“My daughter in law gave us a voucher for a 1 night stay which she booked is a cosy room for 1 night. I emailed country breaks to ask to extend d our stay to 2 nights and upgrade our room as we have 2 dogs and the booked room only allowed for 1 dog. Rather that replying to my email you decided to contact my daughter in law to ask them for a further payment for our stay. I found this rather embarrassing as it looked like we were unappreciative of their original gift. I have no idea why you chose to ignore my contact details and go back to the person who bought a gift voucher. Ultimately it has lost you business as we’ve decided not to stay an additional night now”

Dear Mrs Myall, Thank you for your feedback and I’m very sorry for the embarrassment this caused. The original booking was made by your daughter-in-law using her name and email address. When you later contacted us, our system showed the purchaser’s contact details as the lead booker, which is why our reply went to her rather than to you. We completely understand how this would have appeared and apologise for the confusion. The new booking has been created fully in your name and email address so all future correspondence will come directly to you. “Very difficult to use the website. Pages were very slow to load and when booking the hotel the page would redirect to one that couldn’t be found. However you could redirect it back when the back arrow was tapped. This happened at every step of the process. I was using an Apple laptop.”

“Generally good but difficult to navigate the website. The Country Hotel Breaks needs to liaise with some of the hotels as to when rooms are or not available. The hotels I looked at were not the same as your website regards availability and types of rooms.”

“The whole booking system from start to finish was so clear and straightforward When searching hotels again the information on each was so clear and informative. I had to contact customer service as I didn't receive confirmation, although it had been sent it was just glitch. They responded immediately and sent it again,it's a nice change to have confidence in customer service...would definitely recommend”

“I was given a voucher to use and found the website very confusing to use the voucher. It was very limited to only certain hotels but trying to book the hotel was not easy. Also the sight charges more then if you booked directly with the hotel for the same package. In reality not a fan of this particular company”

Having looked at the hotel's website for your arrival date, while the bed and breakfast rate may appear slightly cheaper when booking directly, our package includes dinner, a welcome drink and late checkout. These extras are built into the value of the experience rather than being charged separately representing better value for money. “Rather disappointing to find out out the hotels that were available to me as I was using a Gift Voucher, was different to the hotels that were from the specific collection I was supposed to have available to me. And having to book a twin room is annoying”
