Hi - Thank you for your review. Here is a little more information regarding our lab tests in relation to your feedback. The main fabric used in the construction of the Car Shades product is a polyester mesh fabric. The fabric is treated with a UV stabiliser so that it doesn’t fade over time when being exposed to direct sunlight. The fabric also has a flame-retardant coating to ensure it complies with motor vehicle standards for interior trim products The primary function of the product is to reduce sunlight into the rear cab of the car. Laboratory test data states that light reduction into the rear of the vehicle is on average 72% compared to when no shades are used at all. This means sunlight entering the rear cab of the car is significantly reduced compared to when no shade is used but still allows rear passengers to see out and with the fabric being a mesh construction rather than opaque means that air can also flow through if the rear windows are opened. The UPF rating on the product is 3.5 in accordance with Intertek testing laboratories. We have our fabric tested at independent laboratories for multiple purposes. This is to include flammability testing, colour fastness to light, colour fastness to rubbing, light reduction and UV protection. The tests we have carried out on the fabric is a ‘Solar UV Protective Properties of Apparel Fabric – BS EN 13758-1:2002’. There are two types of UV rays which are UVA and UVB - Our fabric test checks for both. The mean UVA rating of our fabric is 29.4 and the mean UVB is 29.1 If we took the lesser of the two we would therefore claim that our Car Shades fabric has a UPF of 29.1 (ie 1/29th of the suns UV rays pass through and exposure is reduced by 29 times – 1 in 29 – or 58%) Therefore our UPF rating for the product is 29.1 and considered as a very good UPF In summary, our Car Shades product does indeed offer UV protection, it is not a total UV block out and it does not reduce 100% of sunlight entering into the rear of the car. As stated, its function is to reduce the amount of bright sunlight entering the rear of the car and by nature of how we achieve that and the type of fabric we use there is a UV reduction attained accordingly. Massive regret purchasing this product. Firstly, fitting instructions are shockingly bad. A couple of videos on their website provided some help, but the instruction sheet that comes with the product is all but useless. The produt itself looks well made but in my case was too large for the window and did not sit flush inside the window recess. After raising this with customer services they insisted the product was correct and that i would need to keep adjusting it until i got the correct fit. The only problem with this is that the clips they provide, not only do they not appear to fit particularly well, are also made of metal. Therefore, attempting to manipulate a product with three sharp metal clips attached to it, that is clearly too big for the space intended, has inevitably resulted in several scratches to the surrounding window trim. I am currently in the process of arranging a return for refund. The whole experience has proven to be a damaging and costly mistake which i hugely regret. Much of this could be avoided if the company put a bit more care into demonstrating to their customers how the product should be fitted and what it should look like once complete, especially as there is the potential to damage your vehicle if the product is marginally too large/

The shades fit well but don't block out a lot of light. My toddler is still squinting in the back of the car and screaming as the sun is in her eyes. Not worth the money.

very disappointed. bought as a birthday gift for someone very fussy about their car, I expected better quality for the price. one labels already coming off and I checked they'd fit her car and the back 2 panels crossed over and when I tried to hold them even one of the clips shot off. instructions aren't clear at all now I have to pay to return the huge parcel and I have no money and no birthday gift. not what I expected at all

very very disappointed with my order, I was forced to pay more than 40 euros in customs fees, while on your site you do not specify anything about this. it is on I will not recommend you and I am sure that you will not even answer this mail. Inconceivable at the limit of the scam whereas on Amazon there are no these costs. very disappointed !!!!!!!!

For relevant countries, VAT isn't charged on the order and the customs charges are set and charged by the country of destination which as I am sure you can appreciate is out of our control. ** AVOID** Very poor product quality meant I could not use these shades and when you raise this issue with the company you get no response for weeks and then a generic email about terms and conditions and 14 days to return a product, but only once you have contacted them first, but there trick is not to respond....

After receiving the shades I noticed that two of the clips were missing, not a great start. I have sent you 3 emails over a week ago and still had no reply. I’ve tried to call and on both occasions I was on hold for over 25 minutes, but I was apparently number one in the queue the whole time, but no one answered so had to hang up. Very frustrating when I’m calling from Ireland, which costs me to call. Customer service is none existent. Plus the clips I have, I tried putting on the shades and they only go on if you bend the clip. All in all not a great experience or product. I wouldn’t use car shades again.

Hi Casey We are sorry you haven't had a good experience with us, however after looking into this we can see that the order was cancelled because the wrong country was entered during the checkout process, and because England was selected instead of USA, that meant the shipping and tax chargers were both wrong for your order. You should have had an email from us notifying you about this, therefore we apologise if this didn't land. If you would like to place another other, once the USA is selected on the checkout page as the shipping country that will automatically calculate both the delivery cost and the tax charge. I ordered the car shades and they arrived relatively fast. However I just could not get use.to the visibility especially out of the rear window. I have sent 2 emails and have never received a reply to any of them. I have followed the returns policy and sent the shades back and have the confirmation of delivery as well as photo. This was also followed by an email explaining why (which they asked in the returns policy) which again was not replied to. I have tried calling numerous times and it just rings out and puts you first in the queue for 30 min. I have not received my refund or even confirmation I will. And after reading these reviews it seems people are experiencing the same. A good product (just not for me) let down by poor customer service

I didn't like the product when I received it (details below). I returned it, but haven't had a refund and have experienced Terrible Customer Service. I ordered a set of carshades, but found the installation very fiddly with all of the little clips that could easily get lost if you wanted to remove the shades e.g. for rear windscreen visibility at night time. I also felt that the small metal clips could scratch the car if not installed perfectly each time. So I returned them the following week under the 30 day moneyback guarantee. I posted them recorded delivery and have confirmation from Royal Mail that they were received on Friday 02 June 2023 It has now been over 30 days, still no refund and Carshades has ignored my emails and the phoneline is always busy. This is the message I received when I originally asked about returning the product. "Hi you are welcome to return your order to us under your 30 day money back guarantee. Ordered shades for back side windows of my Honda HRV 2021 advertised as suitable for reg 2015 - 2021. Did not fit and had to return at my own cost. I then had to chase my refund after 2/3 weeks. Advertising and after care very poor.

Send the wrong product, not what’s on my order or invoice! Spent 1hr 10mins yesterday trying to get through on the phone and whilst writing this review I’ve been on hold for 3hrs 38mins, completely unacceptable!!! Do not do business with car shades if this is how the business operates!

Bought a set for my old astra sports tourer fitted perfect then swapped cars bought some for a 13 plate mondeo and the side ones dont fit proper and will fall out ive emailed you and no reply either not happy will the service...

They do not split the sets so in case you want another part B and/or C for the rear window you don’t have this possibility, or if a part it’s broken or something else you still need to buy the whole set, AGAIN. And it’s not cheap. Nice job, Carshades.

Hi Madalin - because of how we manufacture Car Shades i.e. in either Full Sets for all rear windows or Passenger Door Sets only, we don't have the other options available to buy just the load area or tailgate Car Shades on their own. This is something we are reviewing but at the moment we don't have a timeframe as to when this might change. Sorry we couldn't be of more assistance on this occasion. Thank you Car Shades

We bought shades for a 2021 Kia Sportage, and they simply are the wrong size and shape. Nobody answered the phone, and so far after 2 days nobody has responded to my emails
