At the start things went smooth then afterwards, I bought a card worth £269, and realised it was a used card, then I reported to customer care after showing proofs and much waste of time, she said they wouldn’t refund me, and if I wish to make any more enquiries I should contact the card company directly!? And next thing they didn’t let me buy or sell anything

I’m a potential new customer but once my account was opened and I made my first purchase my payment card was somehow a security issue despite being ok everywhere else. I was then asked to confirm my personal details by sending it over email, this is obviously a security issue itself so I have cancelled my new account, I won’t do business with a company who suggests insecure verification .

I have been blocked from buying or selling giftcards. Nobody replies to phone (you just get a recorded message), email or online chat. Why? Is this customer service. I just want somebody to assist.

Just a scam. I bought a gift card, as I received the email with the code, I try to enter it to receive the specific amount, but is not working. It says is been already used, so they selling used codes. Please don't use those services if you don't want to lose your money.

As a customer, I had a huge pain dealing with returns. They claim they cannot accept returns because the item is digital which is exempt from law protection. They say I can resell the item in their website. However, my item is longer accepted. What a joke.

We had a correspondence about the differences between an Apple Store card and and Apple Gift Card. Not once did you say you wanted to return the card. Is this what you want? I assume it is so have initiated a refund according to our refund terms.

Bought 2x£50 Amazon Vouchers from this company on the 24/12/2022 (amongst other vouchers which went well until now) but they came invalid and already redeemed. Tried to resolve this in a civil manner by providing all time stamped proofs that the products were already redeemed prior to being dispatched to me. Currently still trying to resolve this but Cardyard is trying to shift the blame to me because the seller “is a long standing client” and “was adamant that they did not spend them”. Not impressed so far. Let’s see what they do to rectify the situation but Trading Standards will certainly want to know about this. Sent me an email after noticing a first negative on another review site stating “we are not shifting the blame on you” and “accidentally sent emails intended for the person who sent us the card”, which I seriously doubt is true, that was from 26/12/2022. Since then no update or reply from these customer service agents. I think I am going to have to go through the Consumer Ombudsman to get my money back which is a hassle. Would avoid them if I were you.

You received a full refund for this case. You very quickly left this 1* review mirrored on Trustpilot which caused a lot of difficulty, time and expense. You said you would avoid us, and we have assisted with this by deactivating your account.

Bought a Pandora gift card with a value of £500 a few weeks ago (checked the balance on the Pandora website as have had issue before with the amount being wrong). Still had £96 left on card after first use and the expiry date is Oct 2013 so plenty of time to use. However on checking balance today, it is down to £1. Someone else has managed to use this gift card!!! But as it is after the 42 day guarantee, I'm not holding out how that I will be able to get any of the £95 back. I assume the original seller has kept a note of the gift card details and has used it, even though they sold it on CardYard. This is the second time I have been done out of money, so think I'll be giving this company a wide berth from now on...

You have received a full refund to your payment method. The first we heard about this was when you left this 1* review. It would have been much easier if you had contacted us directly instead of carrying out your business through a reviews website.

Caution is required when purchasing as some gift cards carry risk. What is the risk, cards purchased should be checked instantly as its possible the value of a card is not loaded with the full amount purchased. Equally, fully loaded cards should be spent ASAP because holding onto these cards and believing the purchased value will remain available throughout the cards valid period could allow parties who had or have involvement with card serial numbers and pins an opportunity to spend or transfer the cash value.

You should only purchase gift cards from Cardyard when you are ready to spend them, and then you should spend them as quickly as possible. Indeed we only offer 42 day balance guarantee.

They steal my money!!!! Don’t sell your gift cards in this website! They said the gift card has been used and they took off £300 of my gift card!!! DONT TRUST THEM!!!!

We had a lot of correspondence together, and it is very clear the buyer could not have spent the funds on your gift card and we had to refund them. This meant we had to take a refund from you. Be careful who you deal with and make sure you get your gift cards from reputable companies.

I wouldn't even give them one star, but had no choice. I uploaded a gift card to sell on the website. The link to the card was working before I sent it, and there was a balance of £100. They then said it was in quarantine for two weeks, then someone bought it, but guess what? They then said the card didn't work. So they've either pocketed this themselves or not checked the balance before letting someone buy it. I wish I'd checked all the reviews on all the sites before using these. They owe me £84 for a £100 gift card, and if I don't get it, I'm taking it to the ombudsman, and warning others via popular websites.

As discussed with you, this card became invalid. It wasn't spent, it just stopped working, and you can see that yourself when you try to open it. There are a number of reasons why this can happen and we recommend you get the person who supplied the card to go to the retailer and find out the reason they have decided not to honour the card.

Service is very poor. They do a soft credit search to verify your identity - this should be an ID search as I never applied for any form of credit. The people must have a sight difficulty as they are unable to see the payments they have made on the bank account statement you send them. They have a telephone number with a voicemail that nobody ever replies to. The live chat is a waste of time if you ask a question that they do not want to answer. I have lost confidence in this company and have 3 times requested a call to be told that they don’t talk on the phone despite the telephone number they provide offering callbacks. Beware! I understand that they have to do checks but clearly there is a flaw in the system they have.

