Chocolate lovely, delivery was slower than expected

Thank you, we're glad that you loved the chocolate. Sorry that Royal Mail were a bit slow getting your parcel through to you, though.

The recipient tells me that the chocolate was extremely good for being dairy-free. However, there was clearly an issue with insufficient packaging, the egg was absolutely destroyed by the time it arrived. Not the end of the world but very disappointing for the recipient given how impressive the intact eggs appear.

We're glad the chocolate was enjoyed, but sorry about the damaged egg. If you'd let us know about it at the time, we would have been able to put things right for you.

Eggs are for a Easter Raffle , just thought boxes may have looked a bit more Sumptuous as eggs were expensive. Hopefully taste will be excellent.

Don't worry, there's no doubt that the eggs will taste excellent! We pack all of our Easter eggs in plastic free, 100% recyclable Kraft boxes with recyclable card wraps, and they look exactly like the photos on the website (we even give the box dimensions), so they would look exactly the same.

Generally really good but didn’t include all of the award winners that they said would be there. Speculous and molasses were both missing unfortunately

Sorry that you missed two of the chocolates, but we will have substituted them for other award winners. On the rare occasion that we have to do this we only substitute with alternative award-winners .... in fact, we can't fit all of our award winners in one box, so it'll always be a winner! Our selection boxes are made up to templates from our main seasonal menu of approximately 40 different chocolates which are all handmade using the freshest local & ethically sourced ingredients on a cyclical basis, so occasionally we do need to make substitutions.

Very small!!

We really hope that the Chocolate Heart Box with Strawberry & Balsamic Caramels were enjoyed, despite you thinking it small. We'd like to point out that the size & weight are shown in the 'Important Information About This Product' on the website, but maybe you didn't notice it.

The Brownies were really nice, but they sent the wrong ones and they were late!

Thank you, we're so glad the brownies were enjoyed. We're real, live humans here at Chococo (none of your robots or machines malarkey), and on the rare occasion we can make mistakes, like sending the wrong type of brownie, but we did apologise for this and we did get it resolved for you. And as we explained, our 1st class delivery service is not guaranteed and has a 1-2 day delivery window. Sorry that it went a bit awry on this occasion.

I ordered three boxes of milk chocolate turtles, but at least one of them was wrong - stated turtles on the box but contained white, milk and dark chocolate dinosaurs. So a bit disappointing, and I haven’t yet heard from one of the other recipients who was also expecting turtles. Hopefully you can see the evidence in the photo I’ve uploaded

Sorry that there was a problem with the item you received. Less a case of a wolf in sheep's clothing than dinos in a turtle wrap! Hopefully the chocolate was still enjoyed. If you'd let us know about this we would have been able to put it right for you and we would also have been alerted to the problem. Sadly, you're unhappy, and as you didn't give us the opportunity of putting it right, we're unhappy. We're humans here at Chococo, with humans making the chocolates and humans packing them. This does mean we can occasionally get things wrong but we're here to put things right, if only we get the chance.

The advent chocolates don’t taste as great as the fresh and whilst I had expected that the difference was greater than I had hoped for the money. Not worth it at all. And also crammed into the box so difficult to get out. Wouldn’t buy these again a bit of a rip off and as the adventure calendar was just a piece of paper with numbers on…..

Oh no, we're sorry that you felt this way, but we have had very positive feedback on the flavours in this year's Advent Calendar. The moulds used the craft the chocolates, the boxes the chocolates are packed in, and the cardboard grids used are exactly the same size as we use for our fresh chocolates, so there was no difference here. If you have difficulty getting your chocs out, just take out a cardboard divider - simples! We even suggest this on our menus, as the grids are there to try to prevent the chocolates from moving in transit. And we're quite clear about it being an Advent Calendar with a difference i.e. without doors.

Received parcel today. Bought item as special gift for friend. Feeling a little underwhelmed at present. Hopefully chocolates are worth every pound spent in taste as the presentation is very lacking.

We're sorry to hear this but we really hope your friend loved her box of chocolates. Most people do love our ethical, hand-crafted and hand-decorated chocolates made which are hand-packed in recyclable boxes.

Did not like the chocolate snowmen at all

Sorry to hear this, but we hope that you still loved all the other items that you ordered.

Sorry to say they arrived with nearly half of the chocolates turned over. I’m glad I checked as one box a gift and the other for me. I had to painstakingly remove them and the paper case as couldn’t just flip them over as the slots very tight and I didn’t want to damage them. Even put glove on so as not to warm them up with my hands or dislodge the details or artwork. It was a shame as lost that wow factor on opening. I’ve ordered them in the past and received too so this was a first and both boxes had a good half of the chocolates flipped!

