Disappointed, as not enough care taken for delivery. Although chocolates were very nice four had melted in the box leaving a mess, thank goodness they were not purchased as a present.

Sorry to read this as we thought we'd explained about our clusters. Some of our chocolates - Hazelnut Latte Cluster & Roasted Almond Cluster - might give the appearance that they have melted, but it's just they way they have been made; they're piped into the petit fours cases whilst melted, and then they solidify (so they're not round domes or gems like our other chocolates.

Having to sign for a delivery doesn’t work for me. Royal Mail has v restricted collection hours for 4 days and not at a convenient time. Chocolates v good but due to the above I hesitate about recommending or another order as the arrangement is impractical.

We're so glad that you love our chocolates, but we're sorry to hear that Royal Mail tracked delivery service doesn't work for you. However you'll be pleased to know that a signature isn't required upon delivery and once you have your tracking number it's simple to change your delivery options before delivery is attempted (and after). You can specify delivery on a convenient day, to a neighbour or other local address or to a designated safe-place, as well as collection from a local Post Office.

Not our order - a friend sent them as a birthday present but we kept getting mailing and ordering updates from Chococo as if we had done it! NOT appropriate for us to have these details including the cost!!

Thank you for your review for the recent gift you received, and we're really sorry to sorry to hear that all the email communication including the order confirmation was sent to you. The only way this can happen is if the person who purchased the gift used your email address instead of theirs when they placed the order. We only have one field for an email address, so it's not a case of switched information. There is an instruction on our checkout which states "If you are buying a gift, please put your email address in at the top, then the recipient's delivery address, then your billing address", so we're sorry your friend missed this.

Lovely chocolates, but dismayed at the inability to order these to be delivered in a plain wrapper. I am informed by the company that branded boxes are used as a marketing tool. Does it really take that much effort or consideration to offer the option of a plain wrapper ? Telling me to have them delivered to a friend or neighbour really isn't the answer!

Thank you for appreciating our chocolates, but we're sorry about your frustration about us using branded boxes. As we explained, our business mentors recommended that our boxes should be branded to show pride in our brand. This is in line with many other premium businesses, especially in the food and drink sector. We make it clear on our "Chocs Away" email that the order will be packed in a branded box so that you can get to the door first if it's a surprise, and the information is also included in the FAQ's on our website. Whatever type of box your order is packed in - branded or unbranded - it will always have a Royal Mail tracking label on which includes our return address, so all it would take is one look at the label to see the box is from Chococo, and there's no way to avoid this. When you place your order, you can always request delivery to a different address - neighbour, friend, work address etc - and we can also change the delivery address up to the day before your order leaves us, and sometimes even on the day of despatch. There are also options with delivery once you have the Royal Mail tracking number as you can change your delivery options on Track & Trace using the Update Delivery Options button.

I have the same feedback as the last time I brought a box of chocolates from Chococo The quality is amazing, but you do not get every type of chocolate in the box! I’ve read the discription and chocolate list and there are some missing but multiples of others. I find this very strange and being completely Honest, I feel like it’s a bit of a con. I expect a minimum of 1 of each type of chocolate advertised to be in the box. Can only think that some chocolates must cost chococo more money to produce and this is a money saving tactic

Thank you for your review and we're so glad that you love our quality, but sorry that you're not thrilled. The list of flavours contained in our boxes can be seen on the 'Important Information About This Product' dropdown on the product pages of our website. Substitutions of one flavour for another is sometimes necessary in the themed boxes especially as we make in small batches and not all ingredients are always available. On our website we try our best to explain the nuances which may occur in our boxes without having to constantly update contents and our menu cards as our making cycles change. We can absolutely assure you that the contents of our chocolate boxes are not decided upon as a money saving tactic but based on our current menu, chocolate type as well as what they look like in the box - hence we have templates that the packing team work to. We certainly don't want customers to feel that we're conning them, and if any customer is disappointed, we really want to be able to put it right, or at least explain where there may be some misunderstanding.

Chocolate was good but only good which when paying £25 I was disappointed. Good flavour but nothing more than any other company that I've tried. Wouldn't want to recommend to others and won't be buying again anytime soon.

We're sorry to hear this. We're passionate about the quality of our chocolate and we only source fine single origin chocolate made with fine cocoa beans, pure cocoa butter and cane sugar, from companies who craft local fine cocoa beans into couverture chocolate in their countries of origin. It’s a shame as we have so many fans of our chocolate which is ethically sourced, hand-crafted and hand packed in plastic-free packaging, and worth every penny, but we also know we can't please all the people all the time, and at the end of the day, it's all a matter of personal taste.

Taste ok, not as expected for the price. No greeting message for the father's day as agreed.

Thank you your review, and we're sorry if we didn't quite hit the mark for you. We craft all our chocolates by hand and we use the finest single origin chocolate blended with local and fresh ingredients. Slave-free, ethical chocolate and plastic-free packaging too, so worth every penny. It sounds like you may have missed the 'Save' button when you added a gift message to your order as we didn't receive the instruction to include one, so sorry if you didn't spot this.

