Although the system was fairly easy to use there were two questions that almost certainly adversely affected my quote or number of quotes received: 1) Has my house been underpinned. I had to answer yes but there was no chance to qualify that the underpinning was part of a planned extension 2) The distance my house is away from water is less than 200m but it is up a small hill; half of Sussex would flood before our house Also the amount of information on each quote was inadequate and required significant more research into each company / quote to understand what cover I was getting.

The comparison for insurance advised that British Gas was the best choice. However when trying to purchase the rate quote increased more than £300! There was no way to speak to British Gas or Confused - I sent an email to confused and still wait for a response. I had cancelled my original policy based on the result of your website. I then went to provider No.2 and purchased, although it was more than British Gas - not over impressed

Tried and failed to buy British Gas insurance as no button to click to actually buy it. Had to go elsewhere.

Website is not at all easy to use. Once I had the quotes on screen I found it next to impossible to accept one of them and progress with it. I left the website several times and came back in to see if I could access the quote. Eventually, by a complete fluke, I managed to find my way to the next stage. By then I had almost lost the will to live. Won’t be using it again

Chose Endsleigh, when the documents of the policy arrived, errors were pointed out and they wanted 85 pounds more and blamed confused,

The quotes received were unrealistic and when contacting individual suppliers they either declined to provide cover due to the nature of the property or the price was excessive.

After filling up the application on line I tried to pay. This was refused on different cards, with the indication I had to phone in. I did so but found I had to answer all the questions by phone ! Seemed a total waste of time so I did not continue , even though I would have saved money.

Having spent hours to find an insurance when I logged on to LV the first question it asked was about they type of heating at the house. When I answered that it was normal fuel it said that it was not their policy to insure. Really!

One of the recommendations on the site was intelligent insurance company who charged me 50quid despite me cancelling the contents policy within 20-30 mins of purchasing it (for justifiable reasons i might add) and not having received any confirmation of the purchase or policy documents through. Disgraceful. They simply referred me to the T and Cs without any due consideration.
