Overall the trip was good but some points to note -Both flights with Air Transat were awful. Seats so narrow that I could hardly sit down, the extra leg room that I paid for was a joke, and the 'food' was unacceptable. The cabin staff are clearly embarrassed by the service offered because they hide away during the flight. -The Wall Centre Hotel looks magnificent and the views from windows superb but it took 90 minutes to check in and we were even given the keys to a room that someone was already occupying. They gave us a $75 credit to apologise and then on checkout tried to charge me for not only for the food I used the credit to have, but also added a gratuity that I expressly said I was not giving because the staff did not give a good service. -The Banff International Hotel was not brilliant either very dark room and couldn't serve breakfast because their computer was down! The Ptarmigan next door was much better and their breakfast is included in room rates. -Brewsters may need to look to their servicing of their fleet as we were left stranded on two consecutive days due to vehicle breakdown. This meant we had no time to look around Jasper centre and even worse we lost over 2 hours precious time at the Fairmont Chateau. I have emailed Brewsters regarding this loss and am disappointed that so far they have not even replied other than confirm my email address -Finally the lunch at Columbia Icefield was horrendous we had only 30 minutes before having to get on the Icefield bus and the buffet was a disorganised mess of very badly cooked dishes resembling the worst school meal I can remember Overall the trip was good but could have been superb if the above points had not arisen.

Adla put together a trip to celebrate my wife,s big birthday I could never have. Calgary stampede, the tour of the Rockies, a night at Fairmont lake louise, the stay in Vancouver with her sister were all memorable and she loved standing on Athabasca Glacier, marvelled at the views in the Rockies and was scared to death at Flyover Canada. Even the rain at the Stampede just made for greater fun.

Fantastic Canadian adventure expertly arranged by Anne. We started our journey in Glasgow, flying club class to London then on to Calgary, we had 4 days there and attended the marvellous Stampede. We actually got it dry!! From there we were taken by Brewster Travel to Banff, Lake Louise, and Banff(stopping at Bow summit, Colombia Icefields, and althabascar falls) before joining the Rocky Mountaineer Train to Kamloops then on to Vanvouver. We had a couple of nights there before taking the coach and ferry across to Victoria, where we visited the amazing Butchart Gardens. On our return to Vancouver by seaplane we then went on the Celebrity Infinity to Alaska which was incredible. then flew club class back to London/Glasgow. All our transfers were extremely smooth with no delays and hotels were 1st class. Would definitely recommend Canada Travel Specialists to anyone wishing to visit this amazing country.

Travelled from Gatwick to Calgary. The hotel was superb. We enjoyed the Calgaty Stampede but unfortunately it rained all the time. We then hired a car and drove to Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper stopping off to see the Columbia Icefield. We then went from Jasper to Vancouver on the Rocky Mountaineer. Everything about the holiday was well organised and the hotels were very good. I have already told my friends that I booked through Barrhead Travel and would certainly book through them again. Well done Craig.

I would definintely recommend a holiday to Canada and most definitely recommend Barrhead Travel. From my first contacting them they did every thing I needed to ensure the best holiday possible. I saw basically the trip I wanted on their website and they happily made a few changes to make it exact. The hotels they booked were all excellent, being well located and spotlessly clean. Canada is a fantastic country with some of the friendliest people my wife and I have encountered anywhere. The drive we had from Calgary to Vancouver was breath taking, just don't underestimate the distances as this country is vast but magnificent. Just beware of the time share salesmen in Whistler and try to avoid renting a car from Avis.

Fantastic holiday from Calgary through the Rockies ending in Vancouver. Aida Toal was a excellent agent and put together a top agenda. Only problem i found was the flight with Air Transat. Seats seem narrow and the food and drinks for the length of flight were not very good. Perhaps think if using a different airline.

