I was using Cardyard to buy discounted gift cards, and they were brilliant: quick and efficient. However, I bought a gift card from them worth £19.99, and then no longer needed it. I decided to try selling it through them, however, they declined the gift card, refusing to sell it. I called them to ask why and spoke to Mike, who told me that there was £0 on the gift card. I had not used it, meaning they had fraudulently sold me a gift card with nothing on it. However, during this phone call, I was accused of fraud, and Mike told me that I had probably spent the amount on the gift card. He kept forcing this claim upon me, despite it not being true. Once he had looked into this further, I received this e-mail from him: 'We have now spoken to Curry's PC World. By coincidence the Curry's PC World £19.99 card that you purchased from us then sold back to us was spent a few days before we originally sent it to you. This is fraudulent activity by the seller, and I apologies for the difficulty it caused. You are covered by our 42 day guarantee and we will refund the purchase price you paid to your credit card. We will also load £1 to your Cardyard account to cover the cost of posting the card back to us. It us unfortunate that I accused you of spending the card but I hope you understand it appeared that way. We were happy to investigate the situation and I'm glad it is now resolved.' This was - as Mike seems to think - not a coincidence, but bad customer service. The fact this was within their 42 day cover scheme - as he seems to think - is irrelevant, considering it was Cardyard who sold me a gift card with nothing on it. £1 credit - as he seems to think - is hardly covering my postage cost, considering I plan to never use their service again, nor is it adequate compensation for accusing me of fraudulent activity. And, finally, accusing a customer of fraud is without doubt a sign of a company lacking care, commitment and decent customer service. Do not use Cardyard, it is certainly the worst experience I have ever had with a shop.

Thank you for your review Avigail. My understanding of what had happened is that we were able to resolve the issue within an hour and you were able to contact us directly by phone. We did everything to solve this immediately as Customer Service is high priority within our company. You should now feel confident that all your purchases are protected by our guarantee. Thank you for using Cardyard and we would like to see you back in the future. Kind regards, Lea Knobbe – Head of Operations.

Event though they confirmed the reception of the card I sold, someone that bought that same card from them complained about it not working and, since they probably weren't helpful (or didn't pick up the phone), said customer complained to their bank about CardYard being a scam, so MY account got blocked because I had just received their payment for the card I sold. So, thanks CardYard, now I've got to wait ages for my bank to investigate to conclude that I acted in good faith and unblock my account.

This was a complete mistake by my bank who are very apologetic and are doing everything they can to resolve the situation. I hope it can be sorted out very soon. Mike
