Got a competive quote on confused.com for home insurance with Admiral BUT when contacted Admiral the cost went up by a large amount.

I imagine Confused.com is fine providing your requested building insurance quote is for a conventional property. Each insurer dropped out once "thatch" was mentioned. So, wasted my time.

the search was specifically for flood risk. Only 3 options given, none of whom would cover flood risk but this information was only given at the point of purchase not on the results page

It is a very very frustrating process when you do all the questions then go to insurers website, to do questions all over again, to find there is an endorsement at the very end, what a waste of time and energy, and somewhat an underhanded method

Confused was fine but the link it supplied was hopeless. I waited so long each time I asked a question to clarify a point that I gave up. I wouldn't want to deal with Esure if I had a crisis and wanted to make a claim.

Most the options shown were a lesser level of cover and when matching the cover I entered into the system the prices were higher than my current provider.

As we are a comparison website, we don’t calculate the prices you receive and these are all calculated and returned by our panel of insurance providers, based on the information you entered on our website. They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for others with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. If you would like to query any of your prices, we would recommend calling the insurer directly and they should be able to explain this to you in more detail. Good competitive prices, but fell down when being transferred to the insurance companies site. Didn’t reload with details, so I had to re enter and the cost went up by £100. Phoned the company but they could not see the Confused quote. So I went else where.

Had to go through a few applications. The first misunderstood a field and had no option to undo. I couldn’t proceed. The next’s credit card processing didn’t work. Finally got insurance where their website worked correctly. Just because a quote comes up doesn’t mean you’ll actually be able to use the insurance. A lot of very poor websites.

No issue with confused.com but cheapest quote was from a company which only took direct debit or debit accounts. Not credit cards. This was not made clear until the end of the process requesting payments.

I did not buy anythying from you as the quote offered was loaded with more questions and the top quote company were absoultly awful to deal with so I did not bother and went elsewhere