Slightly disappointed to be honest. We live Chococo and visit either Swanage or Horsham whenever we can. Normally we are very impressed but the box I purchased recently for my wife’s birthday was not great. Far too many Gin inspired chocolates and the weirdest bitter, salty dark chocolate thing which no one can possibly have tasted, it was revolting. It has put us off getting a box like this again.

Thank you for your review and it's great to hear that you're normally impressed when you visit our Chocolate Houses, however we're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your box. Our online selection boxes are made up to templates from our main seasonal menu of approximately 40 different chocolates which are all handmade using the freshest local & ethically sourced ingredients on a cyclical basis. Substitutions of one flavour for another is sometimes necessary as we make in small batches and not all ingredients are always available. Our gin-flavoured chocolates have all won awards and are usually firm favourites, so we're sorry if there were more of these than you would have liked. We sincerely hope you'll give us another try so that we can re-ignite your Chococo joy.

The Chococo webpage is nice, ordering and shipment was fast and easy. Quality of the chocolate itself is acceptable. I would consider buying again if I found the taste to be of higher quality.

The chocolate was ok but I'm sorry to say that personally, it wasn't any more than that. The flavours of the Milk Choc Bun bar were too subtle, but my main issue was that the chocolate was a little too smooth, almost slippery. I guess it's down to personal choice but the texture wasn't my cup of tea. I'm not sure it represented value for money compared with other choc options.

Thanks for your review, and sorry to hear that our chocolate wasn't for you. Our Limited Edition Milk Choc X Bun chocolate bar is crafted from 47% milk chocolate using Fino de Aroma cocoa beans grown in the Huila, Tumaco & Santander regions of Colombia, flavoured with allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg, and studded with sultanas. It contains more cocoa (and therefore less sugar) than most other milk chocolates for a deliciously creamy, yet rich, cocoa taste experience. But as you say, it's all a matter of personal taste.

Chocolate was well received but without my message which was extremely embarrassing! The "Teams" follow up was a lecture in useing you website........not very impressive and the out of office reply was from Easter and these were Coronation chocolates . If they had a 2.5 rating I would have left that !

Thank you for gifting Chococo and we're sorry that you were unhappy with our responses, but we're glad the recipient enjoyed their chocolate.

Most of the chocolates were nice, but quite a few didn’t taste of anything they said they were. I remember one labelled as being flavoured with rhubarb and vanilla, definitely didn’t taste either of those. Perfectly pleasant for the most part, but for the price I wouldn’t be buying them again.

This is lovely chocolate but does not float my boat not as creamy as I had hoped but white chocolate was lovely

We're so glad that you think our chocolate is lovely, but we're sorry to hear that it doesn't float your boat. It's probably worth mentioning that one of the slabs you had was dark chocolate and the other contained dark chocolate, so we wouldn't have expected either of them to be overly creamy.

Chocolate is pretty good however delivery is shocking. Don’t bother paying extra to leave next day as it won’t. Ordered a week before Easter, arrived after Easter! I purchased the goods from chococo not Royal Mail.

Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed our chocolate, but we're sorry that Royal Mail let us down on this occasion. We despatched your order the next day as promised and used Royal Mail 24h tracked service, but as explained, this is not a guaranteed delivery. Unfortunately your parcel was slow moving through Royal Mail, and whilst we completely understand that you bought from us, we have to rely on our delivery provider and sadly we were both let down.

Liked that it was plastic free packaging, taste was ok but not worth the high cost sadly. Also the egg was damaged, however this was more likely a courier issue.

Thank you, but we're sorry you didn't fall for our chocolate. If you'd let our lovely Customer Care team know about the damage, they could have sorted it out for you.

The Egg was bought as a present for Easter, whilst we had timely arrival and the package did not appear at all damaged unfortunately and sadly the chocolate egg inside was found to be in numerous bits! Albeit the egg chocolate tastes good as were the chocolates inside.

'fraid to say that, though the chocolate tasted great, it gave me terrible heartburn and indigestion - unlike other inferior chocolate - perhaps too rich for me!

Oooerrr... this is an unusual one, we've not come across this complaint before! Sorry to hear about this, but perhaps it could have been quantity rather than quality?

For over £30 I expected more. Small egg, but well made. Feeling disappointed when the box was opened.

There shouldn't ever be any size surprise with these eggs ... we clearly state the weight of the egg and the size of the box on our website, and you can get a good idea from the photo of the egg being held in a hand as well. We don't like disappointed customers, but sorry if you missed all the info.

We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy our dark chocolate egg. It was handcrafted using our signature 72% single estate dark chocolate made at origin for us by our direct trade partners Martinetti Cocoa in Ecuador from fine heritage Arriba cocoa beans grown on Hacienda Zoilita in the Los Rios region. This deliciously moreish, sustainable dark chocolate with purple fruit notes & a smooth soft finish is exclusive to Chococo shipped directly to us by sea - we love that 100% traceability from the farm to us.
