As we are a comparison website, we don’t calculate the prices you receive and these are all calculated and returned by our panel of insurance providers, based on the information you entered on our website. They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for others with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. “used to get a quote for home insurance spent ages filling in the forms only to be told they had to review the quote which went from £600 to £1000+ so complete waste of time and duplication of questions I had made a claim 3 years before but couldnt remember the details maybe they thought I was trying to be clever !! It was not the case but a waste of an hour or two”

A quoted price is accurate provided the information supplied on the quote form is also accurate, in this case it sounds like there may have been a discrepancy which when noticed by the insurer resulted in them recalculating the cost of the policy. “It's fine for getting a rough idea of what & who are available BUT pretty useless for finding what is actually involved in the detail & exceptions to various Insurance policies until you have actually signed up for them - by which time it's Too Late!”
