Unfortunately, after constant visits to my local Charles Clinkard store without success, I was so pleased when my size was eventually available online. Sadly, the front of the left trainer has a black scuff mark but because I have waited so long for these trainers I have had to accept these less than perfect, expensive trainers

Very nice shoes when they arrived,but the delivery was not good, with several "sorry we missed you" messages when they were trying to deliver tother wrong address.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had a problem with the delivery. As we do not have our own courier we pay a delivery service to collect and deliver for us. This is either DPD or Royal Mail and if you have a preference, you can let us know we can use the one of choice. I am sorry that you were let down and disappointed on this occasion. Box and packaging very tatty like it has been used before both sandals and box

Sometimes we may have a customer who will order two for size and return one pair but these should be checked upon return and again at dispatch to ensure that they are unworn. Ordered 2 pairs of sandals. One pair ok and as described. Other pair completely wrong. Label on the shoebox is correct to what I ordered but inside is completely different pair of shoes to item ordered. Obviously no one has bothered to look inside the box before despatch. Spoke to nice lady on telephone who is sorting this out for me but this shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Basic checking required

Product excellent. Delivery bungled and suspect. Item not delivered despite confirmation that it had been. Finally arrived after several conversations with carrier.

Good looking shoes but I was disappointed with the sizing - they came up very small so I had to return them requesting a larger pair. I hope they are a better fit- if not I will not order from this site again

You can take items to a Charles Clinkard store if you prefer rather than having to post them back to us. You do have up to a year to return items, so long as they are unworn and they can refund or arrange an exchange for you. I hope that this helps for future reference. I ordered a pair of Gabor mules from Charles Clinkard. When they arrived, they were much too big more like a 7 than a 61/2. I was very disappointed. Having said that, they had a good selection of shoes. I would be loathe to order from them again as I had to pay return postage.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the shoes that you ordered did not fit and needed to be returned. You can take them back to a Charles Clinkard store if you have one near to you, and we allow up to 365 for you to do this. We do deliver free of charge but do ask customers to cover the cost of returns if they send them back by post. If an exchange is needed, w would again cover the cost of postage to you. I have bought from Charles Clinkard before and would have recommended them. This time we had to go through the nonsense of the courier (DPD) sending me a note to say that he couldn’t find the house when we were in - my shoes were finally delivered in ripped packaging 3 days later. As with many others, we have increased our buying on line and have never had a problem with delivery. I know that couriers are having problems with fuel costs and in rural areas are bundling drops together. Beware DPD Charles Clinkard - they will let you down.

Firstly I loved the trainers, very comfortable and suit my needs perfectly. However, on arrival, the box was bashed in and the shoes had nothing inside them to pad them out, so one of the heels was squashed in too. However, because I liked them so much I was able to get them back into shape and inserted shoe trees as normal. I also had another box to keep them in. I only mention this because you have asked for a review of my experience with your company. I find it strange that shoes are despatched with no tissue and card inside them.

I was promised a £5 voucher code for signing up. It never arrived and when I phoned I was given a code to use for my next purchase (which will NOT be happening). Poor service. Not good enough.

Shoes were uncomfortable and looked cheap with plastic straps...when paying over £100 I would have expected leather.

Excellent service only negative is the shoes I ordered described as Reiker extra wide were ,in my opinion, at best wide fit. That is not a critisim of Clinkard but perhaps Reiker.

I visited Charles Clinkard at Chichester. Staff were extremely helpful. However the fact that there was only one till meant that anyone with a return and a purchase took some time as the machine was very slow. I am sure that a shop this size and being busy should have two tills to avoid queues forming. Sylvia and Daniel were very helpful.

The boots I ordered were delivered in good time but when I tried them on they were too small. There was no larger size available. This meant I had to pay for delivery twice - a costly experience and no nice boots to wear!!!

Concerning delivery, there is a free standard delivery service, however, your order choice was for an express delivery chosen for £3.99. Quick and efficient delivery, easy ordering. But I was disappointed to have to pay for returns. My mum is 89 she walks a mile or so everyday so needs good shoes. She cannot really get to the shops.

The shop is always chaotic never enough staff to serve, I avoid sale time as it turns to a jumble sale, I needed sandals for an event I was attending , couldn’t get any help so left, bought from another shop, got home they were £30 cheaper on line your shoes are great quality but I will be buying on line

Love the selection available and quality from Clinkards - unfortunately where they let themselves down is in not providing free returns this means if the item is available elsewhere with free returns policy I would shop there