Hi Ian, it's nearly 5 years to the day you first became a Cardyard customer. We don't want you getting frustrated! I'm sorry you found the ID processes frustrating (we don't do a credit check; we do an ID check using a credit checking agency), but it all went through fine with an initial fail and then a pass, so thanks for bearing with us and for being a long standing Cardyard customer. Best wishes, Mike

This is my second time selling with Card Yard and unfortunately I was a victim of fraud using their service the second time round. I listed a £50 Amazon voucher which was sold almost immediately. Unfortunately however, Card Yard contacted me once purchased stating the buyer reported the voucher as already redeemed. This was impossible as I had only scratched off and revealed the card number to list on Card Yard (nobody else had access to this information). I challenged Card Yard on this stating that surely they had checked the balance of the card before selling on (as stated as one of their due diligence checks on their website), therefore proving the card was only redeemed after purchase. They responded they don’t carry this out for Amazon vouchers, as once redeemed you can’t sell them on (this makes you wonder why they allow the selling of Amazon vouchers in the first place when the seller is wide open to fraudulent purchases). They claimed the buyer had sent them proof the card had not been redeemed against their account (presumably using a screenshot of the email used to purchase the card), equally they have no evidence to show the buyer hadn’t simply used the card elsewhere on another account, claimed it was redeemed and then asked for their money back. There is literally nothing in place to stop buyers purchasing Amazon vouchers, redeeming them against a friend’s account, sending a screenshot of their own account (showing nothing has been redeemed) and then asking Card Yard for their money back - leaving you without your voucher or your money. Card Yard were no help at all, and just said “contact Amazon”. Amazon won’t refund the money even if you still have the card, packaging etc. unless you have the original store receipt (but why would you if you have been gifted a voucher?) and in the interests of GDPR, will not disclose the email address it has been redeemed against. So I’ve effectively lost £50 using Card Yard’s service, which I was drawn to in the hopes their platform was secure and had appropriate seller protection in place. Unfortunately however, in the instance of Amazon vouchers, there is no seller protection in place, and Card Yard are effectively relying on the goodwill of buyers to not redeem your card elsewhere and claiming it’s already used. Therefore these vulnerabilities make it no safer than eBay, Gumtree etc. so don’t be fooled. Any fraudsters out there hoping to make easy, unchallenged money - this is it!

I believe you Joe. I've reviewed this and the buyer was identified as a fraudster last week and we were in the middle of sorting out payment for your card. It's extremely rare for this to happen and our process is usually foolproof but in this instance it took longer than normal to resolve. You say you were a victim of fraud the second time around, but you had successfully sold a card on our platform before, so this is the first time you have had a problem. I'm sorry you had this unfortunate experience but we haven't had an issue like this since we brought in the new process. Best wishes Mike

I’m not sure what the point of this site is other than to obtain a large amount of personal information. I have a gift card to sell and had to give lots of personal details including my address and bank account details, to then be told I had ‘failed’ and couldn’t sell the gift card. The company offer no explanation what I have failed, why or how to remedy it. What are this company doing with my data, who is processing it and what have I failed? They now have no interest in selling my gift card but have all my details. The customer service is extremely poor and offer no solution to the problem?

We share your frustration Dan and like you, we had put a lot of effort into your sale which was for a high value item. Because of this we asked for ID which we sent to TransUnion, a data bureau. Their details are in our privacy policy, and are also included in the email when we request ID (though we realise wasn't in the email we sent you which has lead to a review and change of our process). It is rare for ID checks to fail, but we have to rely on TransUnion to keep us all safe. Due to this failure, we are unable to accept your card. We process thousands of cards a week and have to take precautions to keep the quality of our service as high as it is. I understand it is very frustrating to be denied our service, and I hope you are able to achieve your aims some other way. Best wishes, Mike

Purchased a river island card for the value of £50. With £5 discount. Tried to use card and it was empty. It was a Sunday so customer service not around, took until Monday PM to get a refund which then took til Friday to arrive in my bank. Seems like a good idea... not sure how i ended up with an empty card.

You were paid for 2 Pandora cards to which you informed us that this was not correct as you used them. You then decided to sell them somewhere and have encountered a problem with one of the cards. 'We recommend only selling gift cards on a specialist gift card exchange. We have corresponded over this issue and let you know the outcome.

Purchased a GAP e-gift card that I could not use online, it did state on the website use gift cards in store only but did not state e-gift cards so lost £21.25 ... I think CARDYARD need to differentiate between gift & e-gift cards ... not happy 😡

We offered you a resolution, but you still left this review. You then called us to explain that, whereas it may be obvious to us that an egift card is the same as a gift card, it won't be to everybody. However, you offered no collaboration and want to publish your frustration. You haven't lost £21.25. We've added a sentence to say GAP egifts and gift cards have the same restriction, though the information pop-up on listed e-gifts already makes this clear. We understand not everybody will click on the pop up.

I was promised time and time again that i would have the money in my bank by Monday they even stated that on trust pilot, the live chat is just pointless after you've sent them in its now the promised day "Monday" and 10am and still nothing, they even said on live chat on Friday that they will email me to show my landlord that i will have the money on moday to pay him, now he's coming to pick up the arears and ive got nothing to give him unless by some chance its in within the hour, i would have been happy giving 5stars if they stuck to the promise and truly believe them, now ive got PTSD after serving 10 years in Iraq and Afghanistan and I'm still fighting my demons and trying my hardest fir my family especially my 4yo daughter but i must admit this has been more stressful them most days in service,my house is on the line here and i need a miracle. I sent a live chat message at 730 this morning and got a message back auto reply saying no one was available expect a reply in an hour but this is 3 hours down now and still nothing, i even had to wait 5days if I'm not mistaken for a reply last time but before i sent them it was minuets
