Almost two years down the line the BIBO continues to provide instantaneous hot and cold water. Despite living in a very hard water area, I have only had to descale the tank twice, a much simpler process since the redesign of the cleaning tank. The only thing I would question is the increase in annual service when all around there are price cuts and zero or negative inflation

Very nice looking good design but a pity you cannot stand it up under the Bibo to fill

Purchased my BIBO Classic around a year ago, and I must say it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time! Because everybody in our household has a physical disability, we find it impossible to use a standard kettle. For the 6 years prior to owning the BIBO, I rented a bottled water cooler but it was always a pain to change the bottles, the heating elements never made the water hot enough, and the cold water didn't seem to be as cold as it could be. Teas and coffees were just not nice at all, the hot water would not dissolve gravy granules, and I was always wary of plumbed-in options, as I felt that our tap water was of poor quality. Water coolers that had decent filtration, UV treatment, and could provide good hot and cold water temperatures were in excess of £1500. Enter BIBO. It serves all our needs, and provides brilliant hot and cold water, and requires very little maintenance. So, why did I knock off one star? 1) Water pressure affects the machine badly. I have had to adjust ours by very slowly turning the blue isolation tap on the plastic pipe (supplied) down to about 1/4 open. If the tap is fully open, the water gushes through too fast and splashes out. This can be resolved by fitting a pressure regulator - which I found by looking through water cooler websites, but one is not included. I intend to buy and fit one to solve this problem for good. 2) The manufacturer guarantee is 1 year. This did make me wonder if the machine would last, as I felt that the extended warranty seemed to be quite expensive. I made the decision not to extend the warranty, and decided that if the machine fails now that it is just over a year old that I would not replace it, and will look at purchasing something else. In this era, I feel that they should be offering at least a 3 year warranty as standard - to reinforce the fact that it is a reliable machine and give some confidence in the fact that it won't break down easily. That said, I feel these are minor things - and I still love my BIBO.

Hi John, thanks for your comprehensive review & we are delighted your BIBO has proven helpful for you at home. We have many customers with disabilities as well as many older customers who are nervous of handling a heavy & very hot kettle or saucepan. The BIBO Classic does indeed rely on water pressure to drive the water through the hot & cold tanks instead of employing a pump or a gravity fed system both of which have limitations. Occasionally if the water pressure is high this can result in an overly fast flow rate. The BIBO incorporates a pressure reducing valve (PRV) with is there to protect it against pressure surges but will not ‘adjust’ the pressure & flow rate. You’ve done the right thing in adjusting the flow with the shut off valve. We constantly review our warranty policy & may indeed extend our standard warranty in the future.

Generally good, if pushed (like I am being) then the controls could be more idiot proof - not everybody wants to read the instruction manual before using.

Very useful appliance but the hot water could be hotter, like a kettle.

Hi Karen, thanks for your comments. Your BIBO's maximum temperature is 98 degrees. Please double check what your hot water temperatures are set at and if you don't think it is getting this hot then please do get in touch at customers@bibowater.co.uk

The Bibo water dispenser is excellent for me as I am a disabled person in a wheelchair and have difficulty lifting a kettle. The only thing I don't like is the compressor is extremely noisy and has been from new. If it packed in tomorrow I would probably try to find something similar but quieter.

Hi Iain, many thanks for your comments and we are very pleased to hear how helpful the BIBO is to you. With regards to your compressor, when this occasionally happens it is often very similar to the noise your fridge will make, but because it is generally at floor level you don't hear it so much. If you have any further concerns regarding your compressor please do get in touch at customers@bibowater.co.uk :)

The system is good. It's spoilt by the cost of replacement filters.

Hi Derek, thanks for your feedback. I am sorry you feel the filters are expensive. A years’ supply of filters costs £74.50 equivalent to just 20p per day, less than a bottle of spring water!

Disappointed with capacity. We seem to fill four cups then the BIBO has to reboil

Hello, thanks for your comments and I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with the capacity. We tend to say on average (depending on the cup size) you can get 4-6 cups of water out of your BIBO before the temperature will start to drop. This is due to the size of tanks inside the machine, however as it is connected directly to your mains water supply it should only take a short while to get back up to temperature you require.

Great piece of equipment - just what we wanted. Had a problem installing (water leak) but was helped by excellent Customer Service. It would be nice if there was a key combination to put it to sleep immediately rather than having to wait an hour for the timer to kick in.

Hi Ian, thanks for your message and thoughts regarding the sleep mode on your BIBO. It is definitely something we are discussing for the next update!
