Chocolates looked very attractive and tasty and were packaged well. However sadly taste wise they were a bit of a disappointment. There was a huge menu of different flavours enclosed. There were some that weren't on the menu that looked and tested just like plain basic chocolate truffles making up the numbers and most of those that were on the menu, and sounded very tasty were sadly very bland and fairly tasteless. As lovely as they looked and as much as I like to support smaller independent businesses for the price paid I expected better and wouldn't make a repeat purchase.

Dear David, Thank you for your custom and for taking the time to send us your review. We are sorry to hear that the chocolates weren't to your taste and that you found them bland as we work very hard to ensure the Christmas Selection Box contains a wide variety of flavours and the truffles that are included, are certainly not there to make up numbers. If anything, truffles are the most time consuming chocolates we make as they are hand-piped, hand-dipped and hand-rolled in their finishes. We make a vanilla-infused fresh dorset cream milk chocolate truffle with single origin cocoa from Venezuela and a dark chocolate truffle with coconut milk & single origin cocoa from Uganda - very different taste experiences! Not quite as good as previous years, less variety and nothing particularly special. I’m a big fan of boozy chocs of which only one or two in this ‘selection’. Predominantly dark which was disappointing. Maybe the Christmas selection would have been better.

We are sorry to hear that you didn't think the selection was as good as previous years and we are a bit puzzled by your reference to the lack of variety and lack of boozy chocolates. There should have been as wide a selection as historically and also quite a few boozy ones in the box! The Christmas version certainly did and by that point in December, the ongoing selection box should have had a lot of the festive boozy flavours in it too. The chocolate is exceptional, no doubt about that, but the flavours and fillings were a real mixed bag. Not to mention that out of a box of 50 chocolates, we only got 20 different ones, which felt disappointing especially when the booklet showed a selection of many more, and we were unlucky enough to not get a lot of the flavours that would have been our preferred choices. I'd give them another go on a non-winter flavours selection, but overall a little disappointing.

The chocolates were good but somewhat disappointed by the selection. Ordered a box of 50, but several of those listed on the web site were not included, several repeated multiple times. Very hard to work out what many of the chocolates were as they didn’t seem to resemble the pictures on the card, too many look almost identical to others.

Dear Leslie, Thank your for taking the time to send us your feedback - we are sorry to hear that you felt there were too many repetitions in your cascade. We have a team review meeting next week and I will be adding your feedback to the list of things to discuss, as whilst there will have been repetitions of the most popular flavours (to avoid arguments!), there should have been a wide variety of flavours with some different flavours across the boxes. We do work hard to ensure the images on the menu correspond to the chocolates but as the chocolates are hand-decorated, sometimes they can vary slightly but the packing team shouldn't include any that vary too widely. Again, this will be included in our review - we do work very hard to explain the look and contents of each chocolate and actually do more than some of our competitors who only provide written summaries with no pictures, but it sounds like we need to try harder in 2021! Chocolates still haven’t arrived 10 days after order. Appreciate this is down to Royal Mail however a proper courier service would have meant we would have got them in time for Christmas - I think for the cost this is not unreasonable.

Not very impressed. 25 chocolates but a menu with many more and very difficult to identify which was which. I was hoping the descriptions would match the eating but not so, just average nothing to rave about and I wouldn’t buy again. Sorry

Very creative mix of flavours overall, presentation is excellent. Far too skewed towards dark chocolate though with hardly any milk or white chocolates. We would prefer a more even mix. Can we give preferences somewhere? I couldn't find this option if it exists.

Dear Benedict, Many thanks for your custom and for taking the time to send us your feedback. We will take your comments on board for our team review next week as we do listen to all feedback. Yes we probably do skew more towards dark chocolate but there should have been some milk flavours in there too. Further, some of our chocolates may look like dark chocolate as the shell is dark, but will have a milk or white chocolate centre. We do this to balance flavours and avoid a chocolate being too sweet. This is why you wont see any chocolates made by us with white chocolate shells. To answer your last question, we don't offer a service to create bespoke boxes on our website, but (in normal times) if you can visit any of our 4 chocolate houses, you can choose the chocolates to fill a box from our display cabinets. We have checked your order and can see that you ordered x7 of the same type of bauble, so if you intended one to be dark chocolate, it appears that you didn't actually select one of that type. We could have fixed it for you before we despatched them if you had alerted us on receiving your initial confirmation of order email. This email includes a summary of the items in your order. It’s a present for my vegan grandson so haven’t been tasted. It’s far too expensive, box much smaller than I expected, Including postage it works out nearly £2 a choc.!!

My friend who received the chocs I sent from yourselves loved the chocolates but spent some time trying to discover who they were from ? The message that I had placed on the order must have been left out of the package 😫

Unfortunately the first bauble I ordered arrived broken and didn’t notice, as for son’s Xmas, but have since ordered two more, which arrived safely and look good.

All items leave us well packed but sometimes, especially at the moment with such high numbers of parcels in the Royal Mail system vs previous years, fragile items can get damaged and this is sadly something that is beyond our control. My first order of 16th November was unfortunately all broken. Tasted good but didn't look great. It was for a 70th birthday gift. The second order of 3rd December was thankfully intact.

Unfortunately the skulls weren't packed well enough and arrived in pieces. Twice! Maybe they should be packed like Easter Eggs.

Hi, I confess I adore chococo since stumbling on your shop in Southampton. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with the Turkish delight portion size. The product itself was delicious, but For almost 8 pounds sterling I received about 6 small pieces? Gosh. I don't think I'll be buying online again unfortunately.

The quality of the chocolates is stunning. And I really appreciate the ethics behind the sourcing and the manufacture. I am also very fond of the staff in the Exeter branch who are without exception wonderful. The only ‘fly in the ointment’ is the complete lack of response to any of my emails. They were about requesting single item chocolates on line. Orange odyssey to be exact. The silence is deafening!

I ordered a 3 month subscription for a friend. I asked for her to receive a voucher but she was instead sent her first box. The order was also dispatched quite a few days after it was placed, without any forewarning on the site that dispatch might take some time. The chocolates themselves were well received.

The chocolate was nice and customer service was good. However, unfortunately my order was sent with an incorrect address so had to be recent, which meant it was delayed.