We're sorry to hear this. It's unusual for the chocolates to move so much in transit - as you say they have a very snug fit in the cardboard grid dividers, but they are always carefully placed the right way up when they're packed. We can only assume there was some over-exuberant parcel movement in transit! Thank you for taking such care in repositioning them for the box you were gifting 💛️

Ordered 2 items. One was not what I ordered. Should have been told it was out of stock. Alternative was dispatched to recipient but I wasn't told. Otherwise good service

Sorry to hear that something went wrong with your order. We don't usually substitute items if something's out of stock and we didn't have any stock issues at the time of your despatch, so this is strange. If you'd contacted us at the time, we would have been able to resolve any queries or issues you had with what was received.

Should support different delivery companies don't like that I pay for next day and it can't be achieved. Some items weren't individually packed I guess I skim read and misread it was a suggestion. Maybe leave suggestions off the description to avoid confusion. The chocolate boxes were great but really hard to get the chocolate out. Some caramel ones broken in the box due it being difficult to take out. That was feedback from all that took from the box. I guess moods change when it is frustrating to take out. :) Chocolates are nice by the way but not my mood.

Sorry for your frustration. We don't actually offer a next day delivery service at the moment; you selected 1st class 'ships next working day' service and as you ordered on a Friday evening, we shipped it on the Monday, so we did as we promised. We're not sure what you mean about items being individually packed as each item has its own packaging, then the full order is shipped in one box to your door. With regard to extracting your chocs from the box, there's a handy hint on the menu card suggesting you remove the cardboard grid if you find it difficult and there's also an FAQ about it on our website. The grid is there to help stop the chocs from moving in transit.

I ordered the Turkish delight for myself and another person but either of us liked it. There wasn't much flavour from the centre. For the price bit disappointing.

Sorry to hear that our Turkish Delight was disappointing. We started covering our Turkish Delight in dark chocolate after repeated requests from customers in our original Swanage shop for chocolate-covered versions of this traditional sweet treat. We only work with classic lemon & rose-flavoured Turkish Delight imported from Turkey and then smother it in our house dark chocolate. It's a classic flavour combination and an annual bestseller.

The honey Combe is not very crunchy anymore. It turns into a dust when I brake the egg, almost as if it’s slightly damp or that it’s been sitting for a while. I am guessing it is because the eggs are older as from Easter. But still tastes good.

Oh no, it sounds like air might have got to the honeycombe, but as you say it will still have been delicious ... and you paid a rock bottom price for an exquisite hand-crafted Easter egg in our sale!

Rather small for the price. Could have been darker and squishier.

Thank you for your feedback. We use our 72% Ecuador-origin dark chocolate to make our Squidgy Pecan Chocolate Brownies and weighing in at nearly half a kilo, we think that's quite a lot of squidgy more-ish yummyness hand-baked to order.

I really love your chocolate and have ordered several times for gifts for my family :) unfortunately this box had a lot of strange flavours which didn't taste so nice. We would love for the box to be more like a few years ago which had lots of tasty/ more normal flavours, particularly the intertesting caramels, pralines and fruit flavours. Kind regards, Fay

Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the flavours in this box as much as others. Our selection boxes are made up to templates from our main seasonal menu of approximately 40 different chocolates which are all handmade using the freshest local & ethically sourced ingredients on a cylical basis. We make in small batches and not all ingredients are always available, especially in these tricky times post-Brexit, but the flavours are always changing and will include a variety of favourite caramels, praline & fruity flavour combinations.

whilst the chocolate itself was lovely with a good texture and dark chocolate flavour the extra flavours didn't match up. there was insufficient ginger and the chilli though pleasant needed to be stronger.

I bought 2 plates of 100% Madagaskar chocolate as well as a mixed easter shapes tube. Very good chocolate except there was definitely something wrong with the second plate of the Madagaskar chocolate. The first one was just as I expected, smooth and bitter but with a hint of fruity sweetness but the second one was much more bitter, grainy and had no fruityness at all which made me very sad because I love Madagaskar chocolate. I was so happy to find a place where they sell it as 100% but I don't know if I'll order again because I feel worried that I might get disappointed again.

Thank you for your review, and we're sorry to hear that one of your bars of 100% Madagascar wasn't up to scratch. It's very strange for one bar to be perfect and the other to not only have a different texture but to taste different. If you'd let us know at the time we could have had a look into it and put it right. We don't like any of our customers to be disappointed.

Surprisingly high proportion of soft centre chocolates was disappointing. Would have preferred more truffles / nuts based chocolates than soft fondant like fillings. Otherwise good quality.

Thank you for your feedback. We use fresh cream and Raisetrade single-origin chocolate along with locally sourced ingredients to make our different ganaches, and many of our delicious hand-crafted beauties are award winners, but we don't have any fondant centres.
