sure how this works but every time you want to change it you would have to reach inside and disconnect it or something and if you fitted the second nest box then no entry. The pen prevents you fitting one outside. Of course if you don't use the pen then no problem. Overall compared with other houses I have bought I am pleased with it and no doubt we can modify it over time. Just such a shame that such a roomy house has not been better thought out. The poorly fitting door makes you think they expect you to have another next box which would be great if you still had access to the house! In its favour it seems to be robust and unlikely to get blown over and the wheels and handles make it easier to move although I can't manage by myself as I had hoped. However our ground is sloping and uneven so on a level surface perhaps I could!

I'm pleased with my chicken house. As expected It's cheap and cheerful and should last a couple of years. I'm liking the side access panel for easy cleaning, much better access than my last one. Having had this type of house before we have added some extra screws when building and have put the feet on levelled slabs to try and keep it square as our last house warped a bit. The only bad point was the courier, I had to wait in all day for it and when it arrived the box was damaged and inside a few bits had broken, but nothing to prevent it being built.

Excellent service from Eggshell. Ordering was easy and after a phone call from a very helpful man, the chicken coop was delivered the next day. The coop is made well and I was impressed with the quality. After a couple of coats of paint, we put it together at the weekend and it looks lovely. There was only one snag. We had ordered an extra wire run. This was out of stock so was sent a roofed run instead. Attaching 2 roofs was a pain and we had to use a saw, bolts and a bit of imagination. All good in the end.

A very good chicken coop- the only improvement would be a more comprehensive instruction sheet in a larger format with more gdaphic precise drawings

Bought to replace our old coop/run. Not as tall as we had hoped but seems a sturdy construction. Our laydees are not living in it yet, I've just finished weather-proofing it. As our girls are free-range it is only needed for roosting and egg laying so should suit the purpose very well. One small criticism...it was missing the nuts required to build the nest box so a trip to the local hardware store was needed.

The chicken house looks amazing once up..... Instruction could have been a bit clearer.... Great that all the screws were in separate bags and labelled... If the same was done on the parts would have been great!! Overall well pleased....... :)

Very good quality wood, easy to put together, but found two pieces of wood were broken so had to use wood glue to stick together, one of the bolts was also bent inwards and had to be carefully prised open so as not to crack wood, but overall a hutch I would recommend.

Order arrived very quickly . All parts, screws etc were well labeled. Would have liked the instructions a little bigger and clearer. The chicken house is as described and reasonably well made though my 2 year granddaughter pulled the metal handle off the sliding door at the first use so will need to replace the small block it was screwed to. This is a small job for an experienced handyman but quite an effort for me as a grandma in her older years. I bought it as a present for my son in law and I am sure he will pleased.

MY HEN HOUSE WAS DELIVERED THE VERY NEXT DAY, WHICH WAS GREAT! HAD A PHONE CALL AND AN E MAIL CONFIRMING DELIVERY.THE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH THE HOUSE WERE VERY SMALL AND BLURRY AND IT WAS TRIAL AND ERROR TO WORK OUT WHERE SOME OF THE SMALLER PIECES WENT AND HOW TO PUT THEM TOGETHER. OVERALL THE HOUSE WAS OF GOOD QUALITY BUT SOME GAPS UNDER THE DROPPINGS TRAY WHERE WIND AND WATER CAN GET IN. MY HENS LIKE IT, AND LAID THEIR EGGS THERE WITH NO PERSUASION. I WOULD USE EGGSHELL AGAIN.

Very quick service and efficient delivery. The product was well made however the instruction leaflet has very small diagrams. My daughter and I managed to construct in about an hour. However the tray at the bottom kept getting stuck because the walls were not straight! My husband then had to take it apart again! I think clearer instructions would be a big improvement on an otherwise excellent product

Nice coop, however but possibly the worst instructions I've ever seen regarding assembly , also a few patch ups done on inside of coop before it was sent out .

AN well designed product. I did not have any problems with self-assembly but then I never do but a lot of people will. The assembly diagram could so easily be improved. This would gain full stars instead on four. If interested. please get in touch. Nev Sanderson

Lovely product and great service. My only reservation would be that the description stated for 8-12 chickens and I think 6 will be a right squeeze!

The instructions were poor but when we got in contact with the company they couldn't do more for us so 100% for customer service. The quality of the product looks good too but we've only had it for a week or so.

Good - The coop was easy to put together and is a good size. The pop hole is nice design. Tray below perches is a good touch for easy cleaning. Bad - The perches are in the wrong place. They were below the nest boxes so all the hens sat there at night. Now we moved the perches up high the hens are much better at roosting and more floor space. The whole coop was varnished before letting a hen near. The pre treating didn't inspirire confidence. Much easier to clean now it's shiny.

I was pleased to actually get a hen house because there seems to be a national shortage just now. This is my first one so I can't compare but it seems sturdy enough, is finished well and went together quickly despite the brief instructions. It also seems roomier than similarly priced houses, I have three hens and they have plenty of space. I don't know if the suppliers have any influence or indeed even read these reviews but two modifications would improve this house. 1) turn the roost box opening handle through 90 degrees as viewed along it's length so it lies flat against the structure when the door is open. 2) Put the run door at the end of the run rather than the roost end which would make servicing the food and water containers simpler. At the moment keeping the containers near the door impedes access past the roost ramp to the shady area under the roost box. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase and the chickens seem right at home.

Quick delivery to Northern Ireland (most other manufacturers refused to send outside England and Wales). Very straightforward to assemble with screws all clearly labled and holes pre-drilled. Looks good too. Heavier grade wood would have made it 5 stars for me.

Easy to use secure website. Not so good at answering the phone though - I tried repeatedly to call to arrange delivery and eventually had to mail them. Parcels arrived on time and in good condition. All in all, a good service - but coud do with an anserphone.