We had an amazing 15 night road trip from Calgary to Vancouver. Thanks to Anne for organising it all and the welcome pack on arrival it all went seamlessly. There were 2 adults and 2 children on our trip which included Banff / Jasper / Clearwater / Whistler / Vancouver. Each place had its own characteristics and were all a different experience. We managed to cover as much family orientated activities as we could fit in - hiking, hot springs, gondolas, star gazing, wildlife hunting, mountain biking, ziplines, eating lots of different things and all in the most amazing scenery. Then shopping in Vancouver (once we found the shops in Robson street)! The hotels booked for us were great. In good locations but quiet and peaceful at night. They all had hot tubs and/or swimming pools. The activities available at Clearwater were amazing and kept the kids entertained whilst we had a few chill out days. This was a fantastic trip and we made some great memories and had some amazing experiences. We managed to fit loads in but we could go back, do the same trip again and fill it with different things. The only downside was that we had to go to London for the flight to Calgary. We went into agent with just the idea of a trip across the Rockies for a family of 4 - not really sure of where to go or how to do it. Anne pulled this together taking in all of our ideas and made one magical holiday. Thanks again.

We have just returned from our wonderful Canadian holiday I found the company on the Internet after my initial enquiry I received a phone call from Adla Toal to discuss my holiday plan and ideas -Calgary for the stampede Banff rocky mountaineer and Vancouver all 'bucket lists' Adla was very helpful and gave good advice on the Itinery she suggested transfer from Banff to Jasper to connect with the rocky mountaineer train to include Columbian icefields a stunning trip and had personal experience at all hotels (5) all were excellent We received our final holiday itinery a week before departure and a phone call from Adla to go over everything and any last minute concerns The trips was wonderful and ran very smoothly we were expected at all our destinations and greeted by friendly helpful staff Only disappointment - wishing we were staying longer at each destination - which means very likely we will return to Canada it more then fulfilled all our expectations We have already recommended your company to friends for your efficient service and planning I would like to thank Adla for arranging this an unforgettable holiday

I began to plan a 5 week trip across USA and Canada myself. It was complicated (not helped by all the different time zones!): Fly to Chicago then train travel East to West coast of America using overnight sleeper cabins, staying in 4 hotels in the USA before going to Vancouver, then Alaskan Cruise, Rocky Mountaineer to Jasper, then train back across to East coast of Canada stopping at Toronto and then down to New York for a couple of days before flying home. After a couple of weeks of stress I called Barrhead Travel and they put the itinerary together for me. I had a figure in my head I thought I could do it for. They came back with a quote which was slightly above that, but I went with it as it was worth someone else doing all the hard work. Now I have returned from my holiday I now know it was better than I could have done it for as the quality of hotels we got was much higher than I had in mind. Adla Toal emailed us a draft itinerary and we were able to change anything we wanted to with no problems at all. I made 2 minor changes (one a hotel where I preferred somewhere more 'in town' and another where I didn't want a cruise stateroom with a connecting door). Both changes were dealt with literally within an hour each time. 2 weeks before we left home we received a full pack of documentation which covered all flights, train travel, hotels, cruise, Rocky Mountaineer etc. The whole 5 weeks went like clockwork, all paperwork was spot on, all travel links planned meticulously well, all hotels superb. I cannot thank Adla enough for making this a trip of a lifetime. If I had continued to try and plan this myself I am sure we would have ended up sleeping on the floor at some train station somewhere! I urge any of you thinking about using Barrhead Travel to organize this for you to do it - don't hesitate. I will certainly be using them again.

Excellent service given from start to finish for our family vacation travelling around Canada. The hotels were all first class chosen by Barrhead specialist taking account of all our needs and more. The member of staff that dealt with the booking we felt went over and above to ensure we all had a truly wonderful holiday experience. Even when we had questions about flights on holiday we sent an email & a response was immediately provided showing the continued support & service being given. All in all a truly fantastic holiday thanks Barrhead.

