I rang today and asked for a quote to extend my cover, the call handler put me on hold, came back with a price which I checked, rang back, confirmed price and paid. I then received another call informing that they’d made a mistake and if I wanted the same cover I needed to pay an extra £300! I’ve been using Clegg Gifford for years and was willing to put up with waiting on the phone for 15 minutes + to speak to someone no more, they are not fit for purpose! I’ll go directly to Tradex

Shocking company. Nobody answers the phone,and then you either get someone thick or rude,ive spent £18 thousand pounds the last two years and I cant even change a vehicle on my motor trade policy.

Designed by fault insurance. Not in favour of customer. Quotes are pointless as once you accept they analyse your circumstances and target the negatives and invoice extras.(honesty gets you nowhere) Then they never answer promptly. The amount they invoiced me extra was an instant figure. The amount owed to cancel was not. Once they rang back the next day to inform me of my cancellation amount it was half it should be, once challenged it took another day. They cancelled the policy immediately once I said I no longer required it as it was now more than my previous policy haha. Anyway 1 week later still no credit !!! All 1 way. WARNING DO NOT USE. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

awful service, impossible to get through on the phone, still waiting on my renewal paperwork from april and have just noticed that a car I requested to be added to the mid has not been, luckily I have noticed before being pulled over or involved in an accident.... absolute waste of time company, will not be renewing come next april

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID - I am only giving one star because it does not let me have the option to put no stars. Please do not go with this company, I am putting this as a warning as the minute you do I can guarantee that you will be on here writing the same as me. If you live in the Channel Islands shop around because our insurance is really good and if you find a low quote all the other companies will beat it. The attitude of these staff members is disgraceful, no one cares about you or even cares a little bit to help you. You are transferred through without any warnings, if you get put through to the wrong department Harry will have a massive go at you because of his fellow staff members mistake. Harry is also now my post man as a letter which he claims was sent out 6 weeks ago got delivered to me. Chris Neil (can be found on facebook) works for Clegg Gifford but now goes under the name European insurance. He also used to work in the shop when it was over here. They will only tell you after 3 days on the phone to them that this is the person that you need to get in touch with. No one told me this until 1 hour before everything closes on a Friday afternoon. THANK YOU This company is just a pure disgrace, you can find much cheaper online or with your local companies. I can only wish someone told me this when I went and got insured by them. Employees of this company are disgraceful and need to be put on courses of how to have simple manners. I will continue to complain about this company and warn every other person of them. Jersey is an incredibly small island and word gets around fast. You are a disgrace. I record all of my phone calls - I will share these on your facebook page and then post the link back here. At the beginning of writing this I got on the phone to Ross Gower - I now am paying insurance £100 cheaper and got my temp insurance disc. Clegg Gifford - Email me, call me. Id love to chat about this (of course don't over do yourself and get back to me in a timely manner someone might have a heart attack!)

Absolutely worst ever insurance company ever Will never answer the call in there Wakefield branch been ringing since the morning 24/6/19 Just got intouch to be told sorry all our screens are full we are in a middle of another policy please email us Like wt the hell!!😡😡 Then to be told I’m rude and that she can’t do anything They willing to take £5000 from me to get traders policy but never there to help me when I need it Will definitely never use this company again and all those who seem to get the same issue stay away from this company Gonna you tube upload this conversation recording so that others know how this company operates😡😡😡

Overall happy with the service when I can contact the team, tried every office in the UK today and no answer. How this company is still in business surprises me!

No-one answers the phone. I was on hold for so long my phone battery gave up! Meantime my new insurer wants proof of NCB. AVOID!!

Despite several emails and phone calls, I have yet to receive proof of my no claims bonus for my new insurer. I had tried to contact Clegg Gifford to enquire about renewal but got no reply.

Exceptionally poor customer service. Public and Employers policy up for renewal. Received a very brief and informal email. Tried to phone - no ones answers. Answered email asking for some one to phone me as I had some queries, received another email with my renewal quote. How I could be quoted I don't know as they didn't know what queries/changes to the policy I had. Sent a reply email only to receive an out of office until well past my renewal date. Not sure what I'm supposed to do, as I can't contact by phone or email. Therefore gone elsewhere.

Worst service ever. Renewed my insurance but I'm thinking I should not have. It's been 7 days and still no email of documents and cars are not mid list. You will be waiting over 30 mins and still no answer. When they do answer they transfer to someone else, and no answer. They are happy to take your money but no service to back it up.

When online on Friday 05-04-2019 and filled in form for a quote. They sent me a email saying they would contact me on Monday 08-04-2019 (no time slot) I'm still waiting. Just found these reviews and glad now I they didn't follow up. If they are this slow giving you a quote how fast would they be if you had a problem or needed to claim.

Received email saying they would call me back within 24hrs but that’s well gone No wonder people question about giving them money for insurance when if I had a issue I would not be able to get hold of them
