“I would like to send a really big THANK YOU To Yvette and her team!! They went far beyond the call of duty spending at least half an hour resurfacing my wife’s new Rieker boots which I had damaged with an old waterproofing spray. We have always found the staff at Clinkards very helpful and friendly but the help and expertise I received was outstanding. Thank you so much. Jonathan Nottingham”

“I'm really pleased with the Josef Siebel boots I bought online from Charles Clinkard. I've had the same boots previously so I knew they would be both smart and comfortable. The website is easy to use and the delivery was quite speedy. The reason I have only given 3 stars is that if the boots had not been suitable, for whatever reason, I would have to pay for returning them. In this age of free returns service offered by many companies, I find this perplexing, and would certainly not buy shoes/boots from Charles Clinkard unless I was certain they would fit me.”

Thank you for your review. We do deliver free of charge, and if an exchange is needed, we cover the cost of delivery to the customer again. We do as you are aware ask the customer to cover the cost of return, or take back to a Charles Clinkard store. We allow up to 365 days so long as the item is unworn. There is a link on our website where for a discounted price of £3.20 you can buy a Royal Mail tracked label, or if you have a lot of items to send, you can buy a label again at a discounted price with Collect + which costs £4.45 and covers up to 10 kilo. “Disappointed with shoes the sizes was not as usual size 6 to large, have bought many shoes from your Gabor range in the past and been delighted with all. This was my first return and felt aggrieved at paying for the return, this will make me look for other outlets who sell Gabor shoes and don't charge for returns. Your service in the past has been excellent.”

“The shop in Keswick is excellent. Staff v friendly and helpful but they do not receive shoes in my size, which is EU 41. I had to order online. I paid for next day as 3-5 days delivery is too unpredictable and unsafe for an expensive order. The shoes did not fit right. To return I had to either pay and drive to the Post Office to post or drive back to Keswick to the shop. You did not refund next day delivery charge. So I was paying extra a few times over. Why? Because the head office does not provide Keswick store with size 41. I tried to call your helpline several times. Someone put the phone down on me every time as soon as I selected the correct automated option. Local shop - Excellent. Central office - Poor.”

Thank you for your review. I am sincerely sorry that you have had a problem with connecting to our Customer service team. We are here 7 days a week to help our customers. Customer service is very important to us, and that you were unable to connect to us is very disappointing. We will look out for this happeneing to others, but we are unaware of a problem at the present time. We do offer a free delivery postage service of which can take 2 to 5 working days. However as you asked for a next day, this is charged as it is prioritised over other orders and then send out with a next day service courier. This payment is not refunded. If you prefer not to send back your order via the post office, for which there is a link to buy a tracked ticket for just £3.20 on our website, you may send back using any courier that you wish. We also allow up to 365 days for you to return an order so if you are not near one of our stores, but do visit an area where there is one occasionally, you can return to store if you prefer. “Very good selection of smart, comfortable looking footwear in the Broadway shop. Service was very good but there were a shortage of black Sketchers in required size in the shop. Assistant ordered the pair I wanted in black and they were delivered to my house in less than 1 week, so a very good experience.”
