“I would have clicked excellent but the new insurance arrangements where someone over 75 cannot get insurance is unacceptable particularly in an area of the UK where I imagine there are many. very active people of this age, including those freelancers like my husband who are still directing films and working 7 days a week. There are other car hire companies who have managed not to be dictated to by insurance companies idiocy and I suggest you look into this if you are not to lose masses of business. Hertz to it through Saga and there are others….it’s not impossible. With thanks Tina Golden”

“The staff were friendly and efficient although the waiting of 30 mins to hire was not comfortable. Would also add parking was an issue at this site. The van was excellent and return was very quick with the deposit repayment being returned within the time scale given. I would use again .”

“We have used Dorset Vechile Rentals on several occasions over the past few years and have always been very happy with the service. The manager and staff are friendly and helpful.The vehicles are in good order.”

“The vehicle was driven from Gillingham to the Hebrides and back, for a construction project. It performed reliably, was easy and comfortable to drive, and achieved something in the 30-32 mpg range. No idea if that was good or not for this class of vehicle. (About 800 miles on motorway at 60-70 mph, out of 1080 miles (74%)). Local Scottish roads were slow. Oil needed much topping up on start of hire - thought that should have been done in advance - but the engine didn't complain during the hiring period (1 week). Only significant fault was that the wing mirror winker lights on both sides had already been broken before it was hired (your yard chap said 'they are the first things to go'!). It was a 70 registration (YR70 PPZ), and had 18,624 miles on the odometer when hired, so rather surprised that you don't replace things like that occasionally as a matter of maintaining quality. The vehicle had several other minor blemishes (to be expected with a work-horse), and I was told that this type of vehicle is hired a lot by Wessex Water, so maybe it's not a big problem in the round. For me it was the oil top-up need and mirror winker light shortfall which didn't quite resonate with the otherwise OK hire. Shall be willing to rehire from Dorset Vehicle Rentals again.”

that is good to hear, thank you. We are trying to replace the ‘winker lights’ on the mirrors, but due to COVID we are struggling to get replacement parts from our suppliers.
