“This is a bit of a mixed bag of pros and cons. In the summer I ordered approx. 20 sleepers (2.4m x 200mm x 100mm). Delivery time was about a week which was fine for me. They duly arrived on a truck with a tail lift and pallet truck, which proved to be a bit of a problem. However the driver moved heaven and earth to get the delivery on my drive and was successful. The sleepers were straight and in excellent condition, I was happy, so much so, I ordered another 20 sleepers. Again ordering was easy and delivery quick and even better this time as it was delivered on a Suregreen truck with a Hiab style crane, which was much easier to deliver onto my driveway. Unfortunately, this time the condition of the sleepers wasn't so good. Approx. 40% of them had rot to a greater or lesser degree. When I tried to lift them off the pallet, large chunks would break off in my hands and could be crumbled in my fingers. Considering they were supposed to be new with Tanalith preservative. I was not impressed. Pros:- Ease of ordering, price, delivery. Cons:- Inconsistant quality of product. You pays your money, you takes your chances.”

“We were disappointed with this order. Our monies were taken a month ago but the items were out of stock - I do think your customers should be made aware of this before the payment is made. I then had to chase the order to find out what was going on. I was then told that I would be updated the next day, once the suppliers had been spoken to, but no updates were received.”

“Product was reasonably good out of 13no oak sleepers only one was very poor. I was told by Suregreen Ltd that I had to have two persons when sleepers were delivered, however, when the sleepers arrived they were all on a pallet, the driver had a hand pump up fork lift, the lorry had a tail lift and the driver put the pallet inside the gate to the drive. I had difficulty arranging a second person, which turned out to be unnecessary.”

“I bought a pallet of 24 European hardwood sleepers for raised beds. Although there will always be some variation in the size, & wood is a natural product so will not be exact, unfortunately at least 4 are so warped as to be unusable. I suggest your quality control could be better. Communication & delivery were good and well handled, although the delivery costs on the website seem to be a bit random.”

“Arrangements for ordering & delivery were good and simple to organise. Just disappointed with sizing of the sleepers . Their thickness for 100mm x 200mm sleepers ranged from 93 to 98mm . This make alignment on mitres problematic and requires additional time for re-cutting etc. Please can Suregreen look into requlating these sizes better going forward.”
