Received a marked, poor condition pair of Josef Seibel slip ons. Sent in pictures as requested and have emailed twice further and and not received a response to the emails. I won’t be using Charles Clinkard again!

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear your shoes were not of the high standard you would expect. We do source items from both our warehouse and our stores, where they may have been on display or tried on. However, this should not affect the quality of the product and items which are not of a high standard should not be sent out. Website easy to use. Delivery was very prompt, but slippers needed repairing at Timpsons the cobblers four days after they arrived when the stitching came undone. I would have returned them if I had kept the box and packaging.

I received an invoice showing the correct shoes as was sent something entirely different. I did receive the money it cost me in returns and got an auto sorry mail No one rang or offered to resend the correct pair so you missed a sale not very impressed

Normally service is great but to fit 2 children took over an hour the person serving us was very slow and only fetched 1 pair of shoes out at a time and when I asked another assistant if she could deal with my other daughter she said she wasn’t allowed, which when wasn’t too busy wasn’t the answer I wanted or expected

I ordered a pair of Clark's shoes from Charles Clinkard on 6th August this year for delivery at my home. An email stated the order had been dispatched on 7th August. I heard nothing from then on (from the delivery courier or the store) stating what date/estimated time slot a delivery would take place. I also received no delivery cards either saying that a courier was unable to deliver to myself or a neighbour. I emailed the sales department at Charles Clinkard on 12th August but heard nothing back. I emailed again on 15th August only to get a reply saying Hermes attempted to deliver 3 times between 9th-13th August and they finally sent me the tracking info. Why was this tracking info not sent to me before? The delivery was now to be sent back to the store and they would issue a refund. I won't be wasting my time again with either Charles Clinkard or Hermes. Hermes are notorious for not delivering packages and not giving tracking info - there is a reason they are so cheap! They are completely ineffective. I expected more from a store like Charles Clinkard for using a courier like this, especially since customer's are paying a relatively high amount for good quality shoes. I'll go directly to Clark's from now on.

The order was dispatched directly from the distributer, and the courier they use is Hermes. Your tracking information should have been sent with your dispatch email so you were able to track your order. We did not receive your initial email on the 12th August unfortunately, I have looked through our mailbox and I am unable to see this. When my colleague replied to your email on the 15th August we issued a refund to avoid any further delay or inconvenience, as the item had been returned to the distributer. The issues were relayed to the distributor so they could investigate this with Hermes to prevent this happening in the future. The shoes took a while to arrive. When they did, the parcel was covered in grease and dirt. It had been put in a Royal Mail bag to contain the grease. When I was finally able to unpack the box the inside of the right shoe was protruding because of a solid blob of glue on the side where the little toe goes. Needless to say the shoes had to be returned and my bed duvet cover had to be washed to remove all the grease! Not a good shopping experience at all.

Our standard delivery is dispatched within 5 working days and on checking the process of the order, we dispatched your shoes out for you on the 3rd working day with Royal Mail. Once the item is passed to the courier we do hope they arrive quickly however any delays with the delivery at this point are out of our control. We would like to apologise on behalf of Royal Mail for the condition the outer packaging arrived in, when sending out our parcels, we ensure the packaging is pristine and it is disappointing this happened. With reference to the shoes, we do check items before dispatch for colour/quality and size however we are sorry this particular pair were overlooked. We can confirm these were fully examined and tried on by our Returns Team and the fault within the shoe was noted, we issued a refund as no further stock was available for you. Honestly, after placing the order- awful. I am still waiting for one pair of my shoes to arrive over two weeks later! I firstly received someone else’s shoes which I had to return, then one pair of mine- poor quality-could see the glue all over the shoe! And now am still waiting for the second pair. Really not impressed at all.

We offer a free standard UK delivery with no minimum spend. However, we do ask the customer to pay the returns cost. Returns can be taken into a Charles Clinkard store or returned to our Head Office. We do recommend a tracked service, however it is up to the customer to return whichever method is convenient. We do offer a Collect Plus label through the returns section of our website, which is £4.49 for up to 10kg of returns, which can be suitable for those returning multiple or heavier items. My rating is ZERO sadly they don't have that option. I ordered an item on the 29th of July. I have not been communicated on its status and yet they want review of an item that has been not received. I don't not recommended them, order at your own risk.

I ordered a pair of size 6 Gabor sandals online. They arrived while I was out (as no indication of time of arrival). This meant that I had to drive to the local sorting office in Dewsbury (I live in Mirfield) the following day. When I returned home and opened the parcel, I had been sent one size 6 and one 6.5 sandal. This meant another trip to Leeds this time to return them to the store. This also incurred a parking charge. They had a pair of the sandals in a size 6 which were slightly cheaper than the online ones. A lot of trouble in my opinion!

Hello, Thankyou for your review. We offer free standard delivery with no minimum spend however do ask for returns to be paid for by our Customers. You can opt for any service which is convenient however we do recommend a tracked service, Post Office will have varying services and Collectplus is £4.49 for up to 10kg in weight and is better for larger items or a multiple order. Also, our Charles Clinkard stores can assist with your return, just take along your shoes and invoice within 35 days of receiving them in an unworn condition and they will process a refund or exchange. Ordered an item 13th July, received wrong item, my item sent to wrong customer and no more in stock. Returned my item, awaited correct item for almost 2 weeks, still not returned from other customer almost 2 weeks later so all I could be offered 3 weeks after my initial order was money back!

There were too sticky price labels attached to one sandal. The glue was so strong that it removed part of the leather insole. The sandals have been returned and am awaiting a full refund.

We understand that the sale sticker being stuck on the insole can be difficult to remove, but this has been found to be the best place currently to position our sale stickers. Our stores recommend using a protector spray or hot soapy water to remove any residue of the sale sticker without damaging the inner sole. Your comments will be passed on to the correct department. Couple of sale items purchased and both unsuitable. Bought ‘junior’ size 7 sandals from here, received an adult size 7 and when I wrote to them to let them know they told me that the website said junior was for older children. I didn’t know there were 3 different size 7s, I’d only come across junior and adult before!!! Insulting and passive aggressive customer service and misleading sizes on website. Junior size 7 converse were ok for my pre-schooler size-wise, but the tongue slid round and they were very uncomfortable so cannot be worn. There’s a reason they were in the sale. First time using the site and never bothering again, stick to Schuh and Office. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Thank you for your review. We are genuinally sorry to hear that the shoes that you ordered were not what you were expecting. There are only two size 7 shoes, this is the Infant and the Junior. The Junior shoe is the same length as the adult shoe, but will be slimmer in foot as it is for a child. If you believe that there is a fault. you can also return the Converse to us so that we can take a look at them for you. Please just ensure that your order number is within the package along with the reason that you are returning, this will enable us to act upon your instruction as quickly as possible. All of our sale items have previously been full price on our website and there should be no faults, we are more than happy to take a look for you. My colleague has previously sent to you a pre-paid label to return the shoes to us at no cost to yourself and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. If you have a problem in printing out the label, please let us know so that we can pop one in the post for you. Really disappointed with my purchase , I brought my wife for her birthday a pair of fit flops from you , we always buy ours shoes from yourselves but this time when we open the box one of the fit flop looked new and one looked already worn .
