I was dissapointed to see that more than one hotel that I tried to book, which said had my dates available , actually didn't have any dates available as they are no longer taking bookings through your site ! Rather dissapointing ! The agent that I spoke to was very helpful. I eventually settled on a hotel, and found booking thriugh the website very easy.

Easy to book although a query raised a disappointing response. I was not satisfied with the reply from the booking team and consequently l would be hesitant to book again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The property itself is well-maintained, clean, and comfortable—definitely a good place to unwind. What truly stood out was the staff: incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made the stay feel warm and welcoming. However, the food was a bit of a letdown. Despite the inviting atmosphere, the dining options were very, very average. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing memorable either. If you're a foodie looking for standout meals, you might want to explore nearby restaurants instead. In short: great hotel, fantastic staff, but the culinary experience could use a bit of a boost.

Slightly confusing booking through the website. We’d been given a voucher valid for a stay at one of the ‘classic country getaway collection’. I had a look on the website and chose a hotel - but when I entered the voucher code it was only valid at a limited number of those hotels, not the full collection. The hotel we had planned to stay at wasn’t listed as bookable using the voucher. Not very clear - and a bit disapppinting.

While the original voucher is restricted to the Classic Country Getaway Collection, we’re happy to convert it to a money voucher instead, which can then be used towards any package or property available on our website. Settting was really nice, quiet and peaceful. The young man on the front desk when we arrived was very friendly and the the other young man that looked after us in the evening for our pre dinner drink and meal was exceptional and so friendly. The meal was very good but we were disappointed as the menu did not change for the other nights so decided to give it a miss. We found the way they kept tidying and cleaning tables especially at breakfast while we were still eating very annoying and not at all mannerly. We also found the women that were on reception in the morning very unwelcoming always chatting together, on phones etc and never raising their heads to say good morning. The room itself was very comfortable and clean and tidied daily. We were also very annoyed on the morning we checked out that they knocked on our door at 11.50 to tell us we should have checked out at 11 but we told them we had a late check out till 12 as part of our 3 night stay, again it was a women and we were made to feel very low as in all our travels all over the world and the UK never in our lifes had we a knock on the hotel door to tell us we should have left by then. All in all not a good experience and would not warrant us to go back.

We recieved a voucher as a present for a 1 night luxury stay with dinner, bed and breakfast. However, when selecting a hotel after putting in our voucher code there was only a selection of 18 hotels to select from most of which were at least a 4 hour drive for us which we felt was too far for a 1 night stay. We ended up booking a pub/Inn which would not have been our usual choice of overnight stay.

Unfortunately after a telephone enquiry about accessibility. They did not get back to me as discussed ( 5 days ago) . I went ahead and booked online which was very easy but did not receive an email confirmation - text only.

Booking experience was straightforward but I am really fed-up at the number and frequency of emails I get from them, trying to get me to book more breaks before i have even sampled the intiial booking

CHB were kind enough to permit extensions to the deadline to allow for illnesses. However, as a solo traveller, it was impossible to find out the final price from the website at the enquiry level until the booking was commenced. This is despite entering "1 Adult" in the enquiry. I decided where and when l wanted to go and then it was suddenly twice the quoted price. Massively disappointed at bit being able to go where l had carefully selected after several hours trawling the myriad options.

It took quite some time to book my break due to completing the the top section then going to a selected hotel and finding my dates were not available.

Lovely place and room. Friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. Nice breakfast. Matress was a bit too soft for our liking. Dinner was a disappointment to be honest. Overall, a nice weekend away.

I had initial difficulties redeeming my voucher with the selected hotel - however once I spoke to a member of customer services they were really helpful and reassuring - explaining the issue and helping to resolve this. I was called back as promised and now have my night away to look forward to.

Booking requires a UK phone number - I don't have one! Why do you not accept international dial mobiles?

Sorry for the confusion, we do accept international phone numbers on our booking form in the Daytime Telephone field. However, currently we are only able to send mobile booking confirmations to UK numbers, if you don't have one of these your confirmation will be sent via email. Hi I’m getting in touch as we stayed at your lovely hotel. 13/07/24 for our 15th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed with our dinner reservation. You had a private 70th party going on, so we had to have our dinner in the lounge upstairs. The food was lovely but there was no atmosphere at all. We were Tucked away in the Corner. I was actually sat on a sofa. We was really looking forward to a lovely restaurant experience but instead it felt like we had dinner in our own lounge at home. If it was communicated to me that we would not be in the main restaurant that evening for dinner then I would not of paid the extra for our package to dine with you. We could have dined in the many restaurants close to the hotel which I wish we had done to celebrate our anniversary. Really disappointing. How ever the hotel it’s self was 10 out 10. Absolutely spotless, complimentary tray in the room was a lovely touch. The staff were some of the friendliest and happiest I’ve experienced. The breakfast was also 10/10 Location was out standing. Would 100% visit agin. If it wasn’t a special anniversary night away and that we traveled 90 mins to get to we wouldn’t be so disappointed. Sorry to complain. I never do so normally. First time using CHB and the process seemed easy however confirmation took several days rather than INSTANT as shown on the website. We called the hotel before the booking for a specific reason and was assured all ground floor rooms had walkin showers. However, CHB could only confirm a shower over the bath. As we are both in our 80s and my husband has a blue disability badge a walk-in shower would have been appreciated so a bit disappointed.
