A lot of information was withheld about the flights for our trip to Canada. I wasn’t told which airline we were flying with until after the sale. Westjet is a budget airline for a long-haul flight. I wasn’t given the option of paying more to ensure we sat together, so we sat apart for 8-10hrs (10hrs return). I also wasn’t told I would need to bring my own device for entertainment. I did have my ‘phone which wouldn’t connect to the app. Luckily, I brought my book, unlike my partner who was forced to stare into space for 8 hours. I had brought my own snacks and drinks, as 2 hot drinks in 8-10 hrs is very little (water was provided also and 2 small dry snacks – biscuits/pretzels). The hotels were ok, except in Banff, where the Mountain Lodge was beautiful. The Niagara Falls trip was very good and the Rocky Mountaineer trip was wonderful.

We were given incorrect info by Barrhead Travel on three counts. Firstly, concerning our checked baggage, which Hannah of Barrhead Travel advised was not included in the cost of our flight, and should be booked and paid for at check-in at Glasgow Airport. (Hannah had apparently received this information from WestJet). As this sounded highly unlikely to us, we contacted WestJet direct who confirmed that our baggage was in fact included in the cost of flight. Secondly, Hannah advised us we need not complete an ETA, as this would not come into force until September 2016. Again, having checked with WestJet, we were informed ETA had come into force in March 2016 and that it would be in our best interest to complete it. (Both of these issues were only highlighted after receipt of tickets, only two weeks prior to departure). Thirdly, we booked our INCLUSIVE rate vehicle rental through Barrhead Travel (with Avis). At pick-up in Canada, we were asked to provide credit card details - we assumed this was a formality, but have returned from holiday to a credit card charge of £245 (apparently for "non-PKG items - energy and concession recovery fees"). We have no idea what this refers to, as we paid for an inclusive rate.

We stumbled across the website by accident whilst searching Alaska deals, and could not be happier or more satisfied with the service of our agent Laura Robertson. We started planning this special birthday trip 7 months prior to our Alaska cruise with Holland America on Ms Nieuw Amsterdam. Prior to our confirming our booking, the options and prices were emailed over to us and any queries, questions and requests we later had were dealt with in a most efficient and professional manner. Laura listened, was not pushy and was not robotic. She certainly understood our needs and everything she expertly recommended went to plan and it's thanks to her that this special trip of a lifetime will never be forgotten. We would not hesitate to book through you again and have already recommended your company to our friends. Thank you very much for a memorable holiday.

I was very pleased with the service, planning, time taken and detail provided prior to booking, however, once I had booked it all seemed to stop. It was difficult to speak to my consultant and she failed to reply to my e mail enquiry over a major omission from the itinerary. It has still not been resolved to my satisfaction which is not ideal when I am paying in excess of £10,000 for the holiday.

The beginning of our holiday was spoilt by your employee booking us to a cheap room overlooking a car park at the Rimrock Resort, having booked gold leaf on the. Rocky mountaineer and a balcony cabin on the cruise totalling over £6000 I am sure he should have known what kind of room we required, we ended up paying $200 plus tax to upgrade. But it caused us a lot of hassle and upset after a long flight on what was a special holiday for us