We stumbled across the website by accident whilst searching Alaska deals, and could not be happier or more satisfied with the service of our agent Laura Robertson. We started planning this special birthday trip 7 months prior to our Alaska cruise with Holland America on Ms Nieuw Amsterdam. Prior to our confirming our booking, the options and prices were emailed over to us and any queries, questions and requests we later had were dealt with in a most efficient and professional manner. Laura listened, was not pushy and was not robotic. She certainly understood our needs and everything she expertly recommended went to plan and it's thanks to her that this special trip of a lifetime will never be forgotten. We would not hesitate to book through you again and have already recommended your company to our friends. Thank you very much for a memorable holiday.

We headed from Calgary to Vancouver Island and took 8 days, stopping in Banff, Jasper, Clearwater and Whistler, before catching a ferry to Vancouver Island to see relatives. We then topped it off with 3 nights in the Encore in Las Vegas. The itinerary that was produced for us was superb, although next time we would spend three nights in each location rather than 2 ! The distances from place to place was larger than we thought, we did over 2000 kms in those 8 days. Hire the biggest car you can, we had a GMC Yukon and on the big roads with big trucks you need a big car. It was effortless. All the hotels were clean, friendly, inviting. Could not complain. Only adjustment we would make is that if you go to Vancouver Island you can fly from Victoria to most places inc Vegas. We therefore would not have had to catch the ferry back from Naninmo and drive through Vancouver to the airport. Minor issue though. On the whole a 10 out of 10 for the holiday. We will be doing it again.

The most fabulous holiday ever. We travelled from Calgary to Vancouver on a Rocky Mountaineer standard package trip which incorporated two and a half days on th RM (Gold leaf). The organisation for this trip by RM was second to none. I was in awe not only of the spectacular views and scenery but also of all the co-ordination and attention to detail afforded to us all. Everything was superb from the meals on the train to the accommodation on route - it could not have been any better. Well done to all the RM staff for their excellent service. Michelle from Barrhead travel booked this holiday for us adding little extras that made the trip even more special. Our thanks to her for her enthusiasm with regard to where we were going as she had first hand experience of our trip and the professional way it was handled from start to finish. Unfortunately our only disappointment was with Air Transit. How it can call itself a long haul airliner is beyond me. No legroom - appalling food - deplorable service. On our return journey the soft drinks trolley was brought around twice but with no offer of any hot drinks. When finally people requested tea or coffee on the second run they provided it individually from the back of the aircraft. What sort of service is that? I only mention this so that operators and agents are aware of how substandard this airline is. Nine hours is a long haul flight and needs a bit more attention than the short haul ones. This holiday was the best ever - would recommend Michelle and Barrhead travel to anyone travelling to Canada whatever your requirements.

We were recommended to Canada Travel (aka Barrhead Travel) by friends who used them last year, and in fact we put together more or less the same holiday. We flew to Vancouver, did the Inside Passage cruise, spent time on Vancouver Island Victoria, Tofino), and finished taking the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff and home from Calgary. Our agent put together the whole package. He clearly knew his stuff and managed the various tweaks and changes we asked for promptly and accurately (and patiently!). We were very fortunate with weather. In that, and every other, respect the holiday met or exceeded our expectations (which were quite high!). Two cautions: the first is that it took 4 hours to clear US Immigration at Vancouver Ocean Terminal, to the annoyance of the ship's captain. Part of the problem was the number of people who had failed to get an ESTA (US Visa Waiver) before travel. The second is that it's a 7 hour coach ride Victoria to Tofino (which is well worth doing, but perhaps just one way). There is a flight back option, but it's on 8 seater planes with very limited baggage space. The excess baggage cost is nominal but there is a significant chance that your bag might travel on a later flight - no use to us who had an 07:00 train departure the next morning. Well worth an extra overnight in Vancouver to cut down on bags going to Tofino! Highly recommended!

My daughter and myself had a great holiday in Canada , visiting Toronto, Quebec and Montreal . Craig was most helpful with suggestions and with the organising of the trip .Apart from the hotel in Quebec ,which was a bit of a let down compared to the others we stayed in on our travels ,everything went to plan . I would definitely use Barrhead again and have recommended them already to friends .
