We have used Country Hotel Breaks before and had a great break. My only advice would be look carefully at things like meal allowance against menu as we found on last break allowance did not cover 3 courses and for each meal whilst excellent we would pay additional £20. Also when I looked at more details for potential Hotel we noted to use the pool was £30 pet person extra so elected for another property. I do feel company should speak to hotels regarding meal allowance it should be that this covers most starters , main course and dessert. However, despite this last break at Down Hall was amazing

The booking process was extremely efficient and fast, with confirmation sent immediately. I was able to speak to the hotel to clarify a few questions about the facilities the same evening that I booked the stay.

Accommodation and food were OK, but no better than that. The sauna was out of use, I did not get my complimentary thermal spa treatment, and there was a general lack of attention to detail. The outdoor seating area was not well maintained: a dirty glass and cup were left from the night before. The shower hose in the bathroom leaked. Staff did not greet residents. The mushrooms with the cooked breakfast were tinned.

I booked the hotel of my choice because it was in the area I wanted to go . When it came to redeeming the voucher through your website I couldn’t redeem the voucher , I emailed and rang yourselves and eventually got to speak to someone , she was rude , condescending and very unhelpful , she talked over me and treat with disdain , my husband bore witness to this as I was on speaker phone , I was appalled at her attitude. I was told the hotel had gone off line and probably didn’t have any availability . I rang the hotel who I have to say couldn’t have been nicer they did have availability but unfortunately couldn’t confirm my booking as I had a voucher , but they were very helpful and empathetic. I kept checking your website and eventually the hotel came back onto the system and I was able to redeem the voucher with them . I now wish I’d dealt directly with the hotel as I would have got a better deal .had your call handler been nicer I wouldn’t of had to write this awful review, which is something I don’t take pleasure in . I wouldn’t ever use your company again or recommend to anyone .

We have carefully reviewed the full call recording and would like to clarify that our advisor remained polite, calm and professional throughout the conversation. During the call, they explained that the hotel was offline from our system, which meant we were unable to process the booking at that time. They also outlined what actions we could take on your behalf, including contacting the hotel directly, and if they weren't able to accept the booking we could offer an alternative hotel by converting your voucher. The agent took your details and said they would call the hotel to check availability and return to you as soon as they could. We’re pleased you were later able to redeem your voucher successfully once the hotel listing was restored, and we’re genuinely sorry that the experience left you feeling dissatisfied. The website was very well laid out, easily accessed and crystal clear. I had occasion to rearrange our dates which I had concerns about. However! My concerns was blown away when I used the website and the alternative date requested, came through as confirmed, within about one minute. So efficient.

I was having a problem trying to book a hotel with a voucher I phoned country hotel breaks direct and a charming friendly lady named Clare sorted everything out and we ended up with a better deal

I booked a hotel room. The website let me. I paid. It took my money. An email arrived confirming that the money had indeed been taken. Later, another email appeared asking me to review the experience of the first email. Everything worked. No drama. No plot twists. Just pure, unrelenting functionality. A masterclass in being exactly what it said it would be.
