“I ordered some Rieker trainers fro Charles Clinkard which were delivered promptly. Unfortunately there was a mark on one shoe. I contacted customer services and the issue was dealt with just as promptly. Jan (who dealt with my call) was courteus and efficient. The return label was emailed to me at no cost and the replacement trainers deliver the next day. Outstanding customer service.”

“The sandals I purchased were lovely but the sizing is all out. I'm always a size 6/39. That what I ordered. The sandles I received were very small that they looked small when I got them out of the box and were far too small when I tried them on. I measured them against my other reputable sandals and they measured an inch less in length. I double checked the sizing chart online and it stated size 6/39. No cm as a guide so of course you would order the size you normally wear. I then had to pay to return and exchange which I did for a size 7. The sandles now fit. It a bit frustrating that the size guide is very basic and sandles are manufactured small and then you have to pay to exchange. I did email to tell them my thoughts. I received an email back stating that lots of factors effect the sizing, That's wasn't much help. I won't order again as I don't trust the sizing now and shouldn't have to pay postage to exchange .”

I understand how frustrating it can be when sizing doesn’t feel consistent. Unfortunately, there are various reasons we can't offer exact measurements. Some examples are below - - No universal standard: There isn’t a worldwide sizing system in cm that all brands follow. Some base their conversion charts on UK sizing, others on EU or US, and the internal lasts they use vary too. - Variations in production methods: Each brand we stock works with different factories, materials, and production techniques, meaning the exact length of a shoe can vary slightly, even when marked with the same size. - Style differences: Sandals especially can feel very different depending on strap placement, toe shape, and overall design, which can make them appear shorter or longer compared to other pairs of the same size. As you suggested, you cover the cost to return items to us. However, you can purchase a reduced cost label from us at £3.20 or return to any of our stores.
