I used confused. Com to find home insurance. Found what I needed, went to the MBNA website completed the forms including bank details. Now I can't find the information on your site or on MBNA's website. I'm confused.

The timely reminders were good. However, clicking through to Hastings resulted in an error message. Don't know if this was an issue with their site or the details that were passed through from yours.

Dissapointing that you advised by email that renewal to be £269 but when I look on site it is £210. So confused is the correct word

It's not really confused.com's fault, but the home insurance policies were very hard for me to understand. I ended up going back to my local broker who spoke understandable laymen terms English to me, so I was clear what I was paying for. I found the whole experience of home insurance online very difficult and confusing.

Went through the process, updated the auto generated aspects from another insurance through Confused (have car, they were promoting house). Three best offers selected. Went through their process and then the price changed immediately. Then required a call which resulted in the cost being over £200 more than your promotion and suggestion. Total waste of an hour and leaves a lack of trust in the service

Beware, the initial results offers were all high. Then two weeks later an email arrived offering the same results at half the price. Clearly something amiss here.

After transferring to the insurer the page went black and I had to ring them up to pay. As I had to do this I am not aware I have received the offers from yourselves!

I used this comparison site to find my house insurance, took up one of the options, paid for it and received the policy on-line. On checking the policy details I noticed that the type of property was shown as "mid terrace". Although I live in a terraced property it is an end terrace not mid. In contacting the insurance company I discovered that I was liable to pay an additional £16.24 which is apparently the difference between the premium for a mid and end terrace. Confused.com., when contacted, put the blame firmly in my court telling me that their website did have an option for end terrace properties and it was my responsibility to tick the correct option. As I could not recall seeing any other option apart from "terrace" in the type of propery list I went back to check. At first I still couldn't see anything but "terrace" until I saw a + sign which when clicked showed one additional property type "end terrace". So although I was remiss in not realising that there was one additional terrace type hidden away I have to say that as the main visable list showed "terrace" and not "mid terrace" any reasonable person could be forgiven for assuming that the term "terrace" was a cover all for a row of houses, mid or end. This is particularly relevant when there is a difference in premium involved. Fortunately, Churchil Plus Complaints Dept. appreciated how this unfortunate situation had arisen and as a goodwill gesture refunded the additional premium amount.

The questions are very comprehensive but if I've incorrectly guessed the distant to the local river from my house or the height of my neighbors trees will the insurance companies run a mile in the event of a claim? Instead of reviews maybe a ranking of those insurers who have good payout history.The least said maybe? I start another week of running through my answers again!

No opportunity to enter an address manually if it doesn't appear on the drop-down menu associated with the postcode. Despite my new property appearing on the Post Office website, Confused hadn't updated its database, so I had to shop elsewhere.
