“No problem in making my booking which was relatively easy.”

“We stayed for dinner bed and breakfast. We were astonished at how beautiful and comfortable the room and en-suite bathroom were. We had a warm, friendly reception and Susan was charming and welcoming. The food was excellent, as good as any gourmet restaurant. I have already recommended Farthings to friends. We would certainly come again.”

“Hi, We booked a room for 2 adults and a child - the hotel advertised as this being a possibility within the process of a voucher we had received as a gift - but then to confirm the booking I had to pay an additional £25 to add the child to it. Really poor communication.”

Hello Mr Bills, Thank you for your feedback and please accept our apologies for any misunderstanding. The additional £25 charge has been applied by the hotel because the package is based on two adults only. Although the room can accommodate a child, the hotel adds a supplementary cost when a third guest is added to the booking which was done at the time of confirmation. “We have used Country Hotel Breaks before and had a great break. My only advice would be look carefully at things like meal allowance against menu as we found on last break allowance did not cover 3 courses and for each meal whilst excellent we would pay additional £20. Also when I looked at more details for potential Hotel we noted to use the pool was £30 pet person extra so elected for another property. I do feel company should speak to hotels regarding meal allowance it should be that this covers most starters , main course and dessert. However, despite this last break at Down Hall was amazing”

“Accommodation and food were OK, but no better than that. The sauna was out of use, I did not get my complimentary thermal spa treatment, and there was a general lack of attention to detail. The outdoor seating area was not well maintained: a dirty glass and cup were left from the night before. The shower hose in the bathroom leaked. Staff did not greet residents. The mushrooms with the cooked breakfast were tinned.”
